Things Have Gotten REAL in the 120 Gallon Reef... Pushing Myself to the Limits with 60 SPS in the tank.. Alot of work to do but im ready for the challenge! Thanks for watching everyone! Be Eazy!
Loving the videos, I’m going to get into the hobby myself in the future. Your 120 gallon series is perfect for me, I’m not going SPS at the moment but will later. Your passion and calmness in the way you tell your story is mesmerizing, keep up the good work.
Quite the coral haul my friend. The 120 is definitely coming alive. Great coloration. Can wait to see the tank once the sps takes hold & starts to grow.. 👍
Just starting up again I find your vids very helpful CJ you have great way of passing information on, I Carn't wait to see those frags grow, love the tank too keep it up, flow means go man.
Very Nice CJ.... Always advise anyone who asks me about the hobby to check out your channel. Awesome work CJ.....Cant wait for the 500 a few years from now.......👀
I’m upgrading to a 350 litre in a few weeks, your tank is the ultimate inspiration. Thankyou mate 👍🏻👍🏻keep the updates coming... I’m eager to see how fast sps grows in good parameters and under leds, my lfs said monti can be almost at a rate of gsp in the right conditions 😬😬
CJ...My resin did the same thing, I had high CO2 in my source water. I actually talked to the BRS guys are Reef-A-Plooza last year about it and they agreed that it was high CO2.
This update takes me back to the jbj 45 style updates which is what I loved.. thanks, I look forward to these updates (And the awsome progression of ur tank). If possible plse add things slowly. This way we can learn through you to see what works. E.g. if u add miracle mud and start dosing trace elements at the same time, we won't know which one worked or which one had the more profound impact. Though once dosing trace it may negate the need for miracle mud, So maybe add that first to see if the mud can actually sustain trace elements instead of having to dose. And ur triton testing will be a huge help in helping to gauge the effects of adding stuff..
ill def take this under consideration... im in uncharted territory so Im putting any findings on a delay to make sure im not jumping the gun too much on what works.. hope i can speak to all of those things in due time.. for now documenting what i know. Coral placement :)
Awesome tank cj color in coral pop vivid, by the way I have same r/o unit with dual which produce 150 I rarely flush out the membrane. Maybe in your area the water department crew was working on water line. I flush my line 5 sec.before I turn on my r/o unit. Keep up the good videos bro
I would have to say that tank looks so much better with all the eye candy. But man let me ask you how do you keep your anemones in place without wondering what do you do?
The auto shutoff can fail on those RODI units. Water will continue to run through your filters and down your waste line if you leave your RODI unit on 24-7. Not sure if that was the issue. It's happened to me a couple of times. If your freshwater container is full and you're still seeing the pressure gauge between 1-5 lbs, then you have an auto shut off issue. Looking good CJ!
Nice job. I see what you mean now when you said you came back from the haul with lint balls in your pockets lol. For that top rock I would suggest something encrusting like sunset monti. Not sure ifchalice will like that spot they tend to look better in lower light. Maybe a few varieties of something that encrusts can turn that whole top rock into one big coral. Just an idea.
I really like the way this tank and the jbj had scapes thru the water line! I did similar and my snails came outta the water too. Monti’s up to it would be cool. Would the monti’s grow to the water line and stop? Would the health of the monti’s be frayed at the water line?
Karl Fruecht every one of the sps will hit the water surface eventually. If I have that problem that means I’ve done something right and I’ll take that experience to the next build 😎👌🏾
CJ'S AQUARIUMS lol. Nope. Watched it closely. Each square is 1/2". But that definitely was the biggest diy frag rack ever lol. I know it was killing u to look at it lol
Great video. Could I just ask what parameters your tank is at, at the moment with regards to Alk,calc and Mag please. Can't wait to see the sps grow in and just fill the scape.
Last test alk was 9.4 calcium 440 and mag 1320 - calcium and mag haven't been checked in few weeks though. Video coming soon including a full panel of test including a triton lab test too
sunburst anthias three blue green chromis and pair of bangaii cardinals that would finish your bioload cj hopefully you get these fish and corals love your tank
#ungluethetang Hey CJ good vid!! what happened to the tang? :D For the resin we can make an educated guess but there'd have to be some kind of analysis to know exactly what happened. You could potentially also look into having more resin stages to prevent that kind of issue going forward. I think BRS put out a video about multiple resin stages lately and the advantages of different resin types that goes into details about it. Good work on the tank!
Let it grow for a few months and see what does well and what doesn't. I think you have enough coral for a 120, just need to let it fill in on its own. What lights do you have?
Maxima clams are happiest on rock. You should consider putting it on a rock or buying a 10 dollar clam hammock. Ive had mine move around and mount itself on a rock.
I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate having to glue corals. It is so frustrating!! I've tried it all, and sometimes certain ways work and sometimes they don't. Way to hang in there for 3 hours lol. I've done that before.
I always forgot to flush the membrane and divert that initial high TDS creep water, so I automated all of it ruclips.net/video/xR0xx5tftjM/видео.html. Now it's integrated into a water change station, but I've been too busy/lazy to document it.
Never noticed a coral that didn’t shine with the blues? Nice clam, seachem, or bsi glue I find to be the best glue for the money, don’t waste ur money on the triton crap, small water changes and steady parameters, I find work the best but each to their own !!
!CAUTION! These Bubbles seen in the Intro can be deadly for the clam. They get trapped in the clam and stress it out that much that it dies. It can't get rid of it by herself.
Ive yet to see this happen in anyone else tank that Bubble scrubs with clams... Are you making this statement based off personal experience or the overall understanding that removing a clam from water can cause harm? So far I have not noticed a issue personally.... I Dont agree with this statement. A healthy clam can expel air bubbles...
I am almost 70% sure that my last Clam died of this. But I think its a clam specific thing. Some may be able to expel the bubble some not. If it works out for you just keep on going. And keep those videos coming :D.

Wesley Forbes II diving into the deep end with no floaties 😨
CJ'S AQUARIUMS You have everything covered for success!

Been a fan from the first video I watched, I honestly don’t recall saying I’m unsubbing?! Love the vids tho, keep up the great work!
shasa honse my mistake! Appreciate the support
I love your video! Because I have the same lights what is the intensity and time you run them?
Its coming together! :0
Already looking amazing! Can't wait to see how it progresses. What gel filters do you use?
Dang lookin good
nice video .did you remove the coral before the dip or after just asking
Love your eye for balance and color, what is the brilliant orange coral under blue light and pinkish under day light on bottom right side of tank?
Looking good CJ. Take time lapse pictures one still a day or week and then stitch them together as a video in a year or two.
AlexGs Aquarium good idea imma start loading a 30 sec Full tank shot to google drive for storage 👌🏾
Very nice brotha!...Hopefully my new set up will look half as great as yours. Peace!
The tank is coming along nicely. You have a lot of wrasses. I'd love to see a video about the challenges you've faced with these fish.
Brian Sickle check the playlist episode 23 is all about my wrasses 😎👌🏾
Thanks!
Hey cj nice aquarium update
I’ve had a wrasse bite glue before, it came off in like a week
what are the wooden defusers for sir?
How do you like the gyre pumps I been thinking of searching hacker only have the mp10 Ecotech Marine but I feel that I'm not getting enough flow
I would have to say that tank looks so much better with all the eye candy. But man let me ask you how do you keep your anemones in place without wondering what do you do?

Great video once everything grows out u can start a frag tank .. then you will get your investment back
First comment cj I loved your jbj 45 build
this tank makes the JBJ look like childs play 👀👀
I really like the way this tank and the jbj had scapes thru the water line! I did similar and my snails came outta the water too. Monti’s up to it would be cool. Would the monti’s grow to the water line and stop? Would the health of the monti’s be frayed at the water line?
Karl Fruecht every one of the sps will hit the water surface eventually. If I have that problem that means I’ve done something right and I’ll take that experience to the next build 😎👌🏾
The SPS hitting the waterline would be cool. Looking fwd to watching the tank develop and to more vids just surfing the tank.
The rack was only 15.5"x6.5" lol...I counted the squares. Awesome video! I'm starting to not miss the jbj so much...but I still miss it😁
Billy Pipes no way! U must have skipped a few lol.. was def 13 squares wide and almost the full 24” width of my tank 🤭
CJ'S AQUARIUMS lol. Nope. Watched it closely. Each square is 1/2". But that definitely was the biggest diy frag rack ever lol. I know it was killing u to look at it lol
At 12:40 your tank looked 3dish. Its nice I can't even lie
Not a fan of frag pugs either 😏
Thanks for sharing CJ.🤙🏾🤛🏾🧜🏼♂️
Hey CJ did you just place your clam right in the sand bed?
Saltwater Junkie it’s attached to a Little Rock that is right below the sand so it’s working so far
CJ what do you use to show pic in pic in your videos...i can only imagine how long it would have taken for you to glue those frags....
Ash iMovie is my editing software from my phone 👌🏾
The glue will come off, same thing happen to my one spot fox face ,two days later it was gone with no scarring
Great video. Could I just ask what parameters your tank is at, at the moment with regards to Alk,calc and Mag please. Can't wait to see the sps grow in and just fill the scape.

Thanks CJ. You're a credit to this hobby. Also letting us come along for the ride.
Kendrick + reefin = perfect
Wil Macfarlane 🍻
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
sunburst anthias three blue green chromis and pair of bangaii cardinals that would finish your bioload cj hopefully you get these fish and corals love your tank
Marlin Summerour pretty much done with fish beside a mandarin and sand sifter. Those suggestions are nice but wouldn’t fit my theme for this tank 😎👌🏾
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
u should get a mystery wrasse man check them out there beautiful fish I have one myself
kendo boston reef safe? I evicted the blue head Wrasse and my whole tank dynamic changed. Don’t wanna add another certified killer 🤣
CJ'S AQUARIUMS YESSIR I ALSO HAVE A MIXED REEF WITH LOTS OF INVERTS BUT YEAH THE MYSTERY WRASSE IS REEF SAFE. CHECK IT OUT LET ME NO WUT U THINK.
#ungluethetang Hey CJ good vid!! what happened to the tang? :D For the resin we can make an educated guess but there'd have to be some kind of analysis to know exactly what happened. Good work on the tank!
Thumbs up :) how's the tang doing? I've seen fish bit the glue before but never glued their mouth shut!
Prestige Reef doing fine just altos glue left to fall off but he’s able to eat now
Good to hear :)
I’d love to see montiporas in the top left
When you say undetectable nitrates. Is that with salifert looking through the side or API?
googIereallysucks both Salifert and api but I’ll be sending a triton test off soon to validate everything
CJ'S AQUARIUMS mthanks for the reply. Triton doesn't test nitrate unfortunately. ATI has an icp test that does though.
Let it grow for a few months and see what does well and what doesn't. I think you have enough coral for a 120, just need to let it fill in on its own. What lights do you have?
texastitan1989 ocean revives... upgrading to radions this weekend 🤙🏾
Awesome Tank!
Maxima clams are happiest on rock. You should consider putting it on a rock or buying a 10 dollar clam hammock. Ive had mine move around and mount itself on a rock.
Jeremy Casper he’s attached to a small rock under its foot. Just happens to be small enough to cover with sand 😎👌🏾

Hows the tang?
Marcel Simon he’s fine still has a tiny bit of glue left on his upper lip 😂🤣
I always forgot to flush the membrane and divert that initial high TDS creep water, so I automated all of it ruclips.net/video/xR0xx5tftjM/видео.html. Now it's integrated into a water change station, but I've been too busy/lazy to document it.

#ungluethetang I hope it comes off lol
oh and JF Fruity Pebbles Montipora cap
