I actually wrote to her when I was a kid, never expected a reply but she sent me back a personalised signature on a picture of her and Bogie, such a wonderful woman :)
I am so glad to read this. She has always been a huge idol of mine.
The genuine article who aged gracefully.❤
Class & stylsh with a serious take on life while living a drama-free life for the most part. VERY RARE! . She was an eccentric collector of many treasures from around the world as well as oddities of art. A magical space she created in her long-time NY apartment. I admire anyone who is a collector as I am also a person who collects things, some quite valuable but some others have cast aside only to be repurposed and admired.
You are so fortunate to have this piece of history. Cherish it and pass it down only to one who will also cherish it as today the young have no clue about collecting and how they are a tangible connection to the past, almost as if you inter-connected to the past that we lived through as well as admired.
Her beauty never really faded.
Always preferred her to monroe, she was cool and the voice amazing
I can never understand why so many people idolize Marilyn Monroe when gals like Lauren Bacall existed.
Louren Bacall Rest In Peace
I sold hear some antique jewelry when she came in the Chelsea Antique market in the King's Road. London. I didn't know it was her, but the crowds watching did. 😂❤
10 years without you today 😢
*_WHAT A WOMAN!_*

@@laurenfinney5390Ironically, her name was Betty Joan, but so cool to have that connection
The blues sings about her being 19 years old...
Funny she died 57 years after Bogie who died in 1957 at age 57.
A class act all the way
Wish she was as famous as marilyn. She was so beautiful and sassy unlike MM
No need to put down one to elevate the other. They're both legends.
@@kellym.6777 True but c'mon marilyn was overrated af
She was if not more. Just depends who you ask
A friend of mine was her make-up person, UK later years, no idea what the movie was, She has nothing complimentary to say about her.
!!!😃😃😃
That my friends, is a movie star. Accept no imitations.
She did not have to marry an old man. She just didn't have confidence. She was beautiful.
What are you talking about? You have no clue about their story, do you? She wasn't forced into marrying him and Bacall often called Bogie as the love of her life.
It was clear that their chemistry on screen was something that was true offscreen. Bogie even tried to stay away because he was married at that time to an alcoholic actress. Bogie wanted to try to work on his marriage despite it already in ruins because of alcohol (his ex wife even stabbed him once in a fit of rage!) Bacall said: "I said I'd have to respect his decision, but I didn't have to like it." She wanted him and both were in love. Bogie at one point refused to marry her because that would put an end to her career as an actress (Hollywood being very narrow-minded about married women). But Bacall said she was "pushy" because she wanted marriage and kids. "If I'd had just my career, I would have missed out on Bogie, on children, on the very substance of life," When Bogie died, Bacall said this: "No one has ever written a romance better than we lived."
@@rumblefish9bogie did have an ongoing affair with verita Thompson on the side and bacall having emotional affairs with guys like Adlai Stevenson during the marriage

First of all, so-called ''Lauren Bacall" was not her real name. I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows no respect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name "Betty Joan Perske"?! The change was probably made as a result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager and or Studio, with respect to perceived anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?!
Yes. Many women and men changed their names in the entertainment industry to enhance their image. It was very common. I wouldn't be surprised if some liked their new name better. As for marriage? A married couple should respect each other for true reasons and not because of superficial things such as whose name you take.
Gorgeous well built woman. She smoked her many cigaretts most seductively, only ranking with Barbera Bain's and Cheryl Ladd's smoking style.
