I love this game! Thanks for highlighting it! On a mono-fairy hardcore nuzlocke, I beat that Zenith fight with pokemon you had access to in this run. Chandelure (speed/sp att, choice specs) kills excadrill with flamethrower. He goes into groudon, so I swap in crustle (hp/def, eject button) to eat a precipice blade and clean swap to gorebyss (sp att/speed, focus sash). Set up shell smash while surviving a precipice blades, then kill with draco meteor - admittedly a 90% play. He brings in chandelure, so I switch to roserade (hp/sp def, eject button) expecting a shadow ball, but ate an energy ball instead for some reason, ejecting back into my own chandelure. You kill with earth power, kill volcarona with a few earth powers, kill blaziken with earth power while it swords dances (it never protects in my runs), and lastly finish off heatran with a final earth power. 2 mons to do the dirty work, 2 for eject buttons, and 2 in the back for backup plans / to soak exp with an exp share. Also, delta snorlax is incredibly busted. It has the thick fat ability, negating its weaknesses to fire and ice. It's just so freakin' bulky that it can 1-v-1 almost anything. It has access to incredible set-up moves like bulk up and belly drum, and healing from synthesis and drain punch. I usually forgo belly drum and just max its hp and use wood hammer - you have so much hp, the recoil isn't a problem. P.S. 42:50 Fun fact: on Hard difficulty, Nora’s team they she uses to help you significantly improves compared to on normal mode. All of her Pokémon are EV trained, have perfect IVs, have beneficial natures, and have significantly more useful sets. Instead of her Leavany being armored, it has a focus sash, which, with that terrible defensive typing considering Taen has a Salamance and a Mega Typhlosion, comes out to be better than armor, since it means it is guaranteed to survive at least one hit, and has Dual Screens and Electroweb, meaning it can contribute significantly to your combined team’s tankiness, deal unresisted damage to Taen’s first 2 Pokémon, and slow them. Exactly where he lost is where I hit a brick wall in my play though and I just kept throwing myself at it and surprisingly delta snorlax was my saving grace. It also learns earthquake at level 50 which is pretty damn good
When Blaziken Protects and the next draining kiss was a range, I'm decently sure Blaziken always protects first turn so you could have used calm mind again and had draining kiss not be a range
Loved the video, even if you weren't able to win. I was wondering if you were open to playing Pokemon AlteRed; from what I've seen it's a pretty under-rated fan game. It's Pokemon Fire Red with modern battle mechanics and QOL changes like reusable TMs and better HMs, and the kicker is that like the Delta Pokemon in Insurgence, every single Pokemon in AlteRed has a new type, stats, and sprite; there are even a couple Fakemon unique to AlteRed.
45:25 Drizzle does actually go away after 5 turns In insurgence, but Calreath’s gym is unique and unfair in one way; Above water, the default weather condition in the gym at the start of the battle is rain instead of the usual clear skies, and I guess this rain is specifically coded to last until removed (or maybe just last an absurd number of turns). It’s pretty BS when you consider he has a goodra with hydration and rest, and especially on Hard difficulty, where he has a Choice Banded Swift Swim Delta Dragonite, which will probably outspeed and OHKO most Pokémon with a STAB Banded Rain Boosted Waterfall. I think I only managed to beat it because he swapped it in on a Thunderbolt from my Delta Gardevoir Basil. I had also reduced it to like half HP earlier in the fight (after which it got swapped out), I think using a Future Sight from my Delta Ludicolo, which I had used before he sent it out. I forget the specifics.
It didn’t show up is this video, but my favorite delta(and gen 5 Pokémon, coincidentally enough) is Delta Maractus. It’s just an adorable long-eared robot, instead of a rabbit-looking cactus. But, unfortunately, it’s extremely late in the game, so I imagine it doesn’t get used much. Poor Maractus.
18:45 who’s gonna tell him? I guess I will. Hey! Uh, meatball? Mega Rayquaza isn’t 4x weak to ice. It’s ability, Delta Stream, makes all moves that are super effective against flying types do half damage, effectively making ice a 2x weakness to Ray.
For the battle where you lost You could have used delta snorlax it has thick fat basically nullifying the fire weakness and it jas the highest base hp stat so its naturally bulky and you can teach it belly drum and drain punch
Sorry for your loss😢 "Struggle, endure, contend. For that alone is the sword of the one that defies fate." -Skull Knight, Berserk. There is always a next time. Keep pushing mate and take all the time you need!!💪💪💪
I really like Insurgence, mostly because the thing is made in rpg maker and as someone with a basic understanding of how rpg maker works, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the devs. ...But really wish there was a way to skip the Darkai cult base opening because uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. My favorite delta pokemon is a tie between delta Snorlax because it's cute and customizable, and delta Volcarona because it looks cool as hell
Delta Venosaur carried my run through this game, being faster then i had expected and hitting hard enough too boot + Leech seed stall was instrumental for getting me to beat that Inverse Matchup battle. Delta Haxarous is very cool that, it was my only water type for most of the playthrough.
"I just dragged Scyther's carcass out of the PC and slammed it into a bunch of rocks..." 😨Holy (bleep), Chaotic! You are f'king EVIL disrespecting the dead like that! 😱😈 😫😝 I had watched your Ice-type mono challenge on this fan game and it's nice that you are giving the Delta types due recourse.
Can confirm that Muk could have been key for the second Zenith fight. On my own Deltas Only run on Hard Difficulty (but not as a nuzlocke), I trolled Zenith with Minimize. Muk took down most of his team, and I didn’t even have stockpile because I had forgotten that Delta Muk has it in its level up move pool. Earthquake and a Water Custom Move with grass regurgitation were enough for damage, and leftovers helped keep Muk alive. Also, Delta Vespiquen was another decent option, as it has levitate, granting immunity to ground moves, and gets Shift Gear, allowing it to set up on Excadrill and then sweep his entire team with Drill Run from a Move Tutor, which literally all of . Oddly enough, this is especially effective if you set the difficulty to Hard, and bait an earthquake with another steel type or an electric type, since Excadrill is choiced on Hard, but still is Zenith’s first Pokémon. Heatran does carry an air balloon on hard, but due to levitate, the thing can only even remotely threaten D.Vespiquen with Magma Storm, which I doubt would OHKO if you EV trained Vesp’s Sp.def or HP, allowing you to pop the balloon and resume the sweep. Don’t use all defensive EVs though, as Vesp needs Speed EVs for the Shift Gear setup to be viable, due to her abysmal base speed stat. EV training her speed raises it by like 50% However, I heard you say you were using Vespiquen for more of a tanky role, so I understand that the thought of completely changing her EV spread so she could serve as a Setup Sweeper instead probably didn’t even cross your mind. But if you ever redo this challenge, or come across another Pokémon with shift gear that seems like it can’t make good use of it due to low speed, know this: Shift Gear can turn even a very slow Pokémon fast after 1 or 2 uses, if you also EV train the Pokémon. Delta Vespiquen at +6 speed outpaces the entirety of Reukra’s team, which includes a Mewtwo that can outpace scarfers, when fully EV trained, even without an ideal speed IV, and with a neutral nature. And it only takes 3 turns of setup to get to that point.
How could you not even mention the second gym leader MEGA BONG, my man Xavier out there blazing it during the entire game and you just sweep his team like that.
I freaking love pokémon insurgence! I'm doing right now a deathless run on hard mode and with nuzlocke rules on... Some battles have been a real nightmare! One thing that really helped was using a baton pass agility and Swords dance buffer mon, for which I got a Scolipede, so I could sweep more battles with slower but powerful pokémon like Gyarados, Volcarona, D. Gardevoir, or even the nearly immortal Swampert or the absurd Moxie Krookodile. Also, swift swim Kingdra, which unfortunately was nearly useless on the league because of it's ot so good move pool. Such a shame that not many of the delta mons are that absurd, though... Anyways, I totally recomend the game for anyone! It's absolutely amazing, guys! Keep up the awesome work, ChaoticMeatball! I love your nerdyness and watch ALL your videos! Thank you for all the amazing content!
Obviously late but no cloud nine doesn't override desolate land in insurgence Edit: actually it's not just insurgence where desolate land can't be overridden by cloud nine that's how it is in ORAS honestly never played ORAS enough competitively to know that. Just goes to show how OP those buffs to kyogre, rayquaza, and groudon were for UBERS
Loved the video! Would have been cool if you also allowed yourself to use regular Pokemon with new mega evolutions! Maybe that way the early game grind wouldn’t have been as painful haha
Major spoilers for the run Delta Pikachu and richu have cloud 9 and could learn aqua tail through totuoring. I haven't done the calculation but I'm almost confident that a lense richu could one shot. If not, then light ball Pikachu could have. Also, my 2 favorite deltas are delta typhlosion (I named mine shmit 2) and delta regice because it's just regice but he fucking melted.
Couple of suggestions for the next run or a continuation of this run if your up to it. I’ve tried one of these before and got stuck in the same location you did. 1.) Delta Snorlax gets access to thick fat making the fire weakness now neutral. Pair that with a resistance to ground and rock with steel hitting neutral. If your snorlax doesn’t have it now you could just buy an ability capsule from the guy in murk Forrest where delta shinx was caught. I think it’s like 1000. Move sets you get access to bulk up wood hammer earthquake drain punch synthesis rest and sleep talk. Edit: you can also gain access to play rough because munchlax learns that at lvl 50 where snorlax would learn earthquake. Then you can use the move relearner in your secret base for earthquake 2.) mega delta bisharp is immune to ground and has rock fire and steel at neutral. Plus it outspeeds threats like excadrill who it can potentially one hit with a high jump kick (It’s been a bit since I played the game you sparked my interest again not gonna lie) although I’m not 100% it’ll OHKO. It may not be the best vs Groudon but it can take care of excadrill If I think of anything else I can reply to this comment
One more thing I thought of later is delta vespiquen. A bulky mixed attacker that’s fire and steel with the levitate ability. I didn’t hear you list it and I don’t think it died. It has access to both shift gear for physical sweeper and calm mind if you need a special threat. It’s immune to ground quad resists steel while being neutral to rock and fire. Now I get that excadrill has mold breaker but at least on hard mode excadrill has a choice scarf so if you can bait it into using iron head you can switch in and make it switch out or get free setup. It also gets access to flash cannon flamethrower thunderbolt energy ball iron head flare blitz and can learn drill run by move tutor.
Hey Meatball, consider a challenge run of Pokemon Unbound. Not a Nuzlocke or anything wild, the game itself has settings for a challenge run and it's really, REALLY hard. It's also one of the best romhacks I've ever seen.
34:03- I mean, technically you can do the damage calculations. If you have any way to figure out the base stats of the Pokémon original to this game, like the Delta forms, the new Mega Evolutions and the other alternative forms, you could run the numbers by hand. Sure, the formula’s pretty complicated, but it’s not impossible to do.
On one side I love the fanmade pokemon series that have a huge story, on the othzr side I really dont like how many people have access to legendaries in this series, it kinda takes away how special they are
1/5th into the video, and its interesting to see what all you miss or forget to grab, and in some parts undervalue. if you mention this later, I'll eat my words, but muk actually becomes very strong due to having a bunch of stacked damage options all being able to go at once, including a base 40 power free attack every attack of a particular type (chosen randomly when evolved). with early access to minimize and defensive options, muk becomes a deadly stall tactic, and it has access to toxic later on.
after finishing the video, some things for your next insurgence playthrough you should keep in mind if/when you wanna do another one. If you wanna use the level cap, switching the difficulty to hardmode in the options automatically blocks level-up past the max level unless you get absurdly lucky and level through it in one XP get. it also changes battles, so you can switch it back any time if you wanna stick with normal difficulty or leave it on hard for some really cool encounters like delta aron in the first gym. I've played a lot of this game, and yeah, where you died is completely understandable. I don't quite know what I'd do differently. one big thing that may help for your time in the future is debug mode. typically it's accessed through a particular cheat engine, and it can make gathering money, items, etc so much easier and more convenient. great video tho, and I do eat my words.
13:50 Don't all Haunters have levitate? Heck, all Gengars in this game have levitate too, since they only switched it out for cursed body in gen 7, while this game uses Gen 6 ORAS stuff as the base.
I did this exact run with the same starter and let me tell you that the trainer school tournament was the hardest thing I've ever done in a pokemon game. Damien's AI just decided that I shouldn't be allowed to progress at all. I wiped, I think, 20ish times before I finally got through
Also, Knock Off is doing a lot of damage because it's the Generation 8 Knock Off which got BUFFED by a secondary effect: "If this move knocks off an item, it does double damage." Chaotic: DAMN! :O That's your useless Pokemon fact of the day, thank you. ;)
So this is an Hardcore nuzlock of the normal mode in insurgence. Now we are waiting for you to do the hard mode champ :pogchamp. I did it and it took me 6 attempts, but unironically, trainer school was the most difficult part beside e4 and fairy gym XD
I accidentally KO'ed the delta geodude. I came back way later and that was when I found out that they don't respawn. Oh yeah the elite four were evil, and the joke with Xavier's mega item, the fog in the gym and his home caught up to me about a week after I fought him

Insurgence! Tysm Chaotic, been looking forward to a vid on this for a looong time. Well played.
Damn, editing is insane, props
Heeey, thanks a lot! :D
Pokemon insurgence did the Pokémon in the mouth thing before cramorant was even annocunced
When gamefreak brings back megas and gives palitoed it's deserved evolution, I hope they take heavy inspiration from this game. Perfection
When Blaziken Protects and the next draining kiss was a range, I'm decently sure Blaziken always protects first turn so you could have used calm mind again and had draining kiss not be a range
I love that you constantly say the wrong moves when describing a battle.

Drizzle does actually go away after 5 turns In insurgence, but Calreath’s gym is unique and unfair in one way; Above water, the default weather condition in the gym at the start of the battle is rain instead of the usual clear skies, and I guess this rain is specifically coded to last until removed (or maybe just last an absurd number of turns).
I forget the specifics.
i hardcore nuzlocked this game and mega venusaur delta helped me a ton with sweeping its super bulky and can live a precipice blade!
Gardevoir was always in rage, she just had a focus sash
It didn’t show up is this video, but my favorite delta(and gen 5 Pokémon, coincidentally enough) is Delta Maractus. It’s just an adorable long-eared robot, instead of a rabbit-looking cactus. But, unfortunately, it’s extremely late in the game, so I imagine it doesn’t get used much. Poor Maractus.
18:45 who’s gonna tell him?
I guess I will.
Hey! Uh, meatball? Mega Rayquaza isn’t 4x weak to ice. It’s ability, Delta Stream, makes all moves that are super effective against flying types do half damage, effectively making ice a 2x weakness to Ray.
the groudon fight is the hardest fight ive ever tried
For the battle where you lost You could have used delta snorlax it has thick fat basically nullifying the fire weakness and it jas the highest base hp stat so its naturally bulky and you can teach it belly drum and drain punch
It would also get wood hammer at that point, so that would be good for the Groudon
He would have won if he used calm mind on the predictable protect turn.over range whit +3
I thought muk always had bellsprout since that’s the one mine had in its mouth. Super cool concept
My gamer didn't see the sash on Gardevoir in the fairy gym :p
Sorry for your loss😢
"Struggle, endure, contend. For that alone is the sword of the one that defies fate."
-Skull Knight, Berserk.
There is always a next time. Keep pushing mate and take all the time you need!!💪💪💪
My favorite Delta has to be Delta Metagross (Spider), such a cool concept and an absolute powerhouse
If only you kept that roserade in at the end when it full restored to cause some serious damage with dark pulse (possibly)
Delta Venosaur carried my run through this game, being faster then i had expected and hitting hard enough too boot + Leech seed stall was instrumental for getting me to beat that Inverse Matchup battle.
Delta Haxarous is very cool that, it was my only water type for most of the playthrough.
So...
Hilariously.
I used delta snorlax to WALL his 1st excadrill and buff up so much i swept his whole team
Access to Belly Drum and auto-heal options + terrain boost makes D Snorlax a really interesting sweeper option.
But my favourite delta is delta shiny muk because fun fact the pokemon it eats will also be shiny so i could flex having 2 shinys while only having 1
Got an ad in the middle of your sponsor spot
"I just dragged Scyther's carcass out of the PC and slammed it into a bunch of rocks..."
😨Holy (bleep), Chaotic! You are f'king EVIL disrespecting the dead like that! 😱😈 😫😝
I had watched your Ice-type mono challenge on this fan game and it's nice that you are giving the Delta types due recourse.
my favorite detail about this video is that i also named my delta ludicolo demyx
EV training her speed raises it by like 50%
However, I heard you say you were using Vespiquen for more of a tanky role, so I understand that the thought of completely changing her EV spread so she could serve as a Setup Sweeper instead probably didn’t even cross your mind.
First vid of yours, entertaining throughout. Loved the yugioh themed nicknames
Thank you for all the amazing content!
the cult of darkrai isnt the main antagonist of the game
Is it bad that Everytime you say “digress” I take a sip of my drink? 😂
Best Birthday gift ever...someone nutzlocking my favourite Pokemon game with delta species Pokemon.
Omg I have been dying to see you try ANYTHING in insurgence. Woo! Let's go!
I loved this games delta mons, my favorite was snorlax as a grass type is such a super tank, and typhlosion steel electric was super strong too.
Learning a new fact about Mr. Chaoticmeatball intresting!
Delta Muk is great, its kinda like Mega Kangaskhan with its 2 attacks except it doesn’t take your mega slot.
Does Delta Weezing get any water moves? It had Cloud 9, which disables Primal Groudon's Harsh Sun.
Obviously late but no cloud nine doesn't override desolate land in insurgence
Edit: actually it's not just insurgence where desolate land can't be overridden by cloud nine that's how it is in ORAS honestly never played ORAS enough competitively to know that. Just goes to show how OP those buffs to kyogre, rayquaza, and groudon were for UBERS
I used Delta Vespiquen when I first played Insurgence and I fricking loved it.
Delta haxorus and gardevoir will be your best bulks and good special attack
Loved the video! Would have been cool if you also allowed yourself to use regular Pokemon with new mega evolutions! Maybe that way the early game grind wouldn’t have been as painful haha
Major spoilers for the run
Delta Pikachu and richu have cloud 9 and could learn aqua tail through totuoring. I haven't done the calculation but I'm almost confident that a lense richu could one shot. If not, then light ball Pikachu could have.
Also, my 2 favorite deltas are delta typhlosion (I named mine shmit 2) and delta regice because it's just regice but he fucking melted.
I am just now watching this but it looks fun! I would love to see another run of this! Either another delta run or some other type!
Love seeing more insurgence runs.
Then you can use the move relearner in your secret base for earthquake
2.) mega delta bisharp is immune to ground and has rock fire and steel at neutral. Plus it outspeeds threats like excadrill who it can potentially one hit with a high jump kick (It’s been a bit since I played the game you sparked my interest again not gonna lie) although I’m not 100% it’ll OHKO. It may not be the best vs Groudon but it can take care of excadrill
If I think of anything else I can reply to this comment
20:09 You guys think he noticed he misclicked and used chip away instead
Hey Meatball, consider a challenge run of Pokemon Unbound. Not a Nuzlocke or anything wild, the game itself has settings for a challenge run and it's really, REALLY hard. It's also one of the best romhacks I've ever seen.
I've heard some rumblings about that one, I'll have to look into it!
@@ChaoticMeatballTV Does this mean.... Rumbling, rumbling, it's coming!
One of my favourite fan games for sure!
That buizel is evil, killed two of my runs
34:03- I mean, technically you can do the damage calculations. If you have any way to figure out the base stats of the Pokémon original to this game, like the Delta forms, the new Mega Evolutions and the other alternative forms, you could run the numbers by hand. Sure, the formula’s pretty complicated, but it’s not impossible to do.
Bulbasaur is always the best! love to see it
If you knew blaziken was going to protect to get speed and mega up why not calm mind? You would have killed after that extra boost.
Ayyy! Favorite Pokémon Hydreigon! You have good taste.
also, I love this game, thank you for playing it
On one side I love the fanmade pokemon series that have a huge story, on the othzr side I really dont like how many people have access to legendaries in this series, it kinda takes away how special they are
Pokémon Insurgence using Custom Mega Pokémon only would be a challenge
11:34 and the recently obtained fighting type scyther
13:50
Don't all Haunters have levitate?
Heck, all Gengars in this game have levitate too, since they only switched it out for cursed body in gen 7, while this game uses Gen 6 ORAS stuff as the base.
Ive wanted to see this challenge for a while but what I wish was that people got to be able to use the post game mons theres tons of cool deltas
Idk what u were talking about when u said the Grimer's moves suck Sand Tomb is great
Audrey's theme is so dope in this game
I did this exact run with the same starter and let me tell you that the trainer school tournament was the hardest thing I've ever done in a pokemon game. Damien's AI just decided that I shouldn't be allowed to progress at all. I wiped, I think, 20ish times before I finally got through
Pokemon Detergent is a mod of this game with even more Deltas!
my favorites are delta ralts and delta litwick lines. they look so frickin cool
Hey, just wanted to say I'm new here but i'll be following along the journy!
Loved the video! And I LOVE this game!! You forgot Delta snorlax in a hidden grotto😜
Think the Snorlax thing goes back to the guy it's based on always sleeping somewhere in the office
Also, Knock Off is doing a lot of damage because it's the Generation 8 Knock Off which got BUFFED by a secondary effect:
"If this move knocks off an item, it does double damage."
Chaotic: DAMN! :O
That's your useless Pokemon fact of the day, thank you. ;)
God that mega stunfisk is a nightmare
So this is an Hardcore nuzlock of the normal mode in insurgence. Now we are waiting for you to do the hard mode champ :pogchamp.
I did it and it took me 6 attempts, but unironically, trainer school was the most difficult part beside e4 and fairy gym XD
I accidentally KO'ed the delta geodude. I came back way later and that was when I found out that they don't respawn. Oh yeah the elite four were evil, and the joke with Xavier's mega item, the fog in the gym and his home caught up to me about a week after I fought him
Hey man if you ever play this game again I need to let you know that there’s a built in speed up button
As someone who plays insurgence frequently I never realized how important ev training is
