That’s all good if you don’t want kids but if you have kids, you’ll have some attachments if you want what’s best for them. In most cases, it’s best for the kids if you stay married to their mom, don’t change cities/schools too much if at all (and that usually means not changing jobs frequently).

There's so many women like this because they get told, "They always deserve the best" while in reality they've done nothing to deserve the best. Rich, you are absolutely correct. I live in India (I call it Simpistan) and certainly can say this is exactly what I see here. Hell if you opened Wikipedia about Hypergamy, you will see India as the first option. Cause our so-called arranged marriage system is based on Hypergamy and we pioneered that system hundreds of years ago. Even women who prefer to date here behave exactly as anywhere else in the world. So yeah if you come from a high-income country and go to a third-world nation, you might have an easier time, but only because your comparative standing is better. That's why they say that IF you're going to go that route, you need to find a way to move there while continuing your financial plan. I was married 18yrs and made equal $$$, but life changes and changes people, and yes Mark in the end i wasn't too interested in him anymore. But there was never any hypergamy, but more of one to be able to explore life's offerings
Women always make anecdotal evidences like "oh, I once dated guy who was unemployed, so you are wrong", "oh, I once dated guy who was shorter than me, so you are wrong". You can bring up statistics, but it doesn't matter. I believe they do it subconsciously, this is just the difference, most men think analytically, seek for rules and laws in reality (although, they can be biased from personal experience too!) where most women seek for hints from they past about how they feel in such situation and compare it to the situation they are facing right now. And, yes, there are exceptions, there are always some exceptions, but men tend to treat them as a noise you need to get rid of to extract general rule, where women tend to come to the conclusion that you can't be sure so you need to choose what is best for you and don't look at the rules because there is no one.
I believe this is the reason behind "who hurt you" argument - this just a woman applying woman's thinking, where the original argument was probably made men's way, analytical way.

What women want and expect in a relation becomes irrelevant because they are not the ones that determine the success of the relationship. It is up to the man to establish the boundaries and expectations of the relationship. His ability to meet the goals will determine how successful the relationship will be. If she respects him she will happily become his copilot.

Hypergamy is mostly a developed world phenomenon because adultery is not a crime, so monkey branching to the next best thing is a viable hustle. In much of the world, there is no no fault divorce and adultery is a crime punishible by imprisonment and sometimes even death.
I live in Kenya (Africa), and what he is talking about is real. A girl who was a campus classmate once told me, "When you get rich, I'll come so you marry me." (I'm a geek) She then proceeded to go to a party and the next day I heard stories of the stuff that went down.

I agree about female hypergamy. Though it is true that some women will immediately desire other men, some other also see the potentials of their partner. They do not wish to be with other men but the better version of their partner. So for instance it is not always about how much money you have in your bank account right now or how far you are in achieving your goal but your attitude around it. How dedicated, passionate you are to be the better version of yourself on things that we value. A woman will leave when they do not see anymore potential in their partner, but won't everyone do that? Until now I never dated a guy with a stable job and it is ok for me. Splitting bills on dates never once an issue in any of my relationships. However, I did judge those guys on what and how they do to improve their own condition, how is his decision making, did he learn more or try new things or just staying in misery, wasting time by waking up late and play game all the time? Because it also reflects how these men treat themselves. The part where you mentioned about wanting men that are confident and competent was really spot on.
What work does she do to improve her skills as a lover to such a high Quality or potentially high quality man? I don't see the work from her points of view

FACTS. But this isn't the way women "behave today," it's the way the female of any species behaves since the beginning of time. Women mate across and up bc we're wired that way naturally, to ensure that the species propagates to its fullest genetic potential. If women weren't this way, lesser quality men would have progeny and that would negatively affect the entire species. There are some many example of women leaving powerful, rich nice guys and then they go on interviews and sing the praises of the guy but also say "I got the feeling I was missing something". Yeah, you got bored. It just took longer because you were rich so had more fun stuff to distract you. Women think being married for life is all sunshine an rainbows but that's not what it's for; it's intention is so you have someone there when times are hard to support you. It works both ways but women no just bail during hard times because they have many thousands of guys 1 message away and they believe the lies that women can do anything at any age and guys will always want them. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN WITH KIDS, THEN NO GUY WANTS YOU. OVER 30? THEN NO SUCCESSFUL OR INTELLIGENT GUY WANTS YOU. NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING IN THE HOME LIKE COOK OR CLEAN? THEN NO GUY WANTS YOU. DON'T TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH AND APPEARANCE? THEN NO EVEN ABOVE AVERAGE GUY WANTS YOU. They might say they do and hang around for fun for a while but when it comes to marriage they won't bother and it's their choice.

Sounds like hypergamy is bring lumped in with general high female mate selectivity. From my understanding, hypergamy refers specifically to the female instinct to attempt to mate with the men withe the greatest resources/weath/ability to provide. Its socioeconomic. "Waking up in the morning and saying 'is this the best I can do'" can refer to any desired characteristics. Height, overall physical attractiveness, personality, character, etc. Not necessarily socioeconomic power.
I don't don't understand why hypergamy is such a big deal. I'm hypergamous. I want to be with the person I find most attractive and compatible. Why should I look down on women for being the same as I am?

Are these fundamental factors that play in? Sure. But I'd argue what you're saying are stereotypes and highly generalized. It makes it seem as there aren't that much in between. However, I do agree with how you sum it up at 3:55.
