  • Here, I will replace the driver's side tail light bulb in a 2007 Audi A4 convertible. The lamp and bulb replacement process is different in this model from the sedan.

    I really appreciate your response and information. I’m going to buy a screw extractor bit, but I will be very careful to try snd not break the taillight. Damn, if the screw wasn’t rounded out , this would be so easy because of your excellent video. I also have the convertible so I will buy the replacement bulb 2825 that you mention. Thanks again for your reply and information . It is very much appreciated!

    Any tips for the tail light bulbs beneath the brake bulb?

      Never had to replace one (and no longer have the car). However, it should be easy enough to get at once the assembly is removed. Likely just a twist to take out...

    Great video but my screw just spins and won't come out, any idea on how to get it out?

    • @DashboardSymbols
      @DashboardSymbols  3 года назад +1

      Not supposed to come out. It just backs away enough to slide the lamp out sideways...

    Hi, so the screw in my 2008 Audi A4 is rounded out. Any idea how to get it out and get a replacement screw? I did the other rear light exactly as you describe and although that screw was "a little bit" rounded I still was able to grip the screw to turn it. Thanks so much and I hope you answer!! Best, Christine

      Ok, so if I understand correctly, its the screw head that's rounded, meaning a screwdriver won't grip it. So, first, the screw is built into the taillight, so removing and replacing it is not possible. Better off at a wrecking yard looking for a used t-light. However, you'd still have to remove it, so search for something called an "easy out". It should turn the screw and maybe there's enough forward grip to tighten it after the bulb is replaced. Or, wrecking yard. Good luck!

      @@DashboardSymbols hi, it’s been awhile but I wanted to tell you that I got the screw out and was able to replace the side rear light bulb. The Philip’s head of the screw was dug out/rounded out so the screwdriver was not gripping the screw. I tried a few dumb ideas that didn’t work. But, just this morning, I thought of using a ratchet and it worked! Actually, the first size ratchet I tried fit perfectly and turned the screw! Hallelujah - I was able to complete all the other steps you indicated and I replaced the bulb. Thanks Christine

    I have a 2008 Audi A4 quattro convertible and I purchased the tailight. I don't have the inner plastic cover where the screw is hidden nor the screws or bolts to hold the tailight into place so it won't come off. What do I really need to attach the tailight so it won't fall off? What's the actual name for the black plastic inner cover piece?

      What do I need to buy to keep the tailight from falling off like my previous tailight.

      Hey... U shud find what you need here (www.audiusaparts.com/v-2008-audi-a4--cabriolet--2-0l-l4-gas/electrical--tail-lamps). If not on the page, the guys at the store are VERY helpful, and they discount! I no longer have the Audi, but used them several time. Good luck!!
