The pilot lights from the amps was a very cool idea
Had a '72, first year for the 1K...shifter on the right, brake on the left. Loved the Bendix carb.
Great sporty I just found a 71 900 Sportster in my neighbors shop collecting dust for the last 30years.
Go rescue it!

They are really cool, he got different ones recently, white and green i think, still glass and they light up beautifully.

I've got the exact same bike sitting in my basement
Did you have static or dynamic balance on the flywheels.
Im not sure what he did, probably just balanced like any other harleys wheels, one at a time with whatever balance factor they used. I could ask him.
I've got one just like it slightly modified
Beautiful old Sporty. Try a Kiehin CV carb.
CVs are excellent carbs.
Mine is a xlch electric start and kick start
