To me the trade actually makes a lot a sense. One look at Naylor confirms he's not taking care of his body the way a professional athlete should, and that will catch up with him sooner rather than later. Better to get what can be gotten for him, rather than waiting until he's a free agent and losing him for nothing. I just wish they could have gotten a little more for him, but given the way they develop pitchers we'll probably look back on this one five years from now and find the verdict is they did a Kluber for Classee kind of trade. Mark my words. Anyone we have now. Big Christmas or Manzardo.. Kwan.. If any of them get good. They will be sure to be shipped out a year before it's contract time for more prospects. We was almost to the show. So does the 2-6 pitcher with a 6.66 era or the competitive balance round b pick make them better next year. I'm glad to say. I will not be watching to find out
Take a look at Josh's 2d half stats, defense and attitude and then tell me how good you think he's going to be next year. Why do you think that was the best trade they could make for him. That should tell you something. Get off the full year batting stats. You should be better than that if you're going to talk Guardians.
For the billionth time, stop comparing the Guardians to the Browns. No shit they’re a better run organization. That bar is so low that it’s underground. We need to compare the Guardians to other MLB teams in their division and similar markets. What are the Tigers and Royals doing? Are THEY trading away bats and good defenders for players that MIGHT help them in a year or two? Hell, the Tigers were SELLERS at the deadline and they still put up a fight against us in the playoffs. Has the front office earned some benefit of the doubt? Sure. But they’re also the team with the longest World Series drought so they deserve less than what they’re getting. The Dolans have taken for granted Tito, a weak AL Central and the fans for basically a decade. If we’re comparing the Guardians to another local team, let’s compare them to the Cavs, a team who spends, drafts well, trades well and managed to resign a big free agent in a small market.
Ok. So would I be correct in saying the team is worse now to possibly be better in the future. It's a pattern people. They paid Jose. He was the only one who was ever gonna get paid. Then they signed Giminez to very heavily back ended contact . So after a couple years. Gone. F this team . Ps. Thank God for Dan Gilbert
Why should they get the benefit of the doubt. They never win it all. Ever. Ever. And never will. It's not hard to see that. I knew I should have Bailed on them when they bailed on Wahoo. Track record is good at getting good players in return. But then they get shipped. It's awful. Ef them
We needed the upgrade in defense on the right side now that Gimenez is gone. Santana is a better defensive first baseman and practically the same offensively. We will all miss Naylor, but Manzardo is the replacement, and Santana gives him another year and another brain to learn from. Go Guards!!
@Bull ~ you have some good takes, opinions, and insights. This is not one of them. Here is why. You assume that Naylor will repeat 31 HR and 100 RBI. When Josh Naylor hits .240 avg and 16 HR and striking out at the rate he did the last three months of the year as well as spending 30 or more days on the disable list, then how will you feel about this trade? If Josh Naylor has the first year statistics as Lindor had his first year with the Mets, then how will you feel about this trade? Santana gives you the same offensive value (in a different way) as Josh Naylor and Santana provides MUCH better defense. I hope you revisit this trade in the middle of August 2025.

Never
Mark my words.
Win what. We can’t get past the first playoff games.
But…we did? Lmao team was literally in the ALCS. Weird take.
G bush brother you should not be on this panel about the Guardians it's embarrassing
Hey. If being the Division winner and nothing else is fine. Be a fan. If your sick of this shit. Quit supporting.
Bull is going to explode so fat
Why should they get the benefit of the doubt. They never win it all. Ever. Ever. And never will. It's not hard to see that. I knew I should have Bailed on them when they bailed on Wahoo. Track record is good at getting good players in return. But then they get shipped. It's awful. Ef them
We needed the upgrade in defense on the right side now that Gimenez is gone. Santana is a better defensive first baseman and practically the same offensively.
We will all miss Naylor, but Manzardo is the replacement, and Santana gives him another year and another brain to learn from. Go Guards!!
Bull is wrong about this point blank . Manzardo has way more upside and is ready to play
santana a way better player then naylor he suck at first base which is crazy . he slumped the while second half . he not great at nothing
He’s not even close to as good as naylor. Go croak.
Naylor is a bum
McKenzie gives up too many homers.
He’s gonna become their ace again
@@Ikmmmjjy We can hope.
Can someone at UCSS pay for English classes for G Bush, he has become absolutely unlistenable. I am shocked he doesn't take more pride in himself so that his points are taken more seriously.
So many people in the comments who don’t know shit about baseball. People acting like Naylor is the key to a WS or something.
He’s a great player. I’m sorry that you were born with a deformed skull.
