I think it's actually a stock music track that they introduced to the game. Modified a little, but based on the original. Edit: never mind, it's actually "distorted trumpets" by zero g. But "is that the door" was also used in Half Life AFAIK.
Fun fact: it's actually a (I think reversed) message where alyx or whoever says in german: "Gordon, they're all dead." And the second worst part is that this piece of audio only didn't disappeare because of g-man.

The crow who is with him, seems so symbolic of many mythologies from norse, Celtic, greek, chineese, hindu etc Perhaps he is meant to be an acient character who is meant to be real in our reality too, he is the Shapeshifter, The Changing One, Deciver of the gods, Loki, Satan, Morrigan etc.... He is more real than you know !

I got it on my first playthrough and as i had hl2 logic and had played garrys mod i was like: "radical." (id heard the music before and knew it was linked to gman when i hadnt seen it in hl2)
By the way, the creepy music that plays is called "is that the door".
