@@Mingonator87 no Mother Earth. It’s God who is displease with the evil and the wickedness
You still won't experience a hurricane...it will be a tropical storm by the time it reaches us...just wind and rain.
Two primary reasons the U.S. West Coast doesn't typically see hurricanes is because of the cold ocean temperatures and cold currents, plus the direction of the trade winds. Hurricanes need ocean temperatures to be warmer than 79 degrees
So global warming is real?
Thank you very much. mr. climate change idiot scammer.

I lived in Miami, near Homestead, when Hurricane Andrew came through. It's kind of scary to once again see Bryan Norcross telling me a major hurricane is heading my way. If this were the UK, Bryan would have been Knighted for the courage and service he showed back in 1992.
They said that about Jim Cantore even had a billboard for him to stay away in Louisiana
Same, seeing him again reminds me of Hurricane Andrew.
Beautiful
Damn if Hilary really blew like this, Bill would have never had Monica blown him.

Nothing like I’ve ever seen in California. We will be shocked to see what happens here. I know a lot of people are saying pretty nasty things about the people of California. that’s an awful thing to do because there’s children here and babies , so your prayers are welcome and needed.

@gregcarver1915bitter much? Wishing destruction on whole communities is hardly a mature response to a handful of idiots. I’m sorry to hear about what you’ve been through. But since you understand better than most how painful it is, why would you want that to happen to others?
What a supremely basic person and a basic comment.
Such good news! California needs and deserves this. I hope its massive.
As a Floridian, here are a few tips for any Californians:
- Wood is good, but metal/plastic shutters are preferable if you can find them this short notice.
- Stock 2-5 days' worth of food and water (depending on family size) but prioritize fresh water.
- If you have medical needs, expect the supply to be interrupted at least temporarily.
- Expect/plan for the power to go out early on in the storm and stay that way at least until the storm is over, possibly longer.
- DO NOT shelter from Hurricanes, flooding, or storm surge in your basement. Water flows downhill.
- If you evacuate anywhere, evacuate INLAND and to higher ground; preferably putting the Rockies between yourself and the storm. Even small mountains can cripple a hurricane.
- If you're at the bottom of a mountain/hill, you're wrong. (Sorry CA)
- If you're inside a geographic bowl, you're wrong.
- If you're on the coast, you're wrong.
- CLOSE/SEAL EVERYTHING! Open windows/doors/garages become leverage for the wind to rip structures apart.
- DO NOT run a gas-powered generator from inside your closed garage, the carbon-monoxide WILL kill you.
- If you own a boat/trailer, TIE IT DOWN. Because if you don't and there's any justice in the universe, it'll end up in your roof and not someone else's.
- If there's any lull in the storm, go outside and try to make sure your local sewage/drainage system is clear of debris. Clogged drainage systems result in flooding.
- Make a list of local hurricane shelters (probably local community centers/churches) just in case something happens to your home mid-deluge.
- Emergency services may not be available depending on how bad the storm is. Be ready for that and for the people who try to take advantage of it.
*You got this, good luck!* 😎👍
Thanks for this checklist!👏👏👏
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to send us great tip, very kind of you!
Thanks alot
Thank you. Keeping doors and windows closed is key.
I live in Canyon Lake which is right in the center of the projected path. Canyon Lake is maybe 50 miles west of Palm Springs and 100 miles north of San Diego. My wife received a text message from our homeowner's insurance company assuring us that they will be there for us if we sustain any damage.
@GregSr I live just on the other side of Canyon Lake
I too live in Canyon Lake, expect the causeways to flood again. I remember in the 90's kids had to get boated across to & from school over by the campgrounds. I'm sure we will see something like that again.

Awesome discussion. thank you. That's a huge amount of rain forecast over such an enormous area. big yikes.
An area that scientists say a large quake hasn't occurred recently due to lack of moisture. Double yikes!
@@unchargedpickles6372 That would be extremely coincidently inconvenient, I didn't even think of the possibility of an earthquake. The odds are slim, but it would be devastating. How to prepare: If you live in low lying areas near the LA beach your area will flood. If you live in the mountains, your area might have mudslides. Either way: pack up your pets, documents, meds and whatever you and your pets need for a few weeks into your EV and head inland.
If you live on the far side of the mountains, store up some water, non perishable food, flashlight with batteries, manual can opener, extra meds that you need, and form communications with your neighbors. Take care of each other because you can not depend on the government to save you. Just ask New Orleans.
Or Hawaii, or Ohio.
Holy cow, this is gonna be a tropical depression, not a Cat 5! IF we get a direct hit, we might have a few areas with damage or no power, but this is once again going into "fear porn" territory. I know we're in So Cal, but we HAVE gotten heavy rain and wind before. The media have obviously got an agenda with this, and we know what it is: Climate Change™!
This is going to be bad man
This is the best advice. I watched Katrina destroy New Orleans.
Get out.
They haven't said they'll be much of a tidal surge
Louisiana here. My family keeps ready waterproof bags for when a hurricane comes our way. After being without electricity for weeks from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we learned a few things. Every hurricane season, we make sure we have emergency money---cash. Lots of small bills kept in a waterproof pouch. We have adult wipes and a bar soap in case the water is off. We have bottles of water in both vehicles and placed throughout the house. One bag has copies of emergency information and coded account information for our banking, pet and social media accounts. Lastly, we pack a bag with three days of clothing change and an extra pair of shoes for each of us. We always have snack foods that can be packed quickly. We're praying for everyone to come out of this storm safe and sound with interesting stories to tell.
Last month my Sister was visiting from LA. We drove through heavy rain on 95, driving North not far from FT Lauderdale. She was a little scared. I told her it was just passing through. This one isn’t.

It's good to have geniuses in every category - thanks for the update, Mr Norcross
News channels are ignoring the fact that this is due to El Niño phenomenon, where the waters off the pacific warm and fuel Hurricane weather. It has happened here in California before and it will continue to happen years to come.

This was an excellent update. So informative and to the point. I hope that people take this seriously and prepare accordingly. If you can leave the area for a few days, that’s your safest option. Otherwise, prepare to the best of your ability.
Lake Tulare here to stay it seems that river will over flow again too!
That was well informed and delivered. Loved the graphics. Thank you from LA.
This happens every El Nino, we'll usually have a month of rain. So prep accordingly, flooding and mudslides. Welcome to CA. Prey for the people in Mexico they usually receive the brunt of these tropical storms...
It will be worse.
the problen here are the winds...not the rain
In February 1998, Los Angeles received more than 13 inches of rain that month. We're you living in L.A. @ the time?
It was a month long series of storm after storm.
And following a wet fall and winter season there is tons of brush growth that leads to massive brush fires during the Santa Ana Wind season. There are accounts of this from the earliest inhabitants of the region and isn't anthropogenic.
Hopefully this will lower the cost of living in California. I can't afford to miss work day on Monday so please go away hurricane.
You should move out of California
May be moving out by Monday
Finnaly some much needed water for Califormia, what a blesseing. This will deliver water all the way to Canada.
In the Palm Springs area, people are being evacuated. We don’t have the infrastructure to direct this much water
The last few months I've been reading scientists think the reason, "the big one" hasn't occurred is lack of moisture. That each previous large quake on the San Andreas was predeeded by high amounts of moisture that lubricated the fault in Southern California. Hope this disaster doesn't cause a quake disaster a few weeks later!
Interesting concept
OMG thats make sense. Like a landslide.
I didn’t know that I’m scared now I live right on the fault
The stupidest thing ever said ! Lubricating the faults , moron !

Been in Florida for over 23 years, got hit with Ian directly and lived through all of em. every storm is on the news here..remember they love to scare us so we go get crap from Publix
The number one reason why the west coast does not see Hurricanes is because in the Pacific they are called Typhoons.
Nope. They are also called hurricanes! Typhoons are only found in the Western Pacific near Asia.
West of the international date line they're typhoons, if I'm not mistaken.
Here in FL we are not used to watching a hurricane hit someone else. Good luck CA. Get your gas cans filled up and generators running, if they have not outlawed them there yet.
Hurricanes hitting us has become boring news to me, but seeing it happen to California and Nevada has me so fascinated again.

More worried about what happens with the wind to be honest. Our water temps here on the Coast aren't warm enough to sustain a hurricane (as this man covered.)
