My dad and I listened to Hammy when I was a kid and now my son and I do the same. He’s the voice of my generation of baseball fans and I’m so grateful we have him in our ears every summer.
In no other sport do fans feel an appreciation for broadcasters than baseball given how long the season is. Tom Hamilton is one of those broadcasters fans love to hear.
Tom Hamilton's home run call, especially grand slams and game winners, are the best calls in all of sports. When ESPN dubs Tom's call over the video replay instead of the TV announcers, that tells you everything.
I'm a tire builder in Akron. I always enjoy listening to Hammy while I build. Even Listening to him while I'm sitting at a rubber ducks game is a treat. Thank you for all you've done for Cleveland Tom.
Back in 1996, I had the pleasure of working with Tom on the opening of SouthPark Center in Strongsville. I worked for the mall developer The Jacobs Group so Tom and I had our paychecks signed by the same person as Dick Jacobs also owned the Indians. So he was a natural choice to emcee the grand opening festivities. An absolute joy working with him. He wasn't even going to accept payment for his services but I insisted. Just a great person. Congrats Tom!
I still listen to the games on the radio. If I get to watch, I mute it and turn on the radio with it. Tom Hamilton is the king of baseball broadcasters. Tom Hamilton, Harry Caray, Bob Uecher...IN THAT ORDER. Congrats and well deserved! "DOWN GOES ANDERSON!" "IT DID, it jumped into the seats! Well, free T-shirt day here today, and, one lucky fan's going to be able to take home Bucky the squirrel." Greatest of all time!
Literally the reason I’m a sports fan. I’ve been listening to Hammy since the early 90s and can’t believe he’s still going strong. Love him and wish nothing but the best for him and his family.
Back in the 90s I'll forever remember those teams and the amazing calls. Vizquel and Alomar Jr double plays. The Thome, Bell , Manny HRs. All called by the legend. Best in thee game kids😮
During "the balk game" listened to Tom as tigers put up 4 or 5 runs before Max Sherzer even took the mound, I turned it off, went to work and checked in with Tom later and we had come back and ended up winning on a balk
I frequently get irritated at the person who is ALWAYS coughing on this show. When you get the GOAT Tom Hamilton on, you can’t mute the mic or hit a cough button??!! Dammit! Come on!

Part of my life since early 90s

Legend
There are many times when I would just go out to my car and listen to Tom Hamilton call the game
An absolute legand
Hammy is and always will be a class act 👍

hammy spot on about tim alcorn. tim used to call my high school games many decades ago.
He calls a home run like nobody else
Glad to hear some people with sway advocate for a salary cap/floor. If there isn’t one the current broken system will never change.
🐐
Sorry about your luck Hammy, but I do listen 3 hours a night. Every night.
" a swing and a drive"
Clase should be good - not many teams with a Judge, Soto, and Stanton in the line-up when all three are at their best.
