I thought you were crazy with the planetarium line -- I didn't get the reference, so out of context that's a really weird thing to be unable to pronounce. Seeing you use this made me realize the idea of seeing the sky in the moment of someone's birth is pretty stunning. (and May 30 is 2 days after my birthday!)
I will once I am through with all the Al Lowe videos. But so far, I might just return here just to hear you shout: "What is this! A piece of Paper?? Catherine!!!!". I think that's funny as hell and kind of makes my day :-))

Definitely, plenty of folks enjoy the "plain" stuff - at least this is what I see from the number of viewers you have. And of course there's a right for both styles to exist. If you haven't played a game, then a plain playthrough is very useful when you get stuck. If you have played a game or are just curious about another one which you probably never will play, then these commentary LPs are the greatest thing ever. Since I have played most of the old games, I enjoy funny commentary LPs :-)

Talking over a Myst game seems almost necessary due to the style of play, but in my opinion it doesn't always work that way. That medallion-thing on the door of the planetarium...isn't it reproduced on the crow's nest of the sunken ship in the original 'Myst'? Doesn't seem to be in this game though.

I always meant to play all the Myst games myself, but I only had a copy of the original, and moving from 'slide-picture' to 'slide-picture' never really did anything to help the atmosphere.I always meant to get realMyst, but I always found something else I preferred to spend my money on. I wish they had done this for some of the other Myst games as well (especially Riven) because I think walking around would help.
Oh dear god, I can barely fathom the guy having to add every screenshot for some absurd date/time for that dentist observatory chair thing. You need to spend more time with these puzzles.
No, there's a South park episode, a old one, where the owner of the planitarium could not prenounce the "t" in planetarium cuz of some bone disease or somethin
I set the observatory to my birthday(Aug 11 1985) and there was a cluster of stars. I couldn't make out what constellation it was. Yours looks like a fish, I think.
I'm partial to the original Myst. It just looked better, I think. Yeah you couldn't look around freely, but that's just part of the game, and it gave it a cleaner look.
The 3D graphics may have been cutting-edge for the time, but having grown used to better graphics now, I just think they look worse than the pre-rendered graphics of MYST. Gaming graphics technology has obviously reached far beyond this point now, and I would love to see a 3D remake of Riven with modern graphics.
the switch markers turn on the locations... and in order for anything to work on Myst Island you have to turn on the electricity in one of the buildings silly
I see that others have also got the Jackle/Hyde feelings about the video commentator! I also have rewatched this knowing i'm going to laugh about some and wonder about the other commentary!
