  • Get ready for this one! This is entertainmemnt at it's finest. This little clip is from back when Cher and Gregg were together and Gregg made a guest appearance on her TV show in 1975. The first song is a duet of Gonna Mess Up A Good Thing, check out Cher's groovy outfit! The second song is Midnight Rider with Gregg performing solo while Cher and her groovy 70's dancers gyrate, in typical 70's style, to Gregg's performance. By now you will probably be A) having an acid flashback, B) tripping down memory lane to the groovy sounds, or C) rolling on the floor laughing hystericaly! Sorry Gregg. I love ya bro, but you gotta admit, this clip is halarious! I'm sorry if I have offended any Cher fans, oh...wait a minute...no I'm not (never have really cared for her). Great video! take a couple of minutes and check it out! Brought to you for your personal education and entertainment from The Rev. Bob Archives.
Oh yeah...Go out and buy some Gregg Allman music. The man has a vast catalogue of material and it's all good (except for that Allman And Woman thing he did with Cher, you can skip that one). Support Gregg whenever you can, go see him live and buy his CD's. He's got a voice any white blues singer would die for. He is another American icon, and been one of my personal heros for many years.
The music and videos that I post on my channel are being offered free for the promotion of the artist that made the music and the enjoyment and education of fans of the music everywhere. No money is being asked for these performances. These are being posted for free. All credit will be fully given to any and all artist involved in the making of said video. These videos are being offered under the Fair Use And Free Trade Act for music lovers everywhere to enjoy and learn from. Special thank you's to any and all artist that made said video. Thankfully, he seems unaware of the awkward dancing, but more focused on the deep intensity of the song... This man's voice was/is amazing, he has so much depth..

@@JaneDoe-ij4ls well she's got rythm unlike a lot of who think they can dance but insist on doing it..or clapping..I was fortunate to see Anne Lennox on my BD @ the Palace uptown and Annie was doing a song on the piano and she stopped in mid-song and politely asked the audience if they wanted to clap in audience participation that they clap in rythm so as not to skew her rythm. It was a very embarrassing and pivital moment for ppl in the hall.
Even tho it was uptown @ the Palace on 175th & Brdway, the audience was not a reflection of ppl who lived up here; which to me is ubfortunate bc Annie embraces, as you might knw, has a prithla of songs that are based in the R&B (Rythm & Blues) style. Unlike a lot of white American musicians she embraced the soulful sound of Americn music growing up in Scotland. But in this video. Cher got rythm...🕴💃🎤🎶

I am watching this very TV episode as I type this. The guest stars other than Allman are Carol Burnett and Dennis Weaver. If anyone knows the exact air date of this episode, you can add these names to this show on IMDB. I notice Gregg is wearing a wedding ring here. He got divorced in 1974 then married Cher on June 30, 1975. This show ran 1975-76 so that means he was married to Cher when this was taped. Yet, twice in the show she refers to him, her apparent husband, as her very good friend.

Being a singer/songwriter from Muscle Shoals and working in Nashville I knew Gregory... he never changed. A gypsy soul, with a heart of a poet. Brilliant both as a creative and intellectual. Soft spoken, wicked sense of humor and an Adonis of a man. A true Southern Gentleman. I always loved his comment when incessantly asked about him being married to Cher. "First, SHE was married to ME", which immediately set the tone for the conversation. Also, not wanting to be hurtful, but said he never thought she was a "good singer", and he was relieved that she never asked his opinion. Even bringing her here to Muscle Shoals... I think their album, "Allman and Woman"- even the title was somewhat of an embarrassment. I miss you, Gregory. ❤

On the other hand I've always liked the Cher from back in the day, before all that plastic surgery, and when she was with Sonny. I think she was so beautiful natural. however I just never understood the Gregg Cher thing. I think I was so young at the time, and I was upset when Sonny and Cher broke up, about the same time my parents broke up or around that time, maybe that had something to do with my harsh feelings towards Cher. Although I was much too young, I must've been wise back then, because I just never got the Gregg Cher deal. Rest in Peace Beautiful man Gregg Allman. so sad over his passing. I worked backstage that night and was simply in awe of how they both performed, given the then circumstances.......we all had a good time, greg and cher both complimented one another's performances.....and kissed over a Coke after each number. I remember each exiting the studio, trying to throw off the press, but ending up in Cher's Mercedes, with Greg driving.

+dale smith THAT would have been really interesting. From what you saw, and know, HOW was it that they got together? They are like chalk & cheese. Right now, I am listening to a radio interview he gave in 1977, where he says that he is in almost every magazine, and that he can not understand how people can" make money off hurting other people", AND that Cher "had someone in a drug store paper clip all the stories and have the magazines sent to her." He said there was "a room full of them". How do people like that get together? What is/was your understanding of it?
