Great work CJ! I am excited to see what it looks like after the corals grow in. The stability from the calcium reactor should really boost growth. Keep it up.

I really love your videos. I got lots to catch up on but your videos aren’t dull, lookin forward to viewing your library.
Great information CJ. Love your channel, keeps me constantly improving my tank. Keep up the great work!
This is a great vid cj I had to watch it at least 3 times. You helped me make the decision on getting a calcium reactor I just ordered one with the works for my 180...! Great Job keep up the good work!
Great information Cj! Enjoyed watching 👍
Thanks CJ, wise words based on experience as always. Tank is really coming on man 😀👍
Great video CJ. Lots of great info
Always great information on all aspects. 🤜🏻💥🤛🏾
Good stuff CJ. When I get this reef thing firgured out and go bigger I will definatily consider a calcium reactor. Getting better as I read and learn but I have got a long way to go. Thanks for another awesome educational video.....
Really appreciate this video series CJ! I'm hoping to start a SPS dominated 130 gallon tank soon, and I'm struggling to decide between using Kalkwasser or a Calcium reactor. Never had any experience with a Calcium reactor before, but it seems fairly straight forward.
Top Quality video man. Very cool!
Great vid CJ
Rashade Haynes II appreciate it! Hope it helped those interested in Calcium Reactors
Love watching your vids !! soo much information soo helpfull keep it up Cj
Good overview CJ! Master educator!
Good breakdown 👍 check valves are a must👍
Squadup looking great love is love always😎👌💪💪💪
🤤🤤🤤 looks so nice, love your filtration and love your tank
Great video! Thanks for the info
Good set up and well explained about the calcium reactor What Apex model do you have
great video
Man you went all out...i saw your 45 all in one, then bamm 120 with all the trimmings nice!!
Cool set up! But what exactly you plug into the apex energy bar? I just need the co2 electronic doser yeah?
great video! very informative. I'm contemplating on a calcium reactor because my dosing pump fluctuates my alk too much. Still not sure what brand to go with, how do you like this AquaMaxx reactor so far?
Great info.
Much Love dude!!!
dope vid! i learned a lot CJ
Great job, I,m getting great ideas.
Thanks for watching everyone! I couldn’t cover everything but hopefully this give u all an idea of how this works... links are in the description above if you want to see everything used on my setup. Be Eazy!!
Hi CJ!, I've been watching your vids for a decent time now and was wondering if you could offer me some tips. I have a 80g predator reef tank. My current levels are NO2/NH3 are 0 and nitrate 1-5. I add akalinity every now and then when my LPS use them. However, I've now been considering if I could get a auto doser and dose things like mg, ca, KH etc. I already have a algaescrubber. What tips in sump arrangement (placement of skimmers etc) and What to dose and or install to make it so my system has as little water changes as possible?
Information wise this is your best work. Up there with the iMovie series
DC Reefer just sharing what I’ve learned so far... Calcium Reactor kongfu is getting stronger
Great video and explanation! Is it cost effective to keep a second CO2 tank that is full on hand? How would you tell it ran out if you didn't look at the regulator? Can you look at your PH graphs and get a pretty good idea? Guess it would be a good time to setup a reminder in Fusion once you figure out how long a tank runs? Video really explained a lot because I know NOTHING about calcium reactors but they intrigue me!
Yea I plan on having two tanks moving forward for sure... only way to know if it’s empty is to look. Glad I made this video otherwise I wouldn’t have know until I checked the ph on my apex. Prob set it to alarm me if it’s over 7.2 as a indicator of my tank running empty... it’s really cool stuff Man U can def figure it out
Great info !!
Great vid.im going to be upgrading to a 120 and was wondering what would be a good return pump? And which return pump are you running in your setup thank you so much
im running jebao dct 12000... its oversized for my tank but allows me to expand my system later if i wanted to add a frag tank onto it
Nice vid CJ...what kind of regulator is that coming off c02 bottle
Lotez Finch all equipment used for my Reactor is in the description above ... link for regulator is : www.marinedepot.com/AquaMaxx_Dual_Gauge_Professional_CO2_Regulator_CO2_Regulators_for_Aquariums-AquaMaxx-UJ00173-FICORE-vi.html
Hello! Do you dose something extra besides what the calcium reactor dose?
a bigger tank dont make you a better reefer nor does a bigger XXX make u a better fuXX !!!!!!so many folks dont get it yous doing it just dont over do it !!!!! love the channel subbed !!!!
would you recommend this calcium reactor?
My man, your explanation convince me to consider a reactor. At this moment I really don't need it, because I don't have any corals yet. But for sure that's going to be happening during this year. I'm not throwing to many bucks at a time in my tank (for obvious reasons... $$$). But I'm going slowly and so far no problem what so ever. Got to knock on wood!!! 😀😀😀 Definitely that is an investment to consider for an economic heavy stock approach on a long run. Great review bro!!!
CJ, I have the same regulator as you, is there no way to control the Pressure coming out the tank do you know?
JCS Reefing no the only way to control it is the little knob ... single layer of tuning not double. Def makes tuning alittle aggravating but using influent flow as fine tuning my ph has been a lot easier
New to the hobby question. The Co2 tank:To raise the PH? Is the Co2 in the water isnt enough for the break down of the calcium? The ph has to be at a certain point or sweet spot to help break down the calcium and this is done via the Co2.. If your water is already at the 8.3Ph then this is to keep it from fluxuating?? If the water is at 8.3 PH then can you just use the cal media and let the sump water flow over it to introduce it naturally into he water column?
smith john ph has to be acidic below 7 before media begins to melt my tank. Actually is closer to 8 .. Co2 is concentrated inside the reactor to Lower it enough.. currently at 6.8 but I can lower it more based on what my tank needs
NIce video CJ question how did you get a video of your tank to play on that screen on the apex
ms. resa 143 Hunter u have to add it to something like photos bucket and use the url for that photo in the apex.. it basically shows the picture from another place
ok thanks CJ
G'day if you put a t fitting on your outlet of your skimmer with the t f/up with a 25mm pipe to the height of the cup it will stop the back psi
What's the name of the song you play in the background at 0:05
Your pH is running low CJ. Have you started doing kalk since this video?
The stock pump on mine is noisy. Have you had any trouble with that?
Saltwater Jeff no issues with noise on mine not sure what issues yours has 🤔
Probably operator error. I even replaced the little sicce pump with a new one and same result. It’s sounds like it runs out of water.
can it be put outside of the sump
Yes
I don’t see how you would create a back siphon on the co2 line
same as with any other line... like an ATO.. if the co2 canister was lower than the calcium reactor.. and the tank ran out of c02 .. loss of pressure would cause a back siphon...
CJ'S AQUARIUMS ah thanks!
What state do you live in
edc_aquariums Louisville Ky
Do you measure orp?
the prob is included with my apex but I dont pay attention to it much unless it takes a dive.. prob needs to be cleaned it reading over 400 consistently which is not normal for a reef tank
very nice man! Tank coming along great!!!
Do you still promote fellow reefer contests? Im thinking of having a subscriber contest. Thanks
yes all i need is the video sent to my email cjsaquariums@gmail.com .. you can share it with me via google drive or dropbox
CJ'S AQUARIUMS awesome bud. Thank you. 😁
Rocket Science. Straight Rocket Science. Complicated. I didn't get into the hobby to become a physicist. Pressurized gas, regulators, CO2, etc. Growing SPS shouldn't require this level of complexity. Call be simple (for lack of a better word). I'm good.
Really can try to make a home co2. With an air pump, bottle , ingredients and valves.but would air make it less co3 ,perhaps. Than its all about dosing and natural states of reaction in tank. People have the information ,oh I don't need water changes. But it's not all from the calcium/co2 reactor. It's from the sump filter too. co2 in generals the topic of plants converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, By using light. But other organisms for oxygen don't generally thrive. Theyre actually the carbon makers hahhaa
