- I know many people who love the Zeiss Biogon 35mm focal length, but to be honest, 35mm has never been a lens that I loved to shoot. I mean, the 35mm focal length is ok. I know why people love it, but I have always seen the world with my 50, and when shot wider, i loved to shoot with the 28mm and 40mm. The Zeiss 35mm seemed a little annoying because it never fit exactly what I wanted, and I now saw what I wanted with my work.
I had to force myself to shoot with this Zeiss lens and I am extremely happy that I did.

Tim is back 👏🏼
Thanks bro, it feels good to be back!
Thanks Tim..... Welcome back....
I'm glad I found about your channel. Thanks to this ZEISS 35/2, Subscribed 🍁
I use the 35mm Zeiss C-Biogon on my M6. It’s a 2.8. Also an excellent lens. It’s very compact.
Welcome back sir! Nice video, my 35mm has been treated the same way. I just love the 50mm and 28mm if I want to go wide. I only bring one lens when leaving the house, so next time I go out I will treat the 35 to some day light. Have a great day and glad the shed is coming along.
Thanks so much! I need to think like you and bring only one lens with me when I leave the house
Thanks for the info my man! 😎🤙
Liked and subscribed!
Enjoyed this Tim, I used my Zeiss zm 50/2 planar last weekend in my latest video. Another underrated lens! People say it’s void of character which I disagree with. 👏
Thanks for the comment. They are both extremely underrated lenses. I'll check your video today and give you sub! Thanks for the watch
@@timriddick2 thanks mate
@@timriddick2 thanks for the sub Tim. I’ll be getting your advice on the 240 / m10 decision this coming year!
Thank you, Tim!
i love this lens, its amazing on film and digital
I agree, completely
I bought my Zeiss 35mm
f/2 Biogon ZM lens from B&H and there was a lens hood included.
This is the first M mount lens I bought.
I got it second hand for about 550$ without box and hood
I really like it
I think pictures from this lens are kinda flat but this lens is sharp enough even when shooting wide open. I dont know, it has its own character. I bought and sold many 35 mm M lens including various voightlander and summicron. I still keep it. It’s my everywhere lens. Bottom line, it’s a great value lens in terms of of price/quality
Nice video. What Leica model do you use? Thanks
This was my first lens, loved on in my M6 but it didn’t give me what I wanted digitally on the m10.
Did you move to a different lens? I only use this lens on film, but I’d like to hear about your experience.
have you ever tried the Nokton 35 1.4 MC II ? i think that is another lens with a bad rap from people who have never used it. It was between that and the biogon and since I already have the summicron 50mm and decided for the nokton and the beautiful flare at 1.4. (I like flares too lol) might try the biogon eventually though, it was splitting hairs between which one i was gonna pick.
I have! It's a wonderful lens that I own and plan on reviewing soon
This was the first kens I bought for my M6 back in 2016, and it is still in my kit and has been used regularly. I did hours of research and settled on this lens for the combination of performance to price and flare resistance. I wanted the 35mm Summicron ASPH, but that lens flares more and the performance isn’t objectively $1,000+ better.
In 2023 this lens seems to be a bit of an ugly ducking with all of the lenses that have been introduced since, like the Voigtlander 35mm f/2. I will admit that I like smaller lenses, and I bought the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 for when I know I won’t need f/2. But the Zeiss 35mm f/2 just always gives me solid performance. I wish it was just a hair smaller, and I do prefer to shoot it between f/2.8-8. But when I am indoors/in low light and need f/2, it’s there and performs well with a slight reduction in contrast.
I use a Zeiss 50 Planar and I think it may be sharper than my 50 Summilux. Either way, it's a win, win situation.
Has anyone has experienced the "Wobble" on these lenses in the last 2-5 yrs since they have bought them?
