Jonnicom - Season 1 Series Compilation
Enjoy over 5 hours of Jonnicom! If you can stomach me for that long...
Just a reupload of the main episodes up until now in one convenient package. Some changes are coming to the format and schedule of the show soon, so this felt like a good place to call "Season 1"...

      It's a great fix. The next best thing is a new pin connector, but I try to avoid those because they tend to be too tight and can damage game pins if you aren't careful.

      @@Jonnicom I have listened to them. I don't mind some of their songs. But just in those short clips where you were showing their documentary you can see them trying to be edgy - the way they dress, all the blood on their pictures and logos, and the circle of guns around that sign (or whatever it was). I'm not a Twisted Metal fan by any means, I was just amused by what you said. I did really like your video though. Where do you buy most of your PSP's?

    • @Jonnicom
      @Jonnicom Месяц назад

      @@ericrenaud1733I'd suggest actually watching or researching the doc or the band before just assuming they're trying to be edgy. Seriously, I suggest checking them out in depth! Rock music, as long as it's been popular, has been associated with it's imagery. A band has a sound, attitude, and look to match if they're successful. Everyone in that band is a talent and not at all trying to be edgy - but it's too much to simply type up an explanation. This is gonna be a book anyway, but to keep it shorter, they may truly be one of the last great "big rock bands" we'll see for a good while. I''m guessing your comment came from associating them with the "emo" label, which I always found funny because no other bands who got that label ever sounded like them. It's easy to look at their imagery and hear a few singles and think that they are the pinnacle of the genre simply because they were popular. But in reality, they sounded nothing like any other emo acts. If anything, they sounded like 80s and 90s punk bands early on and even 80s metal on their second album. 3rd Album was an amazing tribute to all sorts of classic rock from ELO to Queen to Aerosmith. They were simply an amazing rock band who was having fun the whole time. And who pushed a message that being messed up is okay because they themselves had mental health struggles too! Despite that, they channeled all of that energy into music trying to help people. And that's what was important to me. They got labeled as depressing and edgy. In reality they were and still are one of the most fun bands to watch and listen to if you decided to put in the effort. I'd suggest starting with Danger Days and working your way back to understand if you take the time. Heck, watch some of their reunion shows - they're having the time of their lives. I'm not a Twisted Metal fan either... as I said in the video. A lot of these games are things I'm not into and just kinda got in lots while hunting the games I really wanted! So I try to be honest about if I've tried something or not. I don't want to give my opinions on a game if I feel I haven't given it enough time to understand it. Just give my surface opinion and make it obvious... so I'm obviously not an authority on it lol. The PSPs I get anywhere, but if you want a good one I'd suggest trying to buy on eBay from well feedback'd Japanese sellers. Even when they mark things as not very good or not perfect - in my and many others experiences, they tend to be pretty minty. Japanese people seem to take a lot better care of their belongings than other nations. Definitely have more respect for their belongings than a lot of people here in the ole US of A.

    I appreciate videos like this. I mean yeah, I was incredibly-lucky to have found an NEC XM2960 in the Orlando region 13.5 years ago off Craigslist for a mere $50. Yet now, despite the inputs and such offered, I honestly don't need something THAT fancy. I'd honestly step down to a freebie Compaq MV920 I got in Tampa 7 years ago with a decent linedoubler for retro stuff (anything sub-VGA horizontal scan), and then use it with all my DOS/Win9x machines. As far as other CRTs I want to keep, I have all my Commodore ones (1702, Philips and Daewoo-made 1084 series units), and a really nice RCA Dimensia 27" floor console (which has a peculiar port I hope to mod to accept SCART-RGB input). Other than those and needing to make whatever repairs are needed, I just want to stop CRT hunting, and just start getting back to enjoying games as I remembered.

    It's definitely a solid little console. Didn't do enough technically or have enough big-name titles to truly challenge the other big hitters in that generation, but some very good games regardless. And the place to go for a plethora of great "16-bit" shumps for sure.

    • @MarquisDeSang

      It has better graphics than SNES and Genesis.

    • @inceptional

      @@MarquisDeSang Well, let's get into that: The stock SNES has a 16-bit CPU vs the stock PC Engine's 8-bit CPU, up to 4X as many colours on-screen when in standard direct colour in Mode 3 (before any also standard colour math is applied), a 64x bigger master palette, up to 4x as many background layers, twice as many sprites on-screen max, 32 sprites per scanline vs 16 sprites per scanline, 272 sprite pixels per scanline vs 256 sprite pixels per scanline, larger max sprite size, 16x as much Work RAM, 64k dedicated Audio RAM, proper built-in multi-coloured transparency effects, built-in column scrolling, built-in full-screen full-resolution 60fps Mode 7 background rotation and scaling, built-in [colour] window masks, built-in HDMA, 512x448i max resolution without any tricks or hacks, background per-tile high/low priority, 8 channel PCM audio with Dolby Surround sound capability, and has a default controller with far more inputs and far greater versatility, etc, which says the stock SNES is technically better than the stock PC Engine almost across the board. It's a pretty similar situation when comparing the stock Genesis to the stock PC Engine, although the PC Engine definitely trumps the Genesis when it comes to colours, with 8x as many colours on-screen (but more like 2x as many if Genesis is using shadow/highlight mode). The stock PC Engine does have a faster CPU than the stock SNES, even a tiny bit more efficient than the Genesis too apparently, and can apparently DMA during active display, which neither the SNES or Genesis can. The PC Engine is a cool little system for what it is. And It has some great shmups for sure.

    Actually it was a side game to the final fantasy series, the full Japanese title of the game was Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. Seiken Densetsu was originally going to be the subtitle of their game project The Emergence of Excalibur for the Famicom but that project was scrapped. After Final Fantasy 3 was released Square offered designer Koichi Ishii to direct a spin-off series game. It began development for the Game Boy under the working title Gemma Knights; eventually, Square revived the trademarked name and released the game as Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. It's why moogles make an appearance, as well as a chocobo.... with the most ear grating chocobo theme.

    Just out of curiosity, does your toshiba handle well with vertical linearity? I mean its quite visble on the footage, but directly it might look different. I recently got my 15 inch flat toshiba with s-video and rgb scart (greetings from PAL btw), its just awesome, the picture is superneat, the only problem - its vertical linearity. And unfortunatky the OSD in service menu is crappy and doesnt allow to fix that parameter, maybe theres some sort of a potentiometer on the chasis that fixes it but im not a tech guy to go in there and risk my crt and my life. Furtunately my main cause of getting this model is 3d 5th gen (ps1,n64m saturn) since the composite with the toshiba's slot mask (provides extra blending) is a perfect combo and linearity isnt a big issue in these games, for all 2d games from nes up to 2d ps1/saturn i use scart rgb on my flat trinitrons since these composite interferences are unbearable in 2d.

      I haven't had any issues like that with it, nope. The only issue I ever had with it was poor geometry, which was fixed through a toke adjustment, service menu adjustments, and installing some extra convergence strips.
