    I've had a CBR 650R from new for nearly 4 years now, and the engine vibrations disappeared after 5,000 miles or so. I'm about to trade her in and she's been faultless in true Honda fashion, starting on the button every time. The build quality can't be faulted, either, as she looks as fresh today as the day I picked her up. One recommendation I would say to anyone buying this bike is to bin the OEM Dunlop tyres. I put Metzeler sportec M9RR's on and they made a huge difference to the feel of the bike, especially in winter.
    My old, creaking shoulders can't take the riding position any more, I need something more upright, and that's the only reason I'm trading her in. I'll be sorry to see her go, but a ride without pain is something I'm looking forward to on my new Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT.

      Yeh I went with Angel GT 2 all round. (Daily bike even in winter).
      I do miss my 2019 CB. Never let me down, much more versatile than a CBR especially when filtering. I do miss it but the new owner and me are friends. It's still well loved.
      Loved it, fun, easy to ride.
      However the brakes are a bit of a letdown if you try anything with proper brakes.

    "Blooming gorgeous" and "silky in-line 4": two things that cannot be said of a single competitor. I've never wished for riding modes on mine. And the retro-tech cable throttle doesn't come with the on / off snatchiness of so many ride by wire systems. I agree that the black edition is the best looking version to date, though I do miss the bronze engine / clutch casings. I think they would actually look really good with the black. Doberman style. ;-) Looking forward to the Hornet comparison!

    • @DavidSmith-hn5gg
      @DavidSmith-hn5gg Год назад

      I thought like this until I test rode the Hornet, I bought a Hornet straight away and I’m never having an inline 4 again. They’re boring at low speeds and vibrations are terrible at high speeds. The Hornets engine is fun at low speeds and no vibrations at high speeds… and in my opinion sounds so much nicer.

      @@DavidSmith-hn5gg No doubt the new Hornet engine wise is better, id wish i had that engine in my CB650R. For me it's just the looks isnt good with the new Hornet, it looks dated already in a not good way. I dont even think the looks they went for ever was popular around here. Imagine they keept the looks of the CB650R, keept the 180 rear tire, but put in the new sweet 750 parallel twin, now that would have been a smash hit.

    • @Pommo70
      @Pommo70 2 месяца назад

      Parallel Twins belong on either very large or small capacity bikes. These middle weight twins are awful. Fair play to Honda for keeping the straight four engines alive. Anyone who thinks that they don’t have power down low have obviously never ridden one properly.

      @MissMan666 Год назад

      i dont think the fueling is anything special on my CB650R, it's just less crappy than many other new bikes, certainly has it flaws, a flat spot around 6000RPM, and ON/OFF fealing at low RPM's, could be alot bettter. I had bikes from the 90's that had superior fueling to this 2019 Honda.

    I do miss an inline 4. I have an MT07 now and really love it for some spirited riding but I don't care for the 2 cyl. sound. These bikes are meant for a little bit of a tickle every once in a while for me. The MT07 does that job very well but there seems to be something missing. I have entertained getting a ZX6R but that may be a little bit to much of a tickle for a 69 year old man would want. I know the throttle is the control. i've been riding long enough to have owned Z1 when they first came out. I know how to control a throttle. I owned a Triumph Street Triple in 09 and wouldn't put it up until I reached triple digits on it. Not great for a long ride but it sure tickled me. I agree, I had. 2010 600 Hornet same looking exhausts, a belter of a bike. Think it even had a smidge more power than the 650s.

    Gr8 video and a gr8 bike, I had a 2019 matt Black CBR650R - however I had the opportunity to trade it in for an electric bike and wanted to experience a different type of riding. I would consider going back to petrol bikes so as not to lose the skill of riding a manual bike, but if the media is to be believed, petrol motorcycles like the CB650 black may not be available new from 2030 :(

    In today's times when almost all motorcycle manufacturers have switched to two cylinders in parallel, because it's cheaper to manufacture, it's a delight to see an "inline four"! They made it 650cc because of pollution regulations! If only it stayed of 600 was probably up to 80hp.!Typical Honda refinement and reliability!I have a CBR600F2,it has about 80,000 km on it and still runs flawlessly without any major repairs!
