Hey all, figured I'd drop this video since my editor's unavailable until the end of the weekend and can't finish the Sun/Moon Franchise Nuzlocke video until then. Hope this is a good holdover!
Ready for it my guy
Where pokemon sun and moon video but can't use same pokemon
@@gametoons459 litterally said his editor is unavailable until this weekend so he can't finish it until then. (I read the pinned comment this time)
@@TheNeighbor216 oh
@@gametoons459 hello there, I am the editor. and I'd love to teach you how to read
Teratype doesn't eliminate the Stab of your previous stab, only adds another stab.
Teratype in a single type Pokemon: Stab becomes Adaptability stab.
Teratype of one of your types on a 2 type Pokemon: Adaptability stab on your Teratype of selection, normal Stab on your other type pretera.
Teratype of a type you doesn't have: You gain stab on the type on your Teratype while still having your pre teratype stab
I came here to comment just that you don t lose stab when you tera but looks like you sir gave a more detailed comment. Good job!
It does make you *defensively* monotyped to your tera-type, though. I can see treating that as too much of an advantage in a typelocke like this-- Hell, when one of my buddies was adapting the rules for a monotype challenge he likes to do for SV, he decided that one pokemon that *wasn't* the type for the team could count as long as they were terastalized as soon as possible after entering combat. It's an interesting gimmick to write rules around.
@@coreDesignix theyre talking about meatballs comment at 18:44 where he mentions STAB is lost. idk if you had seen that before commenting or if you were just talking about the principle of no tera for this run
@@Godisingmar ah, my ears must’ve skipped over that part haha! My mistake
I was about to comment that
18:40 Ah, so. It’s worth mentioning.
When a Pokémon terrastalizes into a different type the Pokémon does NOT lose STAB on its original typings. So that might explain why Mismagius’ hex was so strong.
And it adds the additional prospect of a crit just absolutely ANNIHILATING Bronzor there x'D
Also don't forget that hex does(I think) more damage if the opponent has a status condition.
@@mahapatrasohamm it does indeed, you’re right
3:02 by that logic, you would be allowed to use psychic terra
Poor gardevoir, imagine being that pokemon specifically and being able to hear people's thoughts in the air around you?
Especially considering how they look I mean.... Oh you poor poor thing....
As much on having a crutch to make the game immensely easier. But it really makes the content very easy to fast forward mostly because we know it’s literally just setup city. Until we got to late game when Bronzong was unusable for the elite 4. Which made the content a lot more enjoyable, where we can see you theory craft and use fun strategies rather than the caveman strats of me setup to +6 and just spam the a button. And the late game made the video way more enjoyable.
Lemme correct myself. It was still setup city to +6. It was more enjoyable than watching Bronzong just setup for literally 10 mins and hit Stored Power. Overall probably the video where I just skipped to the the elite 4 and see if you used Bronzong setup strat. Overall i would like to see gameplay where you use unique strategies over setup to +6. But I’m just a random commenter on the internet, and I can’t tell you how to play your game.
I completely agree with you. I noticed the samething throughout the video.
Agreed!
As other people mentioned earlier you don’t lose STAB with terastalization, but also during that fight with iono bronzong took extra damage from hex because it was paralyzed and hex does boosted damage if the target has a status condition
18:45 So far, i'm at the Iono battle, and I just went to check this to make sure my memory was right. -yes i'm finna be one of those guys-
When a Pokemon Terastalizes, it keeps its original STAB boost it had from its previous typing. That's why Hex did so much damage here.
let me guess, you pressed setup moves for a while until you're at +6 and the enemy is at -6 and then attacked with whatever move you have
Sometimes I wish stat change moves didn't exist or were much more limited or something. Cause when 90% of the fights in 90% of the videos boil down to "I used calm mind and then won" I just lose interest cause it's everything I've seen a dozen times before and will see a dozen more times before one video is done. I just want some intrigue and strategy, y'know?
Yeah, sadly this channel has become "set up and win" to win every single nuzlocke... There's a reason some rom hacks just exclude them from the game, like radical red. We know these is a strong strategy against the AI, do something different
I get where you are coming from, but if it works it works. He isn't the only person to do it
It's mostly AI's fault for not switching out even after getting several stat drops, or being hit by some status move like Yawn or Confuse Ray.
I've seen nuzlockes ban setup moves and I'd be like, why do it to yourselves? I get it now.
I quite dislike the "spam calm mind/ iron defence" strategy, this goes for otger setup moves too.
Just feels cheap
18:30 aprox, when you tera into a type you dont loose original type for stab
I understand the pain of being healed. I decided to shiny hunt legends on my sword and shield games, but I needed to restart one of them to reset the legendary encounters. I managed to catch a Feebas and evolve it into a Milotic, and it had Marvel Scale. I pre-burned it before the Championship matches. I didn't know that they would heal your Pokémon before the battle started because they didn't say anything about it... Still salty.
Remember when older games had barely any auto heals & told u when it did. Yeah PAIN...
18:39 Terastalization doesn't remove the base STAB, so that Hex was still under Ghost STAB even if Mismagius is not currently Ghost. Not relevant for this fight, but just so the info is here, doubling up between base STAB and Tera STAB makes a 2x bonus rather than the usual 1.5x of STAB.
Was to type this as terastalization is a defensive move
Honestly my favorite Pokémon RUclipsr since I’ve discovered your channel. Look forward to your videos and nuzlockes!
This video couldn't have come at a better time for me! Thank you so much for your hard work!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Set up sweeps are fun here and there, but overusing them is incredibly lame
I really wish more of the playthrough was like Ryme's battle
Yeah, he used bronzong for the fire starmobile even thought It has armoruge with flashfire😅
18:43 just a note- Pokémon still keep their STAB bonus of their original typing even after terrastalizing
I found this channel a couple days ago, and I've been binging pretty much ever since. I find these to be pretty relaxing, enjoyable, and at times funny. Also really love the Yu-Gi-Oh references.
The Medichan base attack is more like almost 170 base stat, not 120. As he obtains a Max of 480, while Zacian in Gen 8 pre boost with 170 base was at 482.
you’re my 100% favorite pokémon youtuber, your videos are such good quality and keep me entertained from the first second to the last. keep doing what you’re doing!!
18:43
As others have told you, you do not lose STAB when terastalizing. You keep your old STAB and gain a new STAB, or get double-STAB if you tera into your own type.
Great job! Also, glad you introduced me to Emerald Rouge, that's been a blast. Think you'll do another nuzlock of it since you can use up to gen 8 after your first win?
18:40 Fun fact; Terastallizing loses STAB DEFENSIVELY. So Mismagius wouldn't be hit for supereffective damage from Dark or Ghost type attacks. But OFFENSIVELY, it absolutely still has STAB! This means that essentially, if you have a dual type Pokémon with a different Tera type, when Terastallized, you essentially have TRIPLE STAB with the drawbacks of the two usual types being dropped!
Shout out to cherries challange who did a hardcore nuzlocke challange with only psychic types in pokmeon scarlet about a month ago
Sorry man you are not the first ^^
Dude your content is always dope! 🔥
Umm, actually, we are totally fine with you finding the Eevee, that should have been at the League, in a different area.
29:06 The crowd cheering gave your side a speed boost, which likely made you outspeed.
Hey @ChaoticMeatballTV you said at the start of your video that no one on RUclips had completed a hardcore Nuzlocke of Scarlet with Psychic type Pokemon but a month ago @CherriesChallenges did?
I would argue you could use tantalization in a monotype run as long as the tera type is your mono-type.
So you should be allowed to use Psychic tera.
Had to drop a comment to say that your content has quickly risen to being among my faves, CM. Your commentary has me laughing out loud very often.
"You can suck my ass" and "The Um Actually Crowd doesn't shut up, ever" were the most recent gems in where I'm up to in the vid so far. Had to pause to comment, because lmao. 😂
Pure Power doubles the attack stat, not the base attack so it's effectively higher than base 120 because of that.
7:45 Fun fact: Gardevoir has higer special defense and hp (115 and 68 respectively) than Hatterene (106 and 57 respectively), while Hatterene has a higher special attack (136 vs Gardevoir's 125), making Hatterene a worse special defense wall of the two.
Holy shit dude I haven't been keeping up but you look great, keep it up
Aaaaand i’m subbed now
This was amusing XD
Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet but Huge Power and Pure Power don't double the Pokemon's base stat, they double the stat after other calculations. Medicham's attack stat isn't effectively base 120, it's effectively base 169 or so. (A max attack adamant lvl 100 Medicham has 240 atk, which Pure Power doubles to 480. This is only 2 points lower than Hoopa Unbound with the same investment and lvl, whose base atk is 170).
As a Psychic Water trainer nick named Fishy I love Bruxish and Veluza. Adorable babies who dont get alot of love.
I'm doing a psychic only run in scarlet myself right now. I got armorouge before the first gym. It takes a while, but finding a charcadet underlevel and getting those bronzor fragments is possible. Armorouge has already been a great help.
2:03 All hail the ham child!!!
Simple question for you ChaoticMeatball, what are your thoughts on the designs of the S/V DLC human characters?
Carmine and Lacey are my top 2. Simply because best girl.
You going finish the “nuzlocking the whole pokemon series”? That was amazing
How I do dupes claws is if the same mon have a branching Evolution like eevee I’m allowed to use both
This is super interesting because I've just done a psylocke (not hardcore) and it was the first nuzlocke I've ever beaten deathless but this team is so different to mine! I had Gallade, Gardevoir (species clause am I right), Farigaraf, Rabsca, Armarouge and Slowbro (which got swapped out at about level 55 for a shiny Finizen because shiny clause). It's super fun to see how differently others play :)
I use psychic fangs to break screens all the time. Great move on a support scream tail
"Despite losing STAB..."
No, Mismagius did not lose its Ghost STAB. Terastalizing lets you keep your normal STABS, so Hex stills get the bonus even though Mismagius is Electric-type now.
When terastallizing in another type, you keep your Stab bonus
Only if you have adaptability, the 2x buff changes
bro yiped his nose to dodge the hit irl 10:35
Seeing that Shiny Lechonk makes me feel even luckier that I found a shiny Swablu in my Birds-only run.
I'll admit I'm a bit behind in Monotype runs as my main focus is on Gen 4 and currently doing a race in Gen 6 Y version so...
the sped-up background footage is so funny for no reason
This isn't a type challenge, but have you ever considered, say, an N-locke? I don't know if such a challenge already exists, or if that's the name of it if it does, but the challenge would be a regular nuzlocke with the twist of building your team the way N does in BW; for each gym, you only use the available pokemon from the local routes. So if you're fighting the first gym, you use all accessible encounters up to the point, and then box them once the gym is defeated. Move onto the next gym, and only use available encounters from the routes near the gym, and so on, like how N will build a team of local pokemon for a battle, then build a new team for the next one. Maybe the "one encounter per route" rule could be eschewed to show off more pokemon species, or maybe it'd be an additional level of difficulty to limit encounters. I have no idea how well this challenge could work, but maybe it could be a fun new take on Nuzlockes!
I’m so used to pre Gen 6 type chart where steel resists ghost and dark I was almost confused as to why hex and bite were super effective
There is actually a way to not deal with affection mechanics in scarlet and violet. you can't picnic, ever. picnics and sandwiches boost affection.
when the 136 Sp.A Hatterene is a tank instead of a special attacker 7:55
dupes clause is just there to make it so its not mandatory to grab the same mon on a different route.
you still can have two of the same pokemon.
This is the shit I live for! Love the videos meatball! After I finish my omega ruby randomizer I'm gonna do a crystal challenge run. Only alakazam. I know it won't be "hard" but it should be fun
I love you content so much but i want more franchiselocke are we getting more of that?
Imperial iron wall! Loved the yugioh reference
I loved that frieza voice
So I have an idea for a Pokémon challenge. Only multi hit moves.
Isn't the Gardevoir over leveled for the Kofu fight? The cap is at 29, while Gardevoir is a level 30 evolution, meaning even a mid battle level won't evolve it
Hey Meatball 😊! So so so glad you used Gardevoir in this playthrough ! Loved how you used all these Physic types you did an amazing job bro glad I subbed the other day when I found your channel man😅❤🎉
Let’s get you to 200k by the New Year brother 🎉🎉❤😊😅
"Hatterene, a special defense tank rather then a special attacker". You okay there Meatball? Hatterene is base 136 spatk, and 103 spdef. Gardevoir is base 125 spatk and 115 spdef. Gardevoir is a hell of a lot faster then Hatterene, yes, but also has 68 base hp over Hatterene's 57. Gardevoir is the tanky one XD
new title idea: can you beat pokemon scarlet with only bronzor.
I say to allow same type Tera in monotype runs (barring any rules that increase difficulty).
Let's see a run with no status effect moves
Don’t feel bad about the Eevee Chaotic. I never ever found one anywhere near the League Gate. And I’ve almost got the whole dex. So I understand the pain.
43:44 never knew you can do that in sv😮
LaChonck was my first shiny! I got it when grinding on a flying type only run in Violet
Hex did a lot of damage because of it's boost since your Bronzor had a status condition.
And Tera doesn't remove your original stab, it just adds the tera stab on top of it.
15:02 facts
Brother the hex did that much without stab bc you were paralyzed
Okay so the question we all wanna know… did you keep the shiny lechonk?
Me (a person who swept basically the whole game with a shiny Bronzor/Bronzong with Iron Defense, Calm Mind, and Stored Power): Yes, yes, yes!!! Kill!!!
I'm worried as you reset what happened to the shiny lechonk...
I like when you voice over your video
Bronzong was a real one
Fa-Ri-Ga-Raf
I'm assuming gamefreak did not design the game around the hardcore nuzlock rules
Man. Pokemon players who nuzlocke are a different breed. And I don't mean it in any bad way. I just notice that you guys love to complain about how easy a game made for kids is. Yes, GameFreak knows who plays their games, but the target demographic is still children. Besides, I could NOT love it more for being easy and a breeze. I work, I have responsibilities and other hobbies. I don't have time to sit down and play one game for hours on hours on hours to train, grind and get frustrated. I love the fact that I can just sit down, pick whatever pokes I like, explore, fight and relax with the game for 20-is hours and then let it rest until the next one comes out.
Strong Jaw Bruxish is a powerhouse
i can't believe you got a drowzee and didn't call it bagooska
Don't you think choosing Quaxly was a little silly considering you gave Nemona a dark type? :p
What about the funny duck naming has meoscrada
18:46 Tera doesn’t make you lose STAB
I agree
Armourouge or however it's spelled is my vote for mvp. It was mine
I mean its funny to watch a mono type challenge
But idk i would like it more challengeing...
No double hould items
No tm moves
And no move relearn bc it Breaks the game so easy sadly
Is meatball still apart of beastcoast?
Comments section:
50% how terastalization actually works
40% no setup moves
10% pther
slowbro is op if you give him the right tms
I really like your videos but you should start banning set up moves. It will make the runs actually challenging and interesting.
I think there will be a champions League in the future when the new mc levels up.
My first and only run though violet was a team oh physics
yo did you choose Scarlet for Koraidon?
One day you will do a no step up run ?
You forgot about gallade a fighting/PSYCHIC type
Springito final evolution is phychic
I normally like your vids but honestly this vid was kinda boring af. Legit every battle was set up 6 calm minds and set up 6 more of this or 3 of that and then sweep. I know there is other ways of doing this. 1 be ause physics types are normally pretty good. With good moves and in this game pretty good second typing. I know your good enough that you could EASILY have found other ways to beat this. Yes this was easiest but there is no fun it this. Just my thought.
Awww no gallade? Still a good video
Can you do a nuzlock of pokemon prism next plz
