      @Beth black Most women doesn't run not only because of money. That is ONE of the things used to make them stay. We're talking about mental conditioning made by the abuser. They do believe they can't run away, specially if they say they'll kill them. The age is also a big factor. You can't possible now what the hell this people think, feel and believe in this situations. And still even richest ones stay and have trouble trying to get out. The difference is when they do get out the richest ones have more help to get their lifes back on track.

      @Beth black You have no idea what you are talking about.
      I was not poor, struggling financially but I stayed, I was psychologically abused though not beaten but I stayed, I have a young son to care for but I stayed,
      I was not as young as Even, I dont really know about her family situation and I had my families support but I stayed.
      I was raped by my husband but it took me months to realize it completely.
      By the time I had realized it I moved out, but he moved out first.
      I stayed until I couldn't stay anymore.

      Beth black its Very hard to get out , a lot of women get killed when they try to leave though its also dangerous to stay. You need to time it exactly right and have people with whom to stay or places to hide and also how to cut off information to the abuser etc

I think I have forgotten it all, then in smells and moments of lucidity they all come flooding back to me. Some things I didn't even know I was coherent for or even had remembered. It is disgusting and cruel what some people do do others, that is what sickens me most.....that the perpetrators may never know the scars they left..or even care. Going about their daily lives thinking it was the past and they were too young to know what they did was wrong and that somehow god forgave them because in their mind they have came to some sort of penance. But no sir. You are not forgiven until you go back and ask for forgiveness in hopes to heal the wounded you left to wither and die.

      No they never go away. I was kidnapped and held for 3 days..raped and tied down by 3 men I was naked and jumped out of a 2nd storey window to escape. That was in my 20s when I was 16 at a party a guy said he'd show me where the bathroom was then on the way shoved me into a room and raped me. I fought him I bit him kicked him in the face then had to fight for my underwear bc he wanted it as a trophy . People need to realize this happens way too much and start being conscious that survivors are -a cashier,a barista,a stay at home mother,a painter,doctor, teacher, dog Walker. Anyone and everyone
      Lindsay call ty for sharing and speaking about this. I still cannot smell certain things without it triggering me. I've had trauma patients tell me that it's not just the traumatic event, but how people react to it that traumatizes them. They bring their painful story to light, making themselves vulnerable, and people struggle with the difficult emotions and speculate on the truthfulness of the story or the character of the one who tells it. There is no other crime, where the character or behavior of the victim comes into question, rather than that of the perpetrator. We need to stop throwing rocks at the victims, punishing them for the things that have happened, as it is so disorienting to someone who has lost their trust to see a world that refuses to accept them or help them. We need to stop saying that only monsters rape, that if victims are so common that they are our family members, teachers, doctors and police officers, that surely the perpetrators can also be family members, teachers, doctors, and police officers. If we stop looking for monsters and start looking for human beings, then both the victims and those that support the victims can make sense of the crimes that occur everyday in our homes, our locker rooms, our classrooms and anywhere else trust exists.

      Thank you for this. I can say as someone who has been through this and can agree with you 100% this is the worst thing about telling people your story. The way people look at you and blame you as if it is your fault. They struggle to understand why and how and do attach blame and negativity towards you (ie me) or the " victim". It is a disgusting sickness in society that people choose to look at situations of people's pain and torment, not with understand or empathy, but analytic criticism and blame. This world lacks empathy everywhere, and I believe this has a lot to do with what's wrong with the world. This is why I rather suffer in silence than have my pride and integrity taken away again. It feels like a continuation of the abuse.

      Sad thing is the those who are ardently self-professed victims are far too often narcissists looking for attention, and true victims of trauma, unfortunately, tend to struggle silently, either through fear, or fear and 'macho' repression, man or woman, further cultivating neuroses.

    As someone who was sexually assaulted by 8 different guys from the age of 14-16, and have been spiked twice and have had two other attempted spikings this really spoke to me. It starts slow and gradual and then by the last time had two men beating me and trying to rape me (one of the guys was a close friends brother) I was just numb to it and instead of fight or flight I just froze. Luckily I was fortunate that they were interrupted by my friend who was crying and yelling at them to stop. When I tried to talk about it with her at a later date she tried to gas light me and said that “nothing happened”. It’s been 5 years since these assaults and I still have never had a partner, had a psychical relationship with anyone and suffer with PTSD. And yet the men who have assaulted me get to continue to live their lives happily, many of whom are/have been in relationships. And yet I am most saddened about the reaction I got from telling those of my assault. Rape and assault is normalised when it shouldn’t be. It is common, but there is nothing normal about it.

    It pisses me off that many people still say things like "Why didn't they come forward sooner?". It takes a very long time/process for victims to get to that stage and it is a very normal textbook behavior. Perhaps all kids should be taught about the psychology of abusive relationships at early age so that we can prevent them from falling into one. Most of us don't know much about abusive relationships growing up, and relationships in general are way too romanticized by movies. So when we are actually in the position of being abused, we get confused and can't even recognize it as abuse. Having prior knowledge would help enormously.

On top of which, she looks as though she might break into tears at any moment, but she holds it together to make a point. Breaking down while testifying would only harm the cause, a very sad truth. I knew she'd spent time in a Psychiatric hospital, but not that this was why. Horrifying is a very quiet way of putting it. You can see Evan and other Manson’s ex girlfriends are clearly traumatized. When you are a victim of abuse, constantly gaslighted, abused, physcially and emotionally hurt, its pretty clear who is dictating the dynamics. If this was so one dimensional as you say there would be no abuse on the planet. Plus look at so many proof from Manson himself in the interview. Its obvious that what was suppose to be a show for public was actually his true face.

And yes you should stand together but don't forget us normal guys we can stand together with you also. Not just because of our strength but our support for what's right. Rapists are the worst scum on the planet same with men that beat or physically abuse women. I despise having to hear her repeat what she heard real rape victims say. I'm having to repeatedly be subjected to these lies that she heard a woman like me say. If you don't say no, and you have the ability to,then you gave consent. You sicken me and I hope that one day, you are falsely accused of horrendous abuse which,in reality, the accused has actually experienced himself.
    Will any real survivors be brave enough to stand with me and Marilyn? Or are you all too scared of being attacked for telling your story?

    • @mikehunt7360
      @mikehunt7360 2 года назад +2

      Amen. I was thinking the same thing about her reciting things actual victims say. That lends credibility to her statement. She may have been raped but not by MM IMO. Then anyone who has been abused is in the comments saying “omg she sounds like me, she MUST be telling the truth”. *INTERNET LOGIC*

    • @toebeans96
      @toebeans96 2 года назад +1

      Additionally a lot of the accusers completely said word for word they dare not to tell him no. Although most significant others should be able to read another's body language and boundaries if you're close enough, if you don't say no or ask someone to stop how can you claim rape if someone can't read your mind. The main thing that strikes me is everyone coming forward almost the exact same day, when this testimony was made years ago, and was said by many accusers they wanted to keep people safe for the future harm he might inflict, yet waited years too drop his name. There are just too many questions and inconsistencies. Even questioning a survivors case makes anyone look like they stand by abuse in general, but the media has gotten extremely sensationalized and become the foreground for justice. It's all the politics of it.

      I’m a survivor of Dv and SV.
      I had no idea about this case until very recently, when people started saying ERW was also lying and defaming BW.
      I watched the AH v JD trial and AH’s testimony made me feel sick. She was plainly lying, and every time she opened her mouth on the stand it was obvious, she was so unbelievable. As a real victim, no way, ever, does any person who’s experienced the isolation and abuse of dv act or speak the way she did to her so called abuser. She was her own worst witness because of her obvious lack of credibility as well as the actual proven lies and contradictions on the stand. Her own tapes condemned her. She is obviously a very disturbed and possibly deluded person. I believe the huge outcry against AH is not mere hate from Depp fans, but actual disgust from real victims who can see their story being stolen and presented, as a lie, by someone who was herself an abuser.
      I disagree that not saying no is consent. You are victim shaming thousands of people to say that. I was too scared of being tortured to say no to unwanted sex, do that made it not rape? It was a rock or a hard place- put out, or put up. In fact that you say this makes me question your motives and your claims here.
      However, ERW does not give me the same feeling. On seeing this testimony, first impression, I do believe her. I hope the trial is also public (if indeed he is suing for defamation). Until I see all the evidence I will not say for sure, but this ain’t no Amber Heard.
      Admittedly, that I believe her could also be because she’s actually a very talented actress, unlike AH, obviously. However, I don’t think so, yet. I’m open to see the evidence.
