    First! Oh, you probably weren't expecting this video to pop up today. I said Sunday, but I got lucky and the first audio mix was decent once uploaded, so I just decided to go ahead and publish it. Let me know what you think! I'll see you in the next BIG video, a documentary/retrospective about Gunpei Yokoi, and the Nintendo GameBoy!

    I have a Vita but I miss my PSP so bad. I used to have hundreds of games, but they got lost and sold as time went on. It was a magical time for me, for sure. The memories I have of staying up and playing so many titles... I totally miss it.

    Fantastic job on this! Kinda shocked that you seem to have more PSP systems than games themselves!
    Still, thoroughly enjoyed watching. Love the production values- particularly the way you present the games on your little spinning display + stand. Might need to steal these ideas!

    hey man, i just stumbled upon your video trying to find games to pick up and i must say, you've convinced me to pick up games i've been holding off on for so long like metal gear series on psp and yggdra union
    your editing's also perfect for showcasing the games with the voice recording on top of it to let the viewers know your thoughts(and your voice is just right when it comes to this, not distracting and blends in with the video)
    you're very underrated

    I picked up a 1001 and 3001 piano black and couldn't be happier. Physical games/movies are surprisingly inexpensive, so the PSP is an excellent entry point for gamers that want to start thier own retro collection. I would recommend modifying the software and make digital backups of all your UMD disks as the lone weak point of the system were the delicate UMD drive and disks that can break easily.

    25:30 NFS CARBON is one of the best NFS for PSP yes theres some issues glitching the road suddenly went all black and i noticed that its the issues with hardware with the PSP, i tried it with the latest 3001 series japanese version and its loading smooth and no issues at all,BTW that GREEN PSP is stunning like menthol vibe. 😏

    Just pulled out my old PSP today and debating on modding it. Already modded my Vita so not sure if I want to bother with my PSP though once it's modded I could dump my games which would be cool then I could play them on my Vita. Is there a reason to play PSP itself over Vita?

    • @Jonnicom
      @Jonnicom  4 месяца назад

      @@Raphtor13 Great question. The answer is yes!
      The games will look better with their natural resolution on the PSP, and no lag. Vita PSP Emulation using Adrenaline introduces very noticeable lag to me.

    How do you deal with battery life? I still have my psp and i bought some third party bootleg batteries and theyre horrible, they die after 1-2 hrs of use. I watched some 4000mah mod youtube tutorials but im little hesitant doing it on my own. Do you mod the battery of yours?

      Well, that really depends on what you want to get out of it. As an on the go, cheap emulation device? Absolutely. It will do what most of the emulator market does today at usually half the cost. On the other hand, if you like collecting video games physically, it's not a terribly expensive system to start a collection for!
      I can't say it's a bad idea in any situation, the console can be found relatively cheap online and it has tons of capabilities!

    It's kinda funny that you knock Twisted Metal for trying "to be too edgy," and then you say your favourite band is My Chemical Romance - who is way worse for that lol

      @@Jonnicom
      I have listened to them. I don't mind some of their songs. But just in those short clips where you were showing their documentary you can see them trying to be edgy - the way they dress, all the blood on their pictures and logos, and the circle of guns around that sign (or whatever it was).
      I'm not a Twisted Metal fan by any means, I was just amused by what you said.
      I did really like your video though. Where do you buy most of your PSP's?

    • @Jonnicom
      @Jonnicom  4 месяца назад

      @@ericrenaud1733I'd suggest actually watching or researching the doc or the band before just assuming they're trying to be edgy. Seriously, I suggest checking them out in depth! Rock music, as long as it's been popular, has been associated with it's imagery. A band has a sound, attitude, and look to match if they're successful. Everyone in that band is a talent and not at all trying to be edgy - but it's too much to simply type up an explanation. This is gonna be a book anyway, but to keep it shorter, they may truly be one of the last great "big rock bands" we'll see for a good while. I''m guessing your comment came from associating them with the "emo" label, which I always found funny because no other bands who got that label ever sounded like them. It's easy to look at their imagery and hear a few singles and think that they are the pinnacle of the genre simply because they were popular. But in reality, they sounded nothing like any other emo acts. If anything, they sounded like 80s and 90s punk bands early on and even 80s metal on their second album. 3rd Album was an amazing tribute to all sorts of classic rock from ELO to Queen to Aerosmith. They were simply an amazing rock band who was having fun the whole time. And who pushed a message that being messed up is okay because they themselves had mental health struggles too! Despite that, they channeled all of that energy into music trying to help people. And that's what was important to me. They got labeled as depressing and edgy. In reality they were and still are one of the most fun bands to watch and listen to if you decided to put in the effort. I'd suggest starting with Danger Days and working your way back to understand if you take the time. Heck, watch some of their reunion shows - they're having the time of their lives.
      I'm not a Twisted Metal fan either... as I said in the video. A lot of these games are things I'm not into and just kinda got in lots while hunting the games I really wanted! So I try to be honest about if I've tried something or not. I don't want to give my opinions on a game if I feel I haven't given it enough time to understand it. Just give my surface opinion and make it obvious... so I'm obviously not an authority on it lol.
      The PSPs I get anywhere, but if you want a good one I'd suggest trying to buy on eBay from well feedback'd Japanese sellers. Even when they mark things as not very good or not perfect - in my and many others experiences, they tend to be pretty minty. Japanese people seem to take a lot better care of their belongings than other nations. Definitely have more respect for their belongings than a lot of people here in the ole US of A.
