The day Hammy retires may be the saddest day in Cleveland sports. Cherishing every pitch of every game while I can, thank you for being the centerpiece of all of my Indians/Guardians memories in my 30 years on earth, Tom❤
In my opinion the best to ever call games. Some of my best baseball memories are Tom calling home runs and great plays. A true fan, not just a play caller. Congratulations on the Frick and HOF. You earned it and deserve it.
Thank you Mr. Hamilton. (Hammy). I Would love to meet . Congratulations!!!.We Cleveland fans have been so grateful on having you on our airwaves. It's going to be a sad day whenever you decide to call it quits. 😥. But until then I will cherish your every Call. Ballgame ❤️🙏⚾️🙏
WE moved from NJ in 1998 and I found Tom Hamilton annoying. But, over the last 26 years two things happened. I stopped rooting for the Yankees, something I thought would never happen, and I am an abashed Cleveland Guardian fan. 2016 was just a gut punch. This Guardian team is the best. And Tom Hamilton absolutely deserves this award. He is so loyal to this team and this City. And his comments on Hank Peters contribution to the Baseball revival in this town are so spot on. I am so happy to root for this club and I am ecstatic for Tom Hamilton. Thank god he beat out John Sterling.
I got so used to seeing Hammy overlooked that the announcement came as a surprise. All I can say is that I grew up listening to Ernie Harwell and if I think Tom Hamilton is deserving, he's deserving. He does the greatest thing an announcer can do which is describe the game, give a performance to be sure, but never to make it about him. Might be a 3-2 snorefest in the middle of May, but it's always about the game.
Congratulations Hammy! Well deserved! I will be very sad the day you retire! I'm 57 and most of my life has been hearing your calls of Cleveland baseball! You are the best Mr Hamilton!
Tom Hamilton has always been the voice of cleveland sports for me. I fell in love with baseball as a kid because of the way that tom calls games. Jim Donovan and fred mcleod are legendary but when you hear tom call a home run you feel like you're actually there watching it happen. I hope with all my heart that he has many more years left in the booth AND that he gets to call the first world series win since '48.
He is a great play-by-play man. But for all his iconic calls over the last 35 years, and the great signature lines like, "There's a drive, to deep right, a-way back. Gone!" He'll be remembered forever for one call: "DOWN GOES ANDERSON! DOWN GOES ANDERSON!"
Take away the names and look at the stats...I don't think it was that bad. Unfortunately when you're a small market team you cant afford to get attached. With Bazzana coming and the way Gimenez was hitting, they kinda had to move him, and with the price of starting pitching these day to get three of them for him? Fine by me.

Hearing Tom's voice in the spring always brightens the day.
You are not #10, Hammy. You are the G.O.A.T. We love you, Tom.❤
HOW ABOUT THAT?!
CONGRATULATIONS, HAMMY!!!
Very much well deserved, Tom!!!
Haha, I read that in his voice! “Well how about that”
Absolute legend. Can't believe it's taken this long for him to get in. No better voice in baseball!!

Absolutely deserves to be in the HOF. Legendary play caller for an underdog team. Cleveland loves ya Hammy!
Great interview, Nick. I love Tommy’s humility, his approval rating will be 100% with the fans forevermore.
Huge Tom Hamilton fan, my mother is vissially impared and she gets to experience the games in vivid detail thanks to his top notch broadcasting.
He is ONE of the best play by play brocaster.

The absolute best. Irreplaceable. Congratulations Hammy, well deserved.
to a great sportscaster that I had the pleasure to work with in a great sports market. Tom, you made the Indians fun to listen to throughout the '90s
“Down goes Anderson” - hammy 2023
“Swing in a drive high and deep and way out of here”

A radio guy wishing he had a recording of the call and not a video! Perfection!
Great announcer!!

The Dolan's are garbage they need to sell the team to someone who will put money into them and spend there money for a championship team smh
