I'm going super hard this month, hoping to upload double digits' worth of challenges to end of 2023, so if you're looking forward to that, make sure to subscribe! Also, if you're interested in seeing the monotype hardcore nuzlocke spreadsheet mentioned in the intro, you can find it here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ogMSD8LHL3HXY0_PBL4vqgL3RfDhgKBhVfV7NxOFbS4/edit?usp=sharing
Honestly, it's nice to see someone making Let's Go content. I love how super flexible and fun the games can be while doing these types of runs. LGPikachu was the game that got me back into pokemon after a 4-year hiatus, and I can say that it was a tone of fun to me, even if it wasn't Dark Souls as a pokemon game. Anyone that makes you feel like you're 'cheapening' your runs by playing 'baby's first pokemon game' needs to cope. I love your content and love your energy. Keep at it, Commander Meatball o7
Been a fan for a while, sorry it took so long to subscribe. Thank you for doing the HGSS POC a while back, prevented me from attempting it and losing what little will to live I have left 😂
I'm not a regular watcher of you currently, but I just want to say I appreciate that you're a more relaxed style of content creation. The way that RUclips encourages people to be high-energy and screamy gets really tiring after a while, and some previously chill Pokémon RUclipsrs like FlygonHG have gotten a lot more frantic after getting big. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but it's not for me. I'm glad you're sticking to your (relatively) low-energy style.
I'm loving these pokemon challenges keep up your awesome work I always enjoy them makes my day better when I see you made another video thank you chacoticMeatball
Hey! Great video! I just wanted to bring up the idea of possibly looking into more obscure challenges/restrictions than monotype, like obscure categories of Pokémon like body shape and color. PaPaSea just did one with all the round Pokémon in emerald, but they didn’t play it very hardcore and combined three body categories into one, so I think there’s lots of room to see if any are particularly restrictive and interesting! Also, can’t wait for anything else PLA! No rush, I just love that game to death
I feel like the Fighting Type only of D/P seems like the most interesting, as you get to use the Starter. But unlike Platinum, your limited to only five fully evolved Pokemon (Infernape, Lucario, Machamp, Heracross, and Medicham) for the whole run. That, or the Electric Type only of R/S could be exciting.
I think realistically “baby’s first Pokemon game” would be XY And i say that with a bit of sadness because they were the games that brought me back into the franchise. I hope you reach the 200k i love your nuzlocks and commentary.
probably the best traditional game, but easier game overall would be the lets go games; not a traditional pokemon game as the gameplay is different, but easy and a good way to get people into the battling (learning typings and stuff)
Top 5 Poketuber in my mind, and one of my absolute favorites to consistently watch. When you finish monotype runs, maybe you should check out some romhacks? I’ve really enjoyed the bootleg Chinese videos!
Could you do a Friendship or Stone evolution only nuzlocke? Might be more interesting than monotype. Also you could be creative with the restrictions, such as only Pokemon with a BST lower than 480, or only Pokemon a trainer in the anime used
I'm very curious to see a Fairy only nuzlocke in Legends Arceus. I already posted a similar comment about why that challenge would be brutal...but in short, there are a very small pool of Pokemon to use, one of them is a legendary and thus off limits, there is a Alolan Vulpix you get in a side quest and thus potentially missable, and there's Dialga....which could end the run but I'm still happy to see someone at least attempt it.
Luckily you don’t have to actually battle dialga and your starter is going to be sylveon which ended up being the mvp of my first playthrough so even though your choices are limited you’re still going to have a pretty cracked team
You could always do Hardcore Nuzlockes of Rom Hacks, such as Renegade Platinum, Vintage White, Omicron/Zeta, and more. Monotype too. Omicron and Zeta actually have Nuzlocke and Randomizer modes, and are quite interesting. They were made around the time Gen 6 came out so Fairy may not be viable, as there are only a few Gen 6 mons added. It does have an awesome 'postgame' though, with a lot of content even after the L120 upped level cap. Naturally you'd have to do it as part of the Nuzlocke.
Pokemon bdsp rock type Run or let's go normal type run sound fun for some runs. Didn't really appreciate rock types until I got older and I'd love to see more
Next Ice types then? 😂 Which is probably impossible unless you allow yourself to start with something like an Alliance Sandshrew. Lots of types just not available at the start.
Series idea for monotypes... The ultimate Monotype series. Mono type only. So no dual type Pokémon allowed. Not individual for each type like currently done, but you can only use Pokémon that have a single type, how many main series games could be completed
I love browsing through your monotype spreadsheet! I always get caught up on the "impossible runs" though, and why only G/S runs seem to be labelled that way. Could you explain the reasoning behind these?
Question: some runs on the spreadsheet are marked as "impossible, do not attempt" and I'd like to know how that can be, and how that can be determined?
This is a good question. I understand why Dragon is listed for Gen 2 since you only have access to two mons unless you allow doubling up. Even with the most luck possible (criticals constantly and opponents always missing if possible) I have to assume that Dragonair and Kingdra cannot beat three Dragonites at the end of Johto. I'm not sure why Grass would be though, I'm sure it is a difficult run but there should be enough options for it to be doable.
@@swampert564I wanna say Bugsy is impossible with how few encounters you have, but I could be wrong. Scyther is just too strong Edit: Falkner actually might be impossible. I just checked Silph’s crystal run and with the extra encounter of hoppip, he barely beat falkner. Either way being weak to the first two gyms with limited encounters is a death sentence
@@TheNarwhalAssassinand of course if you somehow beat Bugsy and Falkener, you immediatly have to staredown Silver who has three Pokemon that are able to hit Grass super effectively. I think its probably technically possible to beat Bugsy (with missing and Poison Powder) but would rely on so much luck that it would just end up being far too tedious to attempt.
@@swampert564 He tried grass, couldn't beat blaine. No possible fast grass types in lets go without candy usage..so I doubt it'd do any better the immediate gen after gen1 (Johto games) which would be even harder (no way he could be red, let alone the first few gyms and Silver with grass; too many hardcore weaknesses for grass early on and through out, and very little grass options early on)
If you’re looking for new types of challenges to do, I highly recommend doing an alphabet run. I did an “O” only run of sword and I had so much fun. Onyx and Oddish absolutely pulled their weight into the champion fight it was fantastic
If you're worried about this content being unlikeable and in the coming years you could always try competitive Pokémon. It's a completely different game and I won't speak for all your viewers but I would definitely watch a video of you trying to get to master ball tier.
I'm not sure if you've talked about it, but I'm extremely curious about how you'll handle the LGPE ghost type speed run because the only pokemon you have available are Gengar and the Marowak line. Not to mention that you can't even change your starter like you could in the old games so you can't even start with Gastly.
Are you going to let other youtubers do a Franchise-Locke when you finish it? I very much enjoy those and many of your videos, I just wonder what other people think of the Franchise-Locke.
I found these games difficult when I didn’t use the candies and didn’t grind by catching tones on wild Pokémon. Would normally just catch one of each species. Although I did miss abilities.
Hey Sean, I can understand your fear in getting out of Monotype Challenges. Characterlocke Challenges would be a great way. Play Pokemon Lets Go as Red (adventures), Brock (Anime) or Lance (Games) as an example.
I doubt if it’s even possible but my favorite type is steel so I wanna see the b/w mono steel run or LGPE mono steel run (again doubt it’s possible since it’s basically a Magneton solo run)
I swear, I may not have played gen 8, but gen 7 is probably the worst gen I've ever played. I certainly won't tire the ripping on SM/USUM anytime soon.
After you are done with types you should start a new series with colors (As specified by the pokedex). it'll allow for diverse but still relatively restrictive teams
Doubt you'll see this but since you brought it up here my take Monotype nuzlockes of official pokemon games will get samey and stale eventually. You can use the plethora of fan games and hacks, you can use unique limitations like anime/manga character teams. What I would find more interesting is to do nuzlocke type challenges for non pokemon games like Dragon Quest Monsters or Digimon games. If you limit yourself to one franchise you will burn out not only yourself but your audience.
I have seen someone completing a normal type hardcore nuzlocke of let’s go eevee but he cheated the pokemon candy using the game imposed cap of candy (only 50 before level 30 and max 100 before level 60) is that run not valid for the candy usage?
Honestly I don't think Let's Go is babby's first. I just don't really give a shit about the Leggo My Eggo games. As is I'm really only listening to this as a podcast while I play Deep Rock Galactic.
IDK... I think claiming the Let's Go games are harder than people think doesn't mean much. I've played through Let's Go Eevee 3 times and even without the candies, they've struck me as being pretty easy still.
I'm going super hard this month, hoping to upload double digits' worth of challenges to end of 2023, so if you're looking forward to that, make sure to subscribe!

Can you continue the franchise lock please
Don’t burn yourself out (more 😅)
Black and white Dragon would be dope
Gl on your 200k I'm rootin for ya!
Well that didn't happen lol
When they call you a toxic pokemon trainer. You say thank you

I love Golbat's wings going insane during the Erika fight
You should definitely try a Fire only run of B/W. Larvesta and Heatmor being so late in the game certainly makes things interesting.
Eevee:what about me?
Chaotic meatball: can you turn into a poison type?
Eevee: unfortunately not
Eevee: "I could but someone decided to make that one a Dark type instead"
Not yet anyway...😏
well toxic eevee exists anyway
me: excited to see a new chaotic meatball video notification
me: being sad its not the legends arceus nuzlocke
I think let's go is a underrated game it definitely deserve some love . I want water type next

So anyways, I started vine whippin'
Man is pumping out videos like crazy and they’re all bangers
Right! I was literally thinking that, I'm was thinking I was just blacking out and forgetting he just put one out a few days ago and not weeks ago
I'm loving these pokemon challenges keep up your awesome work I always enjoy them makes my day better when I see you made another video thank you chacoticMeatball

Loving all this lets go love
Thank you for this. I had fun
15:00 ChaoticMeatball x Summoning Salt collab? An exciting prospect indeed
I'm so excited for this one!
Not the 916 Rare Candies LOL. 7:47
Something AWFUL you could do is a randomized monotype run. Doesn’t have to be a nuzlocke, but might be fun!
Oh I would love to see that
Mr. Meatball out here with the high tier content once again!
You should definitely do a fairy run on these games, four encounters. I’d also love to see someone do a dark or steel type run
I think realistically “baby’s first Pokemon game” would be XY And i say that with a bit of sadness because they were the games that brought me back into the franchise. I hope you reach the 200k i love your nuzlocks and commentary.

Pokemon diamond and Pearl fire type mono run
Dang bro. You are putting in the work.

I've been wanting to see a let's go Eevee bug monolocke!
Let's go is such a good set of games. They really made a good starter pokemon game.
You could always do Hardcore Nuzlockes of Rom Hacks, such as Renegade Platinum, Vintage White, Omicron/Zeta, and more. Monotype too. Favorite Pokémon tuber
You could do a NFE (not fully evolved) nuzlock. I would love to watch that and I have never seen someone do it.
Watch his lets go eevee/pickachu franchiselock episode. Clears the entire game with only a single oddish
I'm just patiently waiting for the Legends Arceus Nuzlocke + Professor Oak's Challenge, but figured I would watc this Poison run also
I'd love to see legends arceus bug only run
Pokemon bdsp rock type Run or let's go normal type run sound fun for some runs. Didn't really appreciate rock types until I got older and I'd love to see more
Pokemon lets go Pikachu only Dark Typs

Didja know that in the first two generations, Nidoking can't learn Dig by TM? Those were dark times. XD
I love browsing through your monotype spreadsheet! I always get caught up on the "impossible runs" though, and why only G/S runs seem to be labelled that way. Could you explain the reasoning behind these?
When will you finish the franchiselocke
Ahh yes, 900+ candies before cerulean. A true item finder...
Take the Reigns of Pidgeot. As u nose dive. Make the sacrifice. (Snarls)
Prediction- you get the win but take 4 deaths
Result- me pleasantly surprised by the ai’s shenanigans and your free ko’s
This is just a lets go speed run with extra steps. Nidoking making things trivial with already how trivial lets go is.
Question: some runs on the spreadsheet are marked as "impossible, do not attempt" and I'd like to know how that can be, and how that can be determined?

I know people want a let's go Johto, I really want a let's go Shuckle
I bought let's go eevee at age 43. I enjoyed the heck out if it. Baby's first game or not it's one of my favorites.
Considering my Nidoking carried my entire team back in the og Red version, I can see how this would work.
Super duper cool!!!!!
Black and white Ground run sounds interesting
Wow, not bringing bug to Sabrina's gym. It was beedrills time to shine.

30:03 the pokemon look extremely silly with the game speed up especially vileplume who looks like a kid who drank a red bull.

when I nuzlocked this game, I waited until my male nidoran was lvl 24 so it would have poison jab
Do more randomizers. Never know what ya going get so always be a different run.
And they are fun to watch
pokemon red/blue rock type
Wait, I missed it. How did you get your Haunter to Gengar? Who do you trade with?
You should do a nuzlocke run but only use Pokemon that can't evolve
a D/P bug type run could be interesting
I swear, I may not have played gen 8, but gen 7 is probably the worst gen I've ever played. I certainly won't tire the ripping on SM/USUM anytime soon.
Where is the playlist for this series??
How do you do Nuzlockes where the first encounter of the type happens after the first gym or two? Trade in Pokemon?
What I wish is a dragon, ground, rock, poison, steel, flying, fighting, bug type eevee.
So i was just wondering
you say no “candies”
how did you get your party’s
exp until next level bar to 1 ?
Great video as always Chaotic.
How about Let's go pikachu/eevee with only fighting types?
Yes
After you are done with types you should start a new series with colors (As specified by the pokedex). it'll allow for diverse but still relatively restrictive teams
Do a ghost type only nuzlocke please. Especially since you’ve typed it in your video as the instructions 😂😅
Doubt you'll see this but since you brought it up here my take

Diamond/Pearl bug? I know you’ve already done platinum but I think the different teams of some trainers might make it interesting
Can you do a bird-type monolocke of gen 1?
How about a steal type run?
But what fossil did you grab

You lost me when pikachus head popped up
I wish so bad that all the games going forward had kept the artstyle and look of LG games.
How do you get the rare candies?
Honestly I don't think Let's Go is babby's first. I just don't really give a shit about the Leggo My Eggo games. As is I'm really only listening to this as a podcast while I play Deep Rock Galactic.
honestly you're right, alola doesn't get enough hate. 💀💀
you say the power of friendship far to much....
The text editing on the into is pretty jarring, you may want to reconsider that, imho.
I guess ghost would be impossible since you cant get one till lavender town
How hard would a mono-type in legend arceus be?
Gold and silver water type as said impossible but rough encounter list shows possible
why were you using pedgeot and cubone
IDK... I think claiming the Let's Go games are harder than people think doesn't mean much. I've played through Let's Go Eevee 3 times and even without the candies, they've struck me as being pretty easy still.
I love these vids
What if you do a hardcore nuzlocke for starters
I kinda wanna see FR/LG rock type
I mean, you could always do something stupid like "how many times do you need to use the bag to beat pokemon" or smth
He's not only using shiny grass types in Pokemon EV or let's go peachoe
