And hearing him just gloss over strawberry fields forever "pretty decent too" wow, he seems like a good guy but man some of his music opinions make me cringe
I may still be in my teens, but the Beatles are my absolute favorite group. I’ve listened to their music since I was a year and a half old. They hold a special place in my heart.
You gotta get the Past Masters CD for those non album singles like I Want to Hold Your Hand, She Loves You, Day Tripper, I Feel Fine, We Can Work It Out, Hey Jude, Revolution, The Ballad of John and Yoko, and many others. It's a double album worth of songs spanning their career. If you have all the CD's and the Past Masters CD you have their entire catalog. Oh, and 'I am the Walrus' is a killer song. Might be my favorite track off MMT?
1.- Revolver 2.- Rubber Soul 3.- Sargent Peppers 4.- White Album 5.- Abbey Road 6.- Magical Mystert Tour 7.- Help! 8.- A Hard's Day Night 9.- Let it Be ( Is better Let it Be Naked). 10.- Whit the Beatles 11.- Please Please Me 12.- Beatles for Sale 13.- Yellow Sumbarine
I agree about Revolver, I prefer a lot more over it cause I couldn't personally get that much into it. Though I'd rank it a couple spots higher. But yeah, great video man!
As someone born in the 60s, I pretty much grew up with Beatles music dominating culture. I only really got into them for myself in the late 70s in my teens, and I agree that the earliest stuff, while it made them famous, doesn't stand up over time. They were products of their time and the available technology, with jangly guitar sounds, naive lyrics, and some kinda dumb ideas. Abbey Road is the best, because Something, Here Comes The Sun, and a few others are literally the peak of their skills together as a group. Rubber Soul and Revolver are almost like a double album, they were in the same head space and era while recording them, "And Your Bird Can Sing" is definitely my favorite of that era, with Taxman a close second. As a musician, EVERY Beatles song holds some clues to songwriting and performance that most bands never come close to achieving. Whether it was the lads themselves or the influence of George Martin and the other engineering and recording professionals that did the heavy lifting I'll never know. It does seem that every person involved with EMI, like Geoff Emerick, Ken Scott, and Alan Parsons, went on to produce some incredible music based on what they learned from their time there. It's always good to see someone in your age group appreciating the music for the music, not the hype or its ability to sell product or dance to.
Early stuff like A hard days night and Beatles for sale is awesome, some of their best output. Songs like This Boy, No Reply, I should have known better, If I fell, And I love her and many many more were pure magic and at least as good as their late stuff. And I never liked And your bird can sing.
@@Alexander-tj2dn - The best part about being Beatles fans is that we can disagree on certain things but not have to argue about it. I have no idea why I like "And Your Bird Can Sing", it just awakens something in my mind. I might have worded that differently... I don't think the early work doesn't hold up, I thought that as a teen. Today I can honestly say there were literally NO bad Beatles songs, only ones that might require context to appreciate.

I'm quite a bit older than you, I was 13 when the Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan Show and immediately fell in love with their music. As their talent grew so did me and y appreciation for their music (not to mention the whole music scene of the time). Surprisingly enough, your favorite Beatles album is also mine. Abbey Road is like the mecca of their career and I love every track on it (although I could do without "Her Majesty" at the end, what were you thinking of, Paul?). One other thing, before you write off "I Am the Walrus" you might want to do some research on why John wrote the song, it may not change how much you like the song but it will change your understanding of it.
1. White album 2. Abbey road 3. Magical mystery tour 4. Sgt. Pepper's 5. Revolver 6. Rubber soul 7. Let it be 8. Help! 9. A hard day's night 10. Beatles for sale 11. Please please me 12. Yellow submarine 13. With the Beatles
Revolution is a Lennon song that was slowed downed in the white album and called Revolution 1. The original is just “Revolution” 13. Yellow Submarine 12. Magical Mystery Tour 11. A Hard Day’s Night 10. For Sale 9. With the Beatles 8. Help 7. Let it Be 6. Please Please Me (this one is my rock and roll go to) 5. The Beatles 4. Revolver 3. Abbey Road 2. Sgt. Pepper 1. Rubber Soul Beatles opinions change a lot, really. Rubber soul was my least favorite and my favorite was Magical Mystery 4 years ago, but it really changes with time. But whatever, for a year I think it was a pretty good ranking. Loved to see you ranking this guys.
Do you realize that the early albums had US and UK versions with different tracks? Fans debate which versions are better. I assume you're reviewing the US versions. The Revolution single is the one you know, not the album version. I heard the Beatles in the 70s so I wasn't there for it happening but the 60s weren't so removed as it is for you. I prefer the later albums to the early ones that then were just a place to collect singles. The album as it's own art form came in the late 60s. That's a sigh on Girl.
I did know that and that's what makes it so confusing. See I didn't even know there was a single version of that song. Theres a lot I don't know, but I am very new still
There's three Revolution songs. The one from the white album is Revolution 1. The faster, harder version you're thinking of is just called Revolution. And then there's Revolution 9.
How do you remember the date- I’m a child ik ik but I grew up listening to them I remember sitting in my carseat and my mom playing let it be on the CD player.

Can't believe you finally did it! I disagree with some takes here, but respect your opinion. Try Godspeed You! Black Emperor next.

I haven't heard any albums before Rubber Soul sadly, I will but I haven't yet, great ranking though!

Glad you're giving underground bands some time in the spotlight
Probably gonna do Hendrix next to continue that trend

You should rank all Uriah Heep albums!
I love how you have a massive CD Collection on your shelf. Goes to show that CD is still superior to Vinyl and Streaming.
