    So glad to see Jake Mexon and his team from Tuneworks working together with you Michael. He is the only Diesel performance shop to be trusted in NSW.

      We buy these as a cab chassis and will always be adding weight… that is for sure 👍

      @@Angler233 yes that’s correct… that is why we have designers like Murray from @trigpoint creating lighter products for the market. That is also why we have been utilising battery technologies like lithium to greatly reduce weight.
      We still need these vehicles to perform the task required, but we have gone to great lengths to make everything work successfully, including staying under GVMs

    Another amazing eposide of this built, will there be a new snorkel or just factory air intake, is it parabolic leaf spring on the rear, cant wait to see this rig in Sydney 4x4 show

    Are we ignoring the fact that this kit upgrade costs over $23 000 .the inios granadeer can hit close to the same figures with just a tune .you would have to be a fool to buy a 79

      But the Portals! I wonder if Marks would make them for a Grenadier? ..... one PowerBall and I'd have Portals but in an auto. No clutch dumping

      I can appreciate a good build as much as the next person but you’ve got to be off your head to buy a 79.

      Both are nice vehicles. But let's see how each are doing at 300,000 miles. That will tell the real financial story...

      400000km on my 79 now and all I've had to fix is a leaking water pump and shackle pins. Other than that just regular servicing. There's a reason 79s have an unbeatable reputation for reliability.

      They had it out to hollow it out, no way you can make that power and torque with it intact.

      @@jenningstim90 💯… the DPF is in guys. I still have the DPF in the Mighty 79 and won’t take it out of either. It needs to stay legal. I know that’s a bit boring, but that is unfortunately how it is.
      The team did an awesome job.

      @OffroadImages if it is, (which I think it's not or hollowed out) they've done a great job, or fudged the figures.
      Either way. If it drives well and you're happy. Then good for you. Envious

      @@dgplumdpf is in place! I’m the guy holding it in the video!
      It’s also not hollowed out. These figures are easily achievable with this package and dpf in!
      Mick came to us with a brief, of making cracker power with all emissions in place and this is what we came up with 😊

      @@jenningstim90 Come to the show in Melbourne and have a look for yourself... it'll be really obvious when it simply starts up. Nothing to hide here ... definitely keeping everything legal. The figures are real and with all the developments available, the results shown will really assist the future of what we do with it.

    Waste of time putting duel 4" exhaust with a DPF. Is that torque figure corrected? Does it allow for the reduction gearing in the portals?

      Torque figure is corrected my man!
      The exhaust is a show piece of what we can do, not just function. Mick came to us with a brief, and we nailed it. 😊

    Is that engine the 2.8 diesel?

      Its the V8, you can see they fitted 8 injectors, and the 2.8 is not available with a manual gearbox, only auto in the Landcruiser

    Better fuel economy, better performance, completely void Toyota 5-7 year engine warranty - wins all around really

      @@Rob.Salta90 you really have to look at what your doing. I had a Toyota Prado many years ago and the alternator failed after 6 months. Toyota said “you’ve taken this off road” and I had to pay for a new one. Not really worried about the warranty as we are upgrading most items and the rest are extremely strong anyway.

    Bit misleading. No way you get more power or torque without burning more fuel/energy. Can be more efficient at converting that extra fuel for more energy. Simple, you don't get something for nothing.

      Literally every car I’ve ever had tuned is far better on fuel afterwards. It’s all about efficiency.

      I suggest you listen again to what was said. Its burns less fuel driving it in a similar manner like for like.

      @@colinross6259 I can guarantee you do get much better results as I have been running a similar setup in our current cruiser for over 150,000 kms and everything about it is better, including fuel economy.

    Sorry mate but the V8 is absolutely hands down the worst diesel engine Toyota ever made and everyone knows it.
    There is nothing mighty about the V8 79

      Typical hater! One of the best engines ever made. Absolutely bullet proof with the right mods!
