  • In this video I replace the dipped beam xenon headlight bulbs on this Audi A4 B8. This video includes the removal of a right hand side headlamp unit to gain access to the bulb.
Replacement xenon bulbs are: Osram D3S Xenarc 35W, which are said to carry a 4 year guarantee.

Its frustrating how much easier the nearside is opposed to the offside. Had a faf with the offside it got stuck on removal against the bumper but finally got it off and replaced without unplugging as i couldnt get access to unplug the damn thing but i muddled through. Nearside was a 30 second job with big hands that barely fit

hello, is there a difference from the original philips 6000k xenon with 4300k osram standard, because i have issue with one bulb and i dont know.

The higher the k (Kelvin) then the whiter the light. Depending on country there can be upper limits to what is permissible under law.

6000K isn't whiter, it is a color scale. Incandescent bulbs like cars from 2000 and older had are typically around 3200K or yellowish to the eye. With Xenons you can choose the K value when buying your bulbs. Typically around 5000K is like daylight, neutral, without significant yellow or blue hue. More modern cars often have around 6000K or higher bulbs. A slight blue hue. 7 or 8000K look really blue. 9000K starts looking more purple-ish.
The D3S xenon bulb the B8 A4 uses, puts out the same amount of light, no matter if it is 4000K or 7000K, the difference is just the colour of the light emitted.
To human eye, some color ranges suit better than others. Typically 5000K temperature light suits the eye the best, as it is what the humans have evolved with, the sunlight. But some say that a slight blue-ish hue of the 6000k helps making out details in the dark better. They certainly look more modern and better to me from the outside, but that is just up-to anyone's personal preference.

Just replaced mine - the standard was a Philips 4300K bulb.
