Not really when you consider the unequal access to talent they had over the other teams.

It’s hard to imagine a team with a six year existence and winning the championship
The Flyers had done it just 1 year later, in 1974 after their first season was 67-68.

The curse of 1970. The Sabres as well.
They were able to be competitive from the beginning. They changed the expansion draft rules for them. Teams were forced to leave good players unprotected, these so-called misfits. They could also cheat the salary cap with no penalty. Stone getting injured two years in a row, his cap space filled and he miraculously recovers before the playoffs. Trust me, they didn’t do it all on their own, they had a lot of help from the league. Bettman was bound and determined to make Las Vegas a viable hockey market.

In 2003, the Devils won the cup in seven games over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Not six games. That should be 4-3, not 4-2.

@@Fr0sty130 Chicago, Pittsburgh, LA, Detroit, Tampa, Colorado and New Jersey definately the most successful since 2000 as far as SC wins. The 70's and 80's belonged to Montreal, New York Islanders and Edmonton.

You realize the Stanley Cup has been awarded since 1893, not 1915, right?
But tvs were not invented until 1917
1915 officially began pro league vs pro league competition in a best of 5 series. Prior to that, any team which won their league would have to file a challenge to the Cup trustees. The trustees could refuse to allow a team's challenge.

@@Cbee-b4f tv has nothing to do with hockey. hockey has originated from uk in 1600's to 1800's. Then it was brought here from uk colonizers to canada and usa. the first organized game on record ( there was some before this in canada and usa) was in 1875.then in 1893 lord stanley made a cup for university hockey teams.

Seattle Metropolitans were the first US team to win the cup.
Canadian and norther US teams winning the cup makes sense. They have ice and also winter. LA? Tampa Bay? Vegas? Have they had snow in the last hundred years?

If they pulled that off and won 8 straight titles, they’d be pulling an NFL’s version of the Boston Celtics who won it all between 1959-1966 and if you include Finals appearances that was at 10 in a row which started in 1957.
