Oh thank you for reminding me about the blinker fluid. I totally forgot to include that in my order for the new bulbs. While i have things apart i plan on also upgrading the johnson rod to a heaver model as well as install better quality muffler bearings to smooth things out.
@@auguststar0801 A few of the tricky right side steps that I still remember (not documented by the “top ranked” videos on this topic that I watched): * Plastic cover over the radiator must be removed which requires removing 4 round plastic clips. Each of these clips has a center pin that must be pushed down to unlock the clip, which can then be pulled up and removed. If you try to yank up on a clip directly like I did, it will break. After removing each clip, pull the center pin down all the way through. The pin will be reinserted flush from the top later to relock the clips * One of the screw devices holding the right headlight assembly is a strange looking bracket made of several pieces (a screw and a second flanged screw below it). This must be loosened and then the entire piece slid backward and removed (for now). Don’t drop it inside the engine area :). Interestingly, the 2 screws in this device work in opposite directions such that when you screw in the top screw, the flange screw below it comes up to meet it, which causes it to grip the headlight assembly from both sides. * In addition to removing 2 screws plus the weird screw assembly, had to loosen (but not remove) two deep-set screws about a 1/2 foot below the top of the headlight assembly in the rear of it (as documented in another video) * I had to tilt the entire headlight assembly upward a little as I slid it out the front in order to be able to remove it * Swapping the bulb was the easy part * Reinserting the entire headlight assembly back into the car was not easy. Had to get the correct angle (slightly tilted up). Possible to scratch the corner of the plastic headlight if you try to insert it incorrectly. Had to make sure to reconnect the little rubber hose (water drain?) on the left of the headlight assembly (left as facing forward, i.e. on the side closer to the center of the car). Had to reconnect the little hose while the headlight assembly was partially inserted. Tight area to get fingers into. Credit to another video for documenting this necessary hose reattachment.
This was the most hilarious headlight bulb change ever.. Takes blinker bulb out... *bulb falls* "don't do that"
Don't forget the blinker fluid needs changing, careful not to spill any!

The headlight assembly comes out with about 4 torquex screws. The bumper does NOT need to come off!!
Gail Briggs how do you pull the headlight out once removing the bolts
Opinionated One Way to contribute to the conversation like a grown up adult.
No you are not right. You can't take out all the light unit. I think it depends on the model.
Is there any coding involved?

.....yeah I'm just gonna have the professionals at mechanic shop i go to do this on my A4
???...bumper off? NO! before taking bumper off, look up this vid- USR 09-11 Audi A4 B8 DEPO Headlight Installation
Hi how about the other side which is very hard to reach. Thanks
+Arthur Soufer That's the one I have to do, looks like you'll have to remove the airbox first.
What do you do for daytime running lights that are going yellow? Can it be replaced
or remove the yellowed tubes - shave down the burnt plastic - smooth it out with sand paper - clear coat it and bam! all better.
@@bh251cc does it work. Like to see it
That's fantastic.....now for the drivers side 🤣
do you have walk thourgh with audi 2011?
Am sure you could take the headlights out with taking the bumper off on those models
you can on a '13 A4 allroad
No they have bolts under the bumper
Well of course it's that easy when the power steering reservoir isn't there.
Yeah well doesn’t talk about the part that really counts, the far trickier and less obvious to do right side bulb.
Eduard Rozenberg that’s the one that I needed to change. It worked the same.

that was the passenger side
@@landocoffindaffer9875 Well if it's RHD, it's the driver side. Because that air intake box is blocking all the access
