this is great way of explaining positioning of all parts of the body and how to follow through. really loved this video style. no unnecessary cuts or graphics. super clear. thanks for this tutorial!
I bought the Ace and cannot wait for it to come. It was just a more compact machine for transporting. Thank you for encouraging me to purchase it over any other and thank you for your instructional videos. I find your way of teaching very easy to take to the courts.
You mean "less is more" in pickleball. But we get it :). Great tips. Yeah be nice to have your own ball machine. Our club bought one, but a guy is keeping it in his garage so far :(
If only I could find an empty pickleball court to practice with a ball machine... LOL. All courts are taken up, all the time! BUT, I would if I could! Thanks.
When i get a ball that has a lot of back spin i try to stay confident and aim higher, but its straight up a 50/50 that i get a decent drop shot off of a ball that is hit to me with a lot of slice or it goes straight to the middle of the net.
What it will come down to is getting yourself a ball machine that hits underspin and topspin. Have it feed you the same ball over and over and over again until you get used to it and then change the spin. Let me know how that goes. Also check out my new video today. It pretty much answers your question.
Very insightful instructional video with clear and simple explanations - thank you for posting. I am curious about author's opinion regarding the need for, and importance of bending knees and using legs to a) get under the ball and propel the ball; b) help keep dominant arm relaxed through the shot, and c) lower center of gravity to improve balance
Absolutely! Bending your knees and using your legs to get under the ball is important but I wouldn't say its an end all be all rule that you have to follow to hit the ball in consistently. Do what works best for you. Secondly, helping keep dominant arm relaxed through the shot will come as you get more reps in. Hard to learn, easy to master. Thirdly a lower center of gravity definitely improves balance, but how much balance do you need when your feet are spread apart? Probably good to bend to a comfortable positions rather than over extend yourself to "get low". These are just my opinions though! let me know what you think
Thank you for the reply :) My opinions are also personal and since I've played pickleball for less than 3 years they come primarily from my experience with professional table tennis and study of sports biomechanics. 1) I believe that bending knees low in 3rd shot drop is important because a) it is typically best to contact the ball on the way down, which often means the contact point is relatively low, and b) it allows for hinging rather than bending our backs, which results in a better athletic posture and balance, and it also helps prevent back injuries. 2) Using the core and legs (rather than arm) as a primary way to generate ball momentum in racket sports helps reduce tension in playing arm and grip pressure, which increases the accuracy of guiding the shot and helps with generating more spin, which requires thin contact with the ball. Reps definitely help, though if reps are done with insufficient use of lower body and with tense arm they will reinforce undesirable habits. 3) I definitely agree that knee bend in order to lower the center of gravity should be done to a comfortable and balanced position, with the caveat that based on my observations the vast majority of recreational pickleball players don't bend their knees nearly enough to achieve a balanced position for most shots.

You're a fantastic instructor, thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful
This is a video I've been looking for! As a beginner, I know my swing is not right but couldn't identify why. Thanks!
Happy to help! More to come!

Exactly! Thank you 🙏

Haha that sucks! If you film mid summer at 3 pm in the afternoon in 100+ degrees, the courts are almost always empty!

Try hitting topspin on balls that are sliced to you. And try hitting slices on balls hit to you with topspin.

Thanks for advertising that $2100 machine. I'm sure about 1% of us can afford it.
Haha they sell like crazy if you can believe it. It’s an incredible machine!
Superb instruction! Thanks, bruh.
Glad it helped! More to come 🙌
What I would give to have open courts to practice on. I’m starting to discourage people from starting pickleball because the waits are too long!
Hahahaha
Where do you live?
Go to a different court
What's yours forhand topspin drop grip?please
