  • Some great advice in this one and some really tricky signals to learn from.
    Also try not to take bad advice and bad habits from not so good experts 👍

    Just purchased the Manticore and went straight in with your settings Neil. Only been out a couple of times so far. Thanks for sharing your settings with us all. And for the tips 👍

    So many people swing fast and high, they may loosely cover a lot of ground, but don’t really cover it properly 🙄 my finds rate shot up when I started going slow and low 👌🏻 always great advice and demonstrations Neil, thank you 😊

    Hi Neil , I downloaded your freestyle program quite a few months ago , And I've used it on the beach and in the fields was great success ,
    Especially when you go low and slow great advice , All the best. 👍

    Absolutely best advice . Found heaps more very deep targets doing this and as you say over every way and here in Oz have been back over again after heaps of rain and out comes more .

    Agree 100% with SLOW speed especially over ground with lots of iron bits...

    What strikes me is that once you have located the target, you quickly start swinging over it and then it apparently works without any problem. It seems to me more like a somewhat incorrect localization of the coil on the target. We are going on difficult surfaces here. Rather reach for a smaller coil, why don't you show an example of this... what I see here is driving with sliks in rainy weather...

    • @slownlowdetecting
      @slownlowdetecting  4 месяца назад +1

      The skill is in hitting it in the first place, once localised you narrow in on it.
      It sounds more obvious on video.
      I guarantee 99% of detectorists would just swing over these.
      Do you not think i do the same with small coils.
      Best to be next to me and see it for yourself.
      Even when i show people the little patch where the signal is they still cant find it unless I actually hold my machine with them at the same time.
      I say my machine because unless they are set up similar to me they won't hit it.

    Thats the difference between the Nox and manticore. The manticore youve got to slow your swing down like that to find rhe deep target. Where the Nox will bang without going that slow. A called this months ago testing both machines

    • @slownlowdetecting
      @slownlowdetecting  4 месяца назад +1

      The Nox wont bang these out without going slow sorry, and some the Nox wont hit at all.
      The Manticore has a little edge over the Nox in this style of detection which you wont notice in normal detecting.
      This is way extreme hard to show on video as its register in your mind.

      I know exactly who he is talking about and agree that the guy is full of bs. I won't say his name either, but he has a large following on RUclips. He said that the "new way" of metal detecting is hard and fast, not low and slow.

    would drive me insaine running that at 33 sens non stop ive seen many vids on the manti where running it to high misses alot of targets to.

    • @slownlowdetecting
      @slownlowdetecting  5 месяцев назад +3

      Run it at 28 then, why would it drive you insane its quite quiet when you detect, it chirps when it's still yes but it does that on low sens.
      As for the vids you have been watching they just dont know what they are missing as they don't hear these signals.
      It's a lot different that doing one of there little iron tests believe me.
      Like i keep saying i dont show anything i cant prove to people face to face 👍

      @@slownlowdetecting i guess all the other vids on the net must be wrong then!!! ive seen many vids of cut half and quaters being missed by running the manti full blast its unstable the manti will pull out tiny cut halfs running at 20/22 sens any more than 25 and your blowing your ear drums of for hours.ive got the manti myself even on clear ground running in 33 sens makes no odds

    • @slownlowdetecting
      @slownlowdetecting  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@rhyshunter1972i said in my last comment its not noisy, how i set it up its ok.
      Of course they will get cut halves etc im not saying they wont.
      But they wont hit these what im demonstrating.
      They sale on straight over them.
      Its just a different style of detection, you can do it or not do it simple.
      Doing it this way on a hotspot with nasty soil too will increase finds rates.
      Maybe i should film a bit more of what it sounds like as i detect along the ground to show its not earbashing.
      I dont understand why you cant work out what im meaning.
      By the way the others as you say dont detect like me or set machines same as me and certainly dont decipher the signals like me.
      Im extreme and i just try to pass it on.
      When the Manticore was released publicly and before the update came out people were saying it was to unstable and a lot sold them because of that.
      I got it programmed to be powerful and stable before the update.
      How i set it up combined with the stabiliser allows the use of more sensitivity so very powerful too.
      Ive done the same with every previous model.
      I assure you mine wont miss finds because of sensitivity up but will find more.

      @@rhyshunter1972also Rhys this is exactly the kind of signal I tried to explain to you when you reached out to me to help you retrieve more gold Staters from your hoard.
      Hard to explain over the phone.

    You've had gold and silver at them numbers on the Manticore????

    • @slownlowdetecting
      @slownlowdetecting  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, and on the Equinox, Ctx, Etrac, Explorer SE, and Explorer S.
      Ive had large bronze coins come in at low numbers.
      People don't realise how position of coin/artifact + iron surrounding it + iron blob or thin crust on finds + mineralized soil etc can affect the find.
      Lots of combinations.
