2:58.... Wow I was like, one on the left, looks so derpy..... And that one is a real one. 🤣
Cheeky cheeky tsk tsk tsk
10:51 Toffel got so mad he reverted to German out of shock. 😂
The mother tongue emerges in moments of extasy and outrage heh
9! 999!!! 999999999!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neeneenenenenene
As a fellow german I immediately noticed too :D "Nein!!!! NEIN!!!!"
Came her to make just his comment l m a o
2:10 Toffel should get half a point since Demonic Tutor only lost half of its pentagrams, it kept the one on its chest.
I was going to say! 4th Ed DT, too broke for Beta...
Edit: 3rd Ed, Revised. Still has the head and chest one, but ones from then on, no more pentagrams
I have a lot of trouble imagining them explaining to the poor designer 🤔 "please remove the pentagram on the head because we cannot have pentagram on cards. But leave the one on the chest that could be a star lol who knows"
Still, I think its odd to bestow a lot of meaning on something as harmless as simple line-shaped object like a pentagram. The pentagram with the point downward is supposed to invoke magic, which maybe if you're very religious is something you should avoid or consider evil?
I am not extremely religious, but a piece of cardboard with something depicted from a non-existant fantasy setting doesn't seem like something important in comparison to the actual evil that is present in our real world.
Even if it is something that is considered bad, isn't shining a light on evil a thing the bible tells you to do? The game also has representation for the forces fighting that evil, so it probably balances out.
DT is one of the most evocative art pieces from early magic, I'm glad I always kept my revised edition card that looks exactly like the artist intended.
Well, the chest is only a half pentagram. So it lost two thirds of its pentagrams.
Seth missing the panharmonicon question, my god. Crim will never let him hear the end of this.
It's the most Seth thing of all time.
He was right about what the real instrument was, an automated mechanical orchestral organ.
Shame that wasn't the question.
@@nexviper Ahh yeah, I guess panharmonicon card art vs the instrument IRL is an important distinction to make. Kinda feels like a trick question, but maybe I'm just a lil slow 😂
How you depict it is more an Artist choice in this regard. I don't blame Seth for not knowing, I chose the exact same answer. However, if he had to guess the exact wording of the card and got it wrong, I would have been shocked.
Seth is a double agent good thing crim is blessed
Crim showing up anywhere, always makes me think of the time the A.I. printed a card with 'protection from Crim'
There was? That's awesome! Can't seem to find it, though
@@jackpabich763 it's from "We Try (And Fail Miserably) To Play With AI-Generated Magic Cards" (on this channel) at 21:36.

MTGgoldfish and Card Market! It’s a Christmas miracle!!
It too powerful!!!!!!
I guess you can say i’m a special kind of girl
Fun Fact: The Serra's Emissary question has come up before on the Cardmarket channel! In "We Want to Give You a Modern Deck | 4-Color Creativity vs Boros Burn", Carl wonders if he is allowed to choose "REDACTED" with Serra's Emissary. Funny to see it come back a year later!
It would be fun to do this where it the quiz is curated towards Toralf but there is a team against him
That's a hilarious idea! It's going on the list of future possible videos :)
@@CardmarketMagic How about only questions Thoralf is sure he knows the answer to but you pretend he is incorrect and see how long it takes for him to figure it out.
I don't really consider myself a lore guy, but I knew the answer was Argentum before even seeing the options and knew they were both gonna put Mirrodin.
Same
I didn’t know this! Bamboozled
I didn't remember it at first, but as soon as I saw it as an option it clicked for me.
@skykur think of it this way, if the answer was mirroring they wouldn't have asked the question 😀
@@chummer2060
Same here, though I knew that something was up with the question.
Please....please for the love of any godlike entity... please do more collabs with MtGGoldfish
🐟 + 🃏
We have more videos with Crim & Seth coming out in the next few weeks :)
@@CardmarketMagiccan't wait!!!! ❤❤
That is sweet, I love these guys and have listened and watched a ton of their content over multiple years.
The cross over we never knew we needed! ❤
As a lover of lore and artifacts the Argentum question was the one that had me yelling at the screen haha. What a cool video guys, absolutely love this
Honestly I was half expecting it to be some kind of trick question where the answer was somehow zhalfir. or I guess dominaria.
The New phyrexia question was great because people forget about Argentum being the base that Memnarch shaped into mirrodin.
yeah, that was the one thing I got to be smug about knowing (before the answers even) for this one. :)
I only knew it because of the volume of lord videos I've watched recently
what language is this, I play swamps.
Crim missed an opportunity to call Seth at the very end just to say "I don't need any more help, I'm just calling you to say that we won" like that one guy on the Millionaire show.
Excellent content as always, looking forward to more collabs between your two teams!
Dream come true. Mtgoldfish and cardmarket are the main mtg content I watch on youtube. You guys should definitely do more content with mtggoldfish.
We'll have much more Goldfish content in the weeks to come :)
@@CardmarketMagic can't wait!
Looked it up, and Seth was right. A panharmonicon is a weird piano set up mixed with a contraption, and the art of panharmonicon is not a real panharmonicon
Too knowledgeable for his own good😔
Yes, organs have horn pipes inside them. It is indeed most similar to an organ so the question was too literal to what people see
Carl continues to come up with evil questions.
My two favorite MTG channels in one video, what a treat!
I’m surprised that the one German from Goldfish (Phil (Brewer’s Kitchen)) wasn’t involved.
That was a lot of fun! These videos are always a blast and the guests are always homerun choices! The MTGGoldfish crew are all so funny and chill.
They indeed are :)
I got the New Phyrexia question right, I feel somewhat proud.
I remembered it used to be something else but I couldn’t name it till the options came up. I was thinking it might have been named similar to memnarch or something. Once the options came up, I knew it was argentum
You should feel proud! That was a really challenging question. I think I went a little too niche on that one 😅
I would have answered before looking at the options and gotten it wrong, too. But as soon as the first option was revealed I noticed the "original" in the question and saw what happened.
On the note of super non relevant mirrodin lore. Crim did call the suns on the sword background moons. That made me laugh way more than it should have. Grim famously not a green player doing something that is associated with the green color identity before the fifth dawn.
Always a great game! Had no idea on the first picture, but got Mystic Confluence when Crim did
"oh right you've had pleasant kenobi, I'm fine."
-Crim 2023
Thoralf's inner German woke up with the Argentum question 💀 NEIN, NEINNEINNEINNEIN
So Thoralf was correct with Demonic Tutor. There's 2 pentagrams in the artwork, one on the forehead and one on the chest. When it was updated in Revised the one on the forehead was removed but the one on the chest stayed.
I thought the clue for Panharmonicon about organs were like human organs (like Living Wall), not the instruments lol.
What even weirder is the art they show for panharmonicon show a horn surrounded by harps
Dude! With you guys coming together, i need a secret lair with "Crim that Betrays" and that AI genererated card with "Protection from Crimm"
I'm not a huge veteran in the MTG youtube space and discovering new content on the regular. But I swear to god, whenever I discover a new content creator or binge watch someones channel, they are ALWAYS invited to the cardmarket team for something literally the week after. It's like this channel has been curated for me in particular!
Love to the MTG Goldfish crew, love to the cardmarket crew!
Alright 😅 I guess I have to ask the crystal ball then, who are we inviting next?
@@CardmarketMagic Apparently Voxy! Just discovered her like 4 days ago, so I give you guys a week! ;)
@seriousbusiness334 hahahaha! We're going to have to frantically start booking plane tickets 🤣 that's a long flight!
On the new phyrexia question, I KNEW they both snap picked mirrodin. Couldn’t remember Argentum but i knew they both fell for the trap
How to describe crim’s way of playing mtg in one phrase: “likes opposition agents a little too much”
13:50 Toffel probably thought of the other Opposition art, with Urza and Barrin.
I was so sure they were all gonna flub the New Phyrexia question. :D
Just wonderful! Really happy to see this crossover happen. Thanks for the good content!
Thank you for being there to watch it :)
Was just about to watch a video by crim, great timing card market. You guys have some of my favorite magic players of all time featured and I can't thank you enough.
Thank you :) we try our best. Do you have anyone else you would like to have us invite onto the channel?
My 2 favorite channels finally collaborating!
i love the twists you guys put on normal gameplay, could there be any planechase modern or pioneer
No one has ever suggested that but it's a wonderful idea! :) I'll put it on the list of possible future videos
The Pan in Panharmonicon is a small give away. As in 'panflute' a flute made from 'pipes' named after the greek god who made a flute out of reeds.
Sweet coop vid with my old favorites from MTGGoldfish. I've spent hours of the week watching Seth play magic, talk about magic related stuff or read his articles. Crim was also a (later) welcome addition to their team, it was tons of fun having him on the podcast and carving his own audience at Goldfish. Fun quiz, thanks for posting!
We've been enjoying their content forever as well, so it felt great to have Crim over in Germany and collaborate with Seth on some videos :)
Always a good day when a Do You Know Magic episode comes out!
This was excellent! We now need to see a Card Market vs MtG Goldfish quiz. Hosted by the Prof, of course.
When I clicked, I was hoping to see brewer's kitchen so much !
Still haven't watched the whole video, in the process, but thus format is just so fun.
You guys are always having the most fun too and I think that really showcases how much fun magic can be even if it might seem overwhelming to start
The collab I did not expected, but one I really enjoyed.
The "New Phyrexias original name" question completely juked me.
This was a lot of fun to play along with, fortunately I also had more points than Thoralf. Unfortunately not enough to beat Crim
The start of a beautiful new saga. If they don’t have you lads on for Commander Clash, imma throw hams
my two favorite MTG channels finally coming together ! loved the video more !!!!
There will be much more coming out in the next month :)
Today I learned about instruments I never heard about, a card type (battle) I was not aware of and that I should never participate in a MTG trivia contest. Nice video!
This was super spicy, more of this MTG quiz show content pleeeeeeease 🙏
As much as Crim doesn’t like green, in this scenario he’s the 15 squirrels.
That joke is both hilarious, and also catered to people who know magic! This is the perfect place for it 🤣 good job!
LOOOOL at Thoralf's outraged "NEIN!! Neinneinneinneinnein!!"
I just love how tailored the answers were. You knew their favorite cards and tried to make a quiz around it. Except for a couple.
Crim laughing like a maniac as always 😂
Fun fact about the New Phyrexia question. Argentum is the latin name for Silver (Ag). Which fits its creator Karn, the Silver Golem.
If I recall, emblems are basically just reminder text. They can't be interacted with in any way, they're just a convenient shorthand for telling you that the player now has a new ability.
thats not fair, it was not named Argentum when it was corrupted by the phyrexians. At that point it had already changed its name to Mirrodin.
Do hope that we get content with the others. Personally gunning for phil cuz brewers kitchen got me into mtg.
Not this time unfortunately. Richard and Tomer sat this one out. But we will definitely be looking into getting Brewer's Kitchen on at some point as they live close to us already :)
@@CardmarketMagic Oh hell yeah 🤩Get ready for my all-encompassing knowledge of MTG Trivia (I might guess the right answer somethimes)
@@BrewersKitchen "sometimes" is still better than Seth did 😅
That was very cool of card market to intentionally skew the questions toward Crim’s interests and play style. Excellent way to show hospitality to one’s guest.
The new phyrexia question was loaded. It was argentum before mirrodin before new phyrexia. The question was what was its name before new phyrexia not what was its original name or first name
God, this channel is so much fun 😊 Thanks for this, I'll keep on coming back!
That's very kind of you to say :D
I would’ve gotten 6 points:
1 for Pentagram of the Ages
1 for Emblem not being a card type
2 for Parhelion II
2 for knowing Argentum before seeing the choices
And nothing after that :(
I’d literally saw Bitterblossom average $25 on TCGPlayer in the US yesterday, but I would’ve been less correct than the 23€ guess
It's close though. 25usd is 23.17 Euro.
You had the same guess as Seth & Crim for Bitterblossom, but you could not know that cards tend to be cheaper in Europe. Still, well done! The Emblem and Argentum questions were some of the most difficult ones I have done in a while!
Dungeon have rooms where you target players and/or creatures if I remember correctly, so it should be interactable with via getting protection in some way. I guess that is why they added it as a card type as well.
GREAT collaboration!
nice fun video! hope we get more of these.
so much support! and a great result in the end!
better luck dominating next time toffel!
Been watching for awhile, this one made me sub, I didn't realize I wasn't subbed yet, love seeing Crim on the channel, keep the collabs going!
Thank you for the sub :) even if you have already been watching for a while, we'll do our best to make that sub worth it!
I haven't played MTG in 4 years but I never miss a video on your channel!
That is kind of you to say :) maybe we'll convince you to try again some day, if even just a pre-release
This is the cross over I have been waiting for! 😄
(5:21) Huh... I checked Scryfall, and Emblem is among the regular card types there, while Dungeon is somehow a Planeswalker subtype, at least according to Scryfall.
(16:36) Ooh, I had guessed 20€, so I was even closer than Crim.
I would have gotten 7 points, I think, so no beating the Asian Avenger ^^
My answers were:
1. The Pentagram didn't get changed
2. the fourth one
3. Emblem
4. No Idea
5. Vampire
6. Harps around a horn
7. Argentum
8. The Background?
9. Alrunds epiphany?
10. 20€
But still a tie!
Love the guest stars. I can't really blame Seth for missing Panharmonicon. The real panharmonicon was indeed a pipe organ with horns and could imitate a bunch of instruments. The Panharmonicon CARD? I took a look at it many times and I was always "I have NO IDEA what the hell this thing is supposed to be."
The truth got in the way of Seth getting that question right , if he had never tried to buy an actual one, he could have maybe gotten that one right 😅
I was YELLING 'Steam Vents!' at the screen lol. 😂
🤣
I love this and I'd love to see more of this. I enjoy a lot of what MTG Goldfish puts out and you guy's at card market make me wish I didn't live in the U.S. even harder. Keep putting out the great content, guys!
That is very kind of you to say :) we will indeed have much more Goldfish content in the weeks to come
I swore Parhelion II was actually Blast Zone from War of the Spark. Which I believe also features Steam Vents.
For New Phyrexia, I immediately thought "Mirrodin" - questioned it because it was obvious, then thought maybe they put an easy one there just in case someone said "Phyrexia". Never heard of Argentum, that's some deep lore.
The crossover I’ve always wanted!
My dream is to see Richard Garfield and Peter Adkinson go head to head in this contest with all the questions exclusively based on Alpha set. The banter about how they designed and commissioned the art on the cards would be amazing!
At the tippy top of the list of guests I would like to invite over for one of these is Richard Garfield himself. We'll need to get many more viewers before he ever says yes, but it's still a dream :)
I feel like the question where they ask what the current price of Bitterblossom was extra difficult. I feel like you should be given a bonus range of like 3 dollars + or - what you guessed if no one guessed closer. That way you could guess somewhere near 5's or 10's and usually be correct as opposed to guessing the exact number. A number which could just as easily be closer or further away to any another number due to Cents.
We said in the video, it's whoever gets closest to the price :) it's basically The Price is Right, the show
14:44 John Carpenter actually used his first lifeline on Who Wants to be a Millionaire on the final question just to tell him he won! Not quite the same but still a baller move
You guys make the best mtg content. Love y’all!
That's so kind of you to say! Thank you :D we do try our best
I knew the instant thoralf said “I know the answer” that he wrote down mirrodin. Everyone forgets argentum
An explanation on why emblems are not a card type:
The interesting thing about emblems is that they were created to have a physical thing that helps players remember effects that are cast over the field permanently, even after the card that created it (typically a planeswalker) leaves the battlefield. In early magic, emblems didn’t exist, and they were just created as a tool to help you remember an effect. Therefore, an emblem is not a card type.
If I got something wrong please correct me.
The MCU: We've made the most ambitious cinematic crossover experience in history!
Cardmarket: Hold my beer.
as a club mate enjoyer, seein carl with one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
NGL, I could only hear Rosa Parks around a horn for the panharmonicon. And now I want custom art.
Thoralf was def pissed about the new phyrexian question had me lol. NEIN! Neineineineinie
To be very technical the plane now known as new phyrexia was originally known as dominaria (at least the space it occupys)
At the culmination of MOM new phyrexia and zhalfir (originally part of dominaria) switch places in the multiverse
Down to Zhalfir now having the 5 lacunae(suns) that mirrodin spawned.
Crim did pretty good here and Thoralf was also right some of those questions were super sneaky, especially Mirrodin one!
I was absolutely screaming at Crim and Seth
What a nice collab :) We want more of this
You will have more :)
i love whenever they say thoralf's name because they just "tghghlhf"
05:26 I was hoping to hear what it was that Toffel assumed happened :/
Ahh it was incorrect, so I cut it out of the video 😅
Currently the Best entertainment content of Magic in the internet, Congrats!
That's high praise! Thank you! :D
For a future card edit, you should use the iconic Ponder art but remove the face behind the three orbs
All you needed was the professor and all my fav mtg creators would've been here. Love it
I must be in a parallel dimension because I swear Panharmonicon had an organ on it. I loved that card to death in standard
The two best magic channels in one room? 😐😳😳 Damn
Like many, I had the Mirrodin question wrong and like Seth I had no idea a Panharmonicon wasn't an organ made from gears.
Lets goooo! Love the mtggoldfish crew!
When he said "rows of harps arount a horn", I heard "Rosa Parks around a horn"
Great content and hilarious stuff all at the same time. Poor Seth lol
He did help Crim with the price of bitterblossom! So he at least got 1/3 of the questions correct :D
Yes give us as much MTGGoldfish as possible!
There will be more :)
This was super fun! I always love your various gameshow formats.
I figured for the third that it would be Emblem since nothing interacts with them where as lots of cards interact with dungeons (venture, etc) XD
I really loved this! Please do more MTG quizzes!
