people say the seventh day adventists put egw and her words as if they are scripture and it is because how some sda members use her. as i was joining i was told that i needed to know egw if i didn’t know her i wouldn’t be able to speak on prophecy because she is the spirit of prophecy, and some people will quote out of her book a scripture and give the credit to her as if she wrote it i don’t know a lot on egw but i do know enough to know she isn’t the problem in the situation but some people don’t have the same view i do and would have left i almost left when i first joined but God had worked with me long enough i fought through the attacks from the 2 people and i am happy i did because it’s the best church i have been in

I have not been the same since 2009. I make sure to read books such as Desire of Ages daily apart from my bible because they enhance my bible study and help me to appreciate more what my Saviour did for me.

I challenged Jim Baber on many of his videos and ask for an audience with him and never heard from him. What Jim does with the Bible and any book of SDA is CUT and PACE but would not read the context
All of you are correct. I have challenged James to directly debate SDAs in real time, and he chickens out every time, but as a raging narcissist, he flips the script and blames everyone else for not wanting to do text comments only on his terms. The man gives me the creeps with his nasty lies.

He has responded to me a few times, and then exercised his manly power by blocking my comments after "warning" me. Someone with more power to destroy truth is Allen Parr. He is not just about attacking Adventists, but he has a number of extremely toxic slander videos about how "wrong" SDAs are, and his audience is huge. I have challenged Parr MANY times to debate any seasoned SDAs on his popular channel, and he absolutely will not respond AT ALL. He just ignores, although he DOES respond to those fans who give him praise for his gossip and lies.
I went on one of his videos and commented. I asked him about Adventists salvation procedures. Like how is being saved in Adventism different from being saved in another denomination or his denomination. He couldn't answer and actually quoted an early Adventist pioneer, not EGW, on Adventist not being legalists. I was frank and told him he was therefore a fraud and clueless about Adventism

I didn't see any shadow of him. Will he appear? When I cornered him one time in his presentation wherein he belies the perpetuity of the Sabbath, I asked him to exegete Isaiah 66:22-23, he just responded with ad hominem side comments, adding that the text I was asking him to exegete was not in accordance with his topic. I further pressed him to exegete Isaiah 66:22-23, yet, he went on a loop of ad hominem and excuses. On his other video, someone who knows him commented that Jim Baber is a Jesuit. Whether it's true or not, 'Im not really interested in his background. What I know from an initial disappointing encounter with this guy, is that, he holds no cream.
Personally, I think Jesuits do a better job than Jim does. So I don't think he's a Jesuit. He's just not very good at what he does, but he seems convincing to the unsuspecting mind.

Her breaking the law and teaching others, being an example to others reached midway into the 1850s, yet she claimed she saw the Lord, He spoke to her gave her insights on all type of things but NEVER explained to her how and when to keep the 7th day Sabbath? She also imposed a TITHE for which Jesus NEVER asked for nor did He authorize His apostles to collect. According to this scripture you often use, during that time THERE WAS NO LIGHT IN HER! Even to her death she never repealed her teaching on Tithing, nor selling books for which we see NO PROPHET selling books! Can you agree, or acknowledge that, she had no light during these times, or is the scripture wrong? If you go by the scripture alone, you have no other option if you are to be honest to agree that there was no light in her when she was breaking the commandments and teaching, being an example for others to do the same.
Is this not specious? Did Jesus grow in knowledge and experience? Don't confuse this question by hearing me suggest that Jesus sinned in ignorance coz I do not know. Check out Luke 2:52. Was Moses a prophet? Did he sin when he was a prophet? Does this mean that when he sinned he did not have the light of God in (with) him? Did Jonah sin while he was a prophet? Why do you want others to assume that He changed His manner of dealing with people, showing them their sin, for EGW, when there is no example He did this for any other prophet. If the prophets had broken the Sabbath as she did, originally being a Sunday keeper, the keeping it from 6am - 6pm, she would have been stoned! Sinning occasionally and repenting is different than living day after day year after year until almost a decade passed when not God but another person showed her the truth. Why didn't God show her these things IF she was really in touch with God? I have a question. At 18:50 When 2 Timothy 3:16 is spoken of, what Scripture was Paul talking about? Old Testament only or Old Testament plus something?

All I know is what the scriptures say. Here's one example where Paul's writings are grouped together with "other scriptures." 2 Peter 3:16 KJV - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the OTHER SCRIPTURES, unto their own destruction.

Mark Ward has a great book named "Authorized," which details why the wonderful 1611 KJV is sadly out of date.

Hello. We notified him a few different ways. A comment was posted on the video we intended to respond to, and a conversation took place there between Jim and I, in which he consistently expressed his desire to debate in the comments. He never really explicitly say he would not show up, which kept me hopeful. A second way was through tags. We consistently tagged him in our video and community posts. RUclips notifies anyone who was tagged. He didn't block us so we know he says them. Third, various individuals notified him on some of his videos and he responded to them. In that manner he also knew. The announcement was made a month in advance, and I also made it clear in the announcement that I'd be willing to change the meeting time to make it easier for him if the time I chose did not work for him.
I have seen.many of James' videos, and have directly urged him multiple times to debate in real time with any knowledgeable SDAs. He ALWAYS has a set of excuses he uses every time to say that all challengers have "broken fingers " because they won't debate in the comments only, or he says, "Thank you for being the 112th SDA to complain. " I told him that ANY normal preacher likes to debate in person. And he also hates people to know his last name, unlike most transparent preachers.

According to the Statement of Confidence in the writings of Ellen G White. I will quote one part of this statement as follows "Correct inaccurate interpretations " This makes Ellen White a Pope of Adventism and this is what I can't accept and neither should anyone else. Ellen believed in the shut door that no one could be saved after 1844 and for seven years after and she was wrong in this because this doctrine was dropped when other people joined the small group
Why is it a problem for a prophet to correct inaccurate interpretations if that person actually is a prophet? You'd need to prove she isn't a prophet first in order for that to be a problem. The Ethiopian of Acts 8:27-40 had a non-canonical prophet explain to him a canonical scripture he was struggling to understand. So, we have Bible for that.

As a new SDA only 3 years, the attitudes both sides displayed causes me to question if any of you understand what it means to follow Christ. Where are the fruits of the Spirit in all this? Sola scriptura? As we look into the history of the way the papacy hijacked the true faith and the way they immediately started removing books from the cannon which version of Scripture should we accept in the application of this doctrine of Lutheran origin? We see that Luther himself did not support the "apocrypha" and those books were first reordered in the King James 1611, then removed completely under the influence of John Nelson Darby and Calvin. We can further see that the oldest surviving Bible (the Ethiopian) included even more such as the book of Enoch. This begs the question when we apply Sola Scriptura. We even now have versions of the bible which change or remove scripture and therefore change the very nature of our understanding (some even promote homosexuality). So my question remains which version is the truth?
There is nothing spurious about the cannon which makes up our bibles. To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them. {Isaiah 8:20} The books left out were left out because they could bot pass the filter of truth.

What righteousness do Adventists claim to have? Obviously they include works of obedience. Obvious because they have a binding covenant law according to the 28 fundamental beliefs. This is essential if you claim to be under the investigative Judgement.' Fortunately Paul has explained this type of righteousness for us by siting moses covenant ten commandments. I didn't see any shadow of him. Will he appear? When I cornered him one time in his presentation wherein he belies the perpetuity of the Sabbath, I asked him to exegete Isaiah 66:22-23, he just responded with ad hominem side comments, adding that the text I was asking him to exegete was not in accordance with his topic. I further pressed him to exegete Isaiah 66:22-23, yet, he went on a loop of ad hominem and excuses.
On his other video, someone who knows him commented that Jim Baber is a Jesuit. Whether it's true or not, 'Im not really interested in his background. What I know from an initial disappointing encounter with this guy, is that, he holds no cream.

How could EGW be a Prophet, when she was not speaking according to the law and the testimony, by breaking the Sabbath, then keeping it from 6 pm to 6 pm, and eating swine?
Her breaking the law and teaching others, being an example to others reached midway into the 1850s, yet she claimed she saw the Lord, He spoke to her gave her insights on all type of things but NEVER explained to her how and when to keep the 7th day Sabbath? She also imposed a TITHE for which Jesus NEVER asked for nor did He authorize His apostles to collect.
According to this scripture you often use, during that time THERE WAS NO LIGHT IN HER! Even to her death she never repealed her teaching on Tithing, nor selling books for which we see NO PROPHET selling books!
Can you agree, or acknowledge that, she had no light during these times, or is the scripture wrong? If you go by the scripture alone, you have no other option if you are to be honest to agree that there was no light in her when she was breaking the commandments and teaching, being an example for others to do the same.

Why didn't God show her these things IF she was really in touch with God? How can we as His body ALL SPEAK THE SAME THING, when you want to elevate a woman to the status of a Prophet who was ignorant of and tramped on God's commandments for so many years?
Just as the Israelites did while they were in Eygpt. When God told Moses to get the people out of Egypt, do you think they were doing what they were supposed to do? Why do you think they were wandering in the desert for 40 years? Why did the people complain when God put them all on a strict diet? What happened to a big group of the people when they refused to follow the directions God gave to Moses?? It is time to come out of Babylon!! Recognise, repent and follow God!

Hello. We notified him a few different ways. A comment was posted on the video we intended to respond to, and a conversation took place there between Jim and I, in which he consistently expressed his desire to debate in the comments. He never really explicitly say he would not show up, which kept me hopeful. A second way was through tags. We consistently tagged him in our video and community posts. RUclips notifies anyone who was tagged. He didn't block us so we know he says them. Third, various individuals notified him on some of his videos and he responded to them. In that manner he also knew.
The announcement was made a month in advance, and I also made it clear in the announcement that I'd be willing to change the meeting time to make it easier for him if the time I chose did not work for him.

I have seen.many of James' videos, and have directly urged him multiple times to debate in real time with any knowledgeable SDAs. He ALWAYS has a set of excuses he uses every time to say that all challengers have "broken fingers " because they won't debate in the comments only, or he says, "Thank you for being the 112th SDA to complain. " I told him that ANY normal preacher likes to debate in person. And he also hates people to know his last name, unlike most transparent preachers.

Why is it a problem for a prophet to correct inaccurate interpretations if that person actually is a prophet? You'd need to prove she isn't a prophet first in order for that to be a problem. The Ethiopian of Acts 8:27-40 had a non-canonical prophet explain to him a canonical scripture he was struggling to understand. So, we have Bible for that.

As we look into the history of the way the papacy hijacked the true faith and the way they immediately started removing books from the cannon which version of Scripture should we accept in the application of this doctrine of Lutheran origin? We see that Luther himself did not support the "apocrypha" and those books were first reordered in the King James 1611, then removed completely under the influence of John Nelson Darby and Calvin. We can further see that the oldest surviving Bible (the Ethiopian) included even more such as the book of Enoch. This begs the question when we apply Sola Scriptura. We even now have versions of the bible which change or remove scripture and therefore change the very nature of our understanding (some even promote homosexuality). So my question remains which version is the truth?
There is nothing spurious about the cannon which makes up our bibles.
