For me, the realism in forza and the way you can enjoy the sound of your car like its a real one is so much better, and the handling in test drive seems really annoying to me as well
Forza AI and car builds can always improve. The physics are great on a wheel. It’s a not so serious automotive game with heaps to do compare to its competitors.
I haven't played Test Drive, but as far as FH5 goes ... I got bored of FH5 within 6 mths? Even then I still kept going back to FH4. There was some really good elements of the new game, and improvements over FH4, but for me personally there was some magic missing. Was it (my) feeling like the environment changes didn't actually add variety to driving styles? Was it an abundance of dull clothing? The course designs offering less challenge? I don't know, but I felt no urge to keep up with FH5. I'm not going to shit on it, I just put it aside, lamented that FH4 player counts tanked, and set myself to waiting for FH6, but I do have to agree I was bored with it :)
Something that is pretty much exclusive to Forza Horizon 5 is the event editor. U have so much freedom to create events, small maps, racetracks etc. I really am disappointed that other games are not picking up on this. The Crew 2 added an event creation tool but all you do is place checkpoints and then it's a timed event. DIRT5 has a lot of freedom for their editor but that is also not playable with AI, just yourself. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 custom tracks can also NOT be played with AI. I am sorry, but what are the devs thinking when they make these editors and not make AI be able to race you on them. Forza Horizon 5s race editor is something I wished for in NfS titles for forever and EA has still not even made an attempt in that direction as well.
I am playing test drive right now but thats because ive been playing forza for the last year+ straight and am growing bored. But test drive has a long way to go to compete with forza and who knows if itll ever get there. ✌
I enjoy all of the classic Test Drive Unlimited games (yeah, I know, just two games but I semi-consider the astonishingly good for the console PS2 port of the first TDU to be a semi-distinct game from the XBox 360 version which I also have) and I enjoy the three Forza Horizon games which I have played (the first two games on XBox 360 and Forza Horizon 4 on Steam... FH 3 was delisted before I had a computer powerful enough for Forza, and I know the XBox 360 version of FH 2 has a terrible reputation but I still enjoyed it because I never had an XBox One) so I don't play favourites when it comes to open world racing franchises. I haven't yet played Forza Horizon 5 since I'm still enjoying Forza Horizon 4 (plus I consider the lack of autumn and winter in FH5 to be kind of a downgrade from FH4) and, while I did play a bit of the open demo of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown in June, I haven't yet bought the game because I did have some technical problems running it on an older graphics card (one which has no issues with Forza Horizon 4), namely how the game would freeze for several seconds to load in the next part of the map in certain areas, mostly on the expressways, whenever driving fast. I'm also waiting a non-vague commitment regarding an offline patch, I can live with it being always-online while the game is still receiving new content but I'd definitely want an offline patch at end-of-life. As for gameplay differences between the two franchises, I like games where I can earn cars (as long as it's not too much of a grind having to replay the same races over and over again) and I also like games where I am just constantly being given cars. It's perfectly okay to have a strong preference one way or the other on how you attain cars in a game but I really can go either way. Even though Forza Horizon is extremely generous with the number of cars it throws at players, I still mainly drive just a handful of those cars so I do feel attached to them despite not having earned most of them through winning races (my "main", the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, was a DLC car anyway).
@@thegreatpoo2electricboogal318 Yes, I've been playing Test Drive since Test Drive II: The Duel for MS-DOS which I got for my 15th birthday in 1989. I've also owned Test Drive III: The Passion, Test Drive 4, Test Drive: Le Mans, and Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends. I specified Unlimited in my comment, though. Most of the other Test Drive games are either point-to-point or circuit-based (TDIII was very primitive open world, but only on sub-maps).
To say that Test Drive is better than Horizon 5 is a brave move. Sure fh5 has points where it is "bad" especially the map is meh but yeah still a fun game 3 years later.
People are crazy, they just follow whatever is trending at the moment. I have almost 800 hours of fh5, and that was after I purchased the game, and yes, now it is boring, but the other game I played the most was gta 5, and I have 70 hours on it, so wtf. 3 years for any live service gaming is a lot, unless is not something like gta online, or league of legends is really hard to keep it going and they have done it. I can’t wait for fh6, but comparing fh5 to TDU is bullshit, they are not even in the same league, specially atm.

Too right on the brainwashing part. People jump on bandwagons way too much and way too easily. "Oh this guy said this thing, it must be true... huh yeah come to think of it, actually I don't like Forza Horizon because it's 3+ years old at this point! Ew so old! Good call! I'll magically shift my opinion and say the game is garbage from now on." The Forza Horizon sub is so much like this, it's like a hive mind, like Hide n Seek, it's actually a lot of fun! But people's issues are before they play it themself and form their own opinion, it's like they're too lazy to do that and just read what other people say, and then form their opinion before they even try it "I can't spend time playing Hide n Seek, I have a full-time job. Mate, you 'can' play 6+ matches in half an hour probably. Don't come that.
THAT'S NOT THE FUCKING POINT AT ALL. JESUS. It's because it's more like Pokemon then a racing game. There's no feeling of progression, all cars feel like they do from previous titles. No it hasn't changed at all except flashy graphics on a stale map, and don't even get me started on the sounds. Who tf puts NASCAR in a forza game? I'm sorry but it's not a perfect game so stop believing IGN or Metacritic, we have the right to point out it's flaws. No game is perfect, and that's that
Could be three type of people saying that, plants that are there to hype up TDUSC, haters that simple want to shit on Forza because they hate that some dare to say TDU is not great at the moment and the third would be people that are mad they bought this game and feel the need to defend or justify their purchase. Laughable to compare Forza to Test Drive with probably one of the worst launches in racing game history.

people need to stop comparing test drive and forza, or forza and any other racing game. test drive is an AA game while forza is an AAA game; for some reason people act like they can't enjoy two things at once, the more games, the better.
I think it's a problem with social media in general; but especially short-form platforms. If you want to be clicked, you have to polarise, and that causes opinions to polarise. Either you love it or hate it, you can't have an opinion in between. If you say something positive about Forza, you are a fanboy because on the "Internet-people" see you as on the "other side.". Its always us vs. them because how can you not like this perfect game as depicted and stated by someone random on TikTok??? You have to be a hater... If we dont want this, its in our own hands to always see the world in your own perspective, knowing its your perspective. Other people may like different things, and we don't have to fight about it because that's perfectly normal. You can also stop watching these videos, promising a perfect game; there are no perfect games.
@@DUBSmb probably nostalgia tbh. I’ve had better experiences racing/cruising in TDU, especially the 2nd game and I’ve met many friendlier people thru the games than Horizon. I also believe the less forgiving progression & economy plays a part in it. Purchasing a car in TDU felt special since I could spec out paint/interior/wheels with factory options & felt as if I really earned that specific vehicle whereas in FH I do appreciate the sounds, physics, etc but cars just feel like toys with how easy it is to get rewarded every 2 secs (esp wheelspins in 4/5)
That’s because it is better hate how people dislike this game but then when they fix the stuff y’all either bitch and complain more or just get told you so
Forza is as much a brainrot game as Tik Tok. You drove 100 meters straigh? OmG yOu ChAd, HeRe leT mE gIvE yOu coOl Points! It's such a damn pampering game it's rediculous. Rides the OMG you are such a special person.
@@Nightboyvq Oh the base game is not all that bad, The driving physics for example are quite enjoying. It is just pampering too much to the brainrott masses. For example seeing your avatar jump on a stage with confetty flying before you even start a race, you are a hero for even showing up. It's a designed way to trigger dopamine to make you come back. Racing on mile wide roads really is not that exiting. Strip away all the dopamine stuff and FH5 really is quite a bland game. Yes this is a game, but like social media this is affecting generations IRL. Kids and young adults are growing up playing this and will be affected. I have been gaming since the 80's and the last 10 years games aimed for the masses (like FH5) very actively have been purposfully been dumbed down, and made easier while also starting the Dopamine trigger systems. For example Vampire hunter Survivors. The dev was a former slotmachine guy. The game is purposfully build to trigger that dopamine, from small things as the sound the coin/diamant pickups make. Funny enough i think a comedian like Jimmy Carr here puts it quite well if you care to watch a 1 minute video. And tbh the long interview is also very worth watching. ruclips.net/video/2Wpgi9Q12ME/видео.html. So no, with how much time people spend on games be it mobile or on console or pc, i think it is extremely important to be aware of these things. FH5 isn't made to give you the best racing game. It is there to make you play as long as possible, spend as much money on DLC's as they can and keep you logging in for cheap dopamine fixes with pampering, wheel of fortune stuff, etc. It is pshycology. This is in fact a massive toppic that may seem very minor if you look at 1 game but it is huge and involves mental health, addiction, children. I do not know your age or situation. personally i have children and what i see in schools but also with other adults, it is downright scary. Addiction to these dopamine triggers, be it games, social media apps or what not is very real and downright scary. I'll gladly be called a crying child if i at least can get someone to reflect on these things.
Youre VERY wrong! TDU SC is MUCH better than Forza! Forza is boring as hell - there is no progression, you already start with super fast cars, cars have no sentimental value because youre getting gifted a car every few minutes, there is nothing to do besides customizing cars, doing boring races, doing minigames and playing EventLab, and the map is boring and trash! And don't forget that there isn't any cool intro that makes you pumped up to race! TDU did much better!

I really love the tdu franchise but im level 53 right now and havent played against a single online player till now, the game feels a little bit dead tbh. But im putting my hopes in the new content
Hype for a game that's still in development is how they die and I enjoyed Forza 5 but my favorite is 4
For me, the realism in forza and the way you can enjoy the sound of your car like its a real one is so much better, and the handling in test drive seems really annoying to me as well
Not defending either. They both suck
Realism and FH5? xD
@@HeltKlartSoeholm Exactly.
An open world GT in Japan would be sick but Kazunori does nothing for the community in terms of circuits and vehicles recommended by the community 😪
Forza AI and car builds can always improve. The physics are great on a wheel. It’s a not so serious automotive game
with heaps to do compare to its competitors.
THERES NO WAY ILL CHOOSE TDUSC OVER FORZA HORIZON, ANY OF THEM....FH1,2,3,4, AND 5 ARE LEAPS AND BOUNDS BETTER THAN THAT GARBAGE TDUSC.
Nope Old Horizons ARE still better same with Motorsport.
Hopefully they can stick with TDU. It has a lot of potential.
You know there were Test Drive games before unlimited?
@@thegreatpoo2electricboogal318 Yes, I've been playing Test Drive since Test Drive II: The Duel for MS-DOS which I got for my 15th birthday in 1989. I've also owned Test Drive III: The Passion, Test Drive 4, Test Drive: Le Mans, and Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends.
I specified Unlimited in my comment, though. Most of the other Test Drive games are either point-to-point or circuit-based (TDIII was very primitive open world, but only on sub-maps).
Okay. So what is the most played racing game in general right now?
To say that Test Drive is better than Horizon 5 is a brave move.
Sure fh5 has points where it is "bad" especially the map is meh but yeah still a fun game 3 years later.
I'm enjoying TDU so far, even with all of their issues. But the physics on Forza will never be beat, in my opinion. FH5 is just stale for me now.
They take longer to make games maybe due to new tech
People are crazy, they just follow whatever is trending at the moment. I have almost 800 hours of fh5, and that was after I purchased the game, and yes, now it is boring, but the other game I played the most was gta 5, and I have 70 hours on it, so wtf. 3 years for any live service gaming is a lot, unless is not something like gta online, or league of legends is really hard to keep it going and they have done it. I can’t wait for fh6, but comparing fh5 to TDU is bullshit, they are not even in the same league, specially atm.
I stopped playing FH5 a year ago because I felt it just became a car version of pokemon. Doesn't mean it's a bad game, it's just getting a little stale
The biggest issue for solar crown is how much demanding it is on pc. Its hard to get 60 fps on this sh*t game on lower settings while i am getting 170-180 fps in forza on higher settings
I was bored of fh5 a week after started playing it tbh. Fh4 was way more immersive.
Lol whats funny is none of these other games will matter once horizon 6 comes out
Except horizon 6 will just be the same as horizon 5, which is the same as horizon 4, which is the same as horizon 3. No wonder TCM has passed fh5 as the most played racing game on xbox. No wonder most of the playground games team have left and gone to amazon games. Horizon has been shit since fh2
@@nicksimpson23 whomp whomp still a better game with unmatched physics and I guarantee you're still going to play it 🤡
@@CobbG37x I won't be getting horizon 6. I prefer tdu and tcm
@@nicksimpson23???, TCM isn’t even in the top 30 most played games on Xbox. FH5 is at number 8. Talk about spitting out a lie. TCM only got 3000 players on steam, FH5 got 15,000. Forza is more popular don’t even lie.
@ForzaMemories
Alright I'll tell everyone that has said it that they're wrong because you said so 😂😂😂
I see the forza fans are as toxic as ever when someone says its shit 😂😂
I cannot hate this game because it's my game I put my time into over the past 18 months and last week I installed Crew 2 80p in uk oh my days that's awesome and to me its just horizon 2 but upgraded to what challenges i wanted then Sunday woke up and done Gold edition motorfest £25.35. Both were ultra cheap.. my mouth dropped the graphics and cars are a story of there own. And it's sharpened my driving style a bit for forza return a couple hours ago
Look forza is massive but 3 years agreed if they kept all their updates then I might have a chance to get all cars.
Only thing can say is that I'm happy to binge the playlist in one go just a long session.get the rewards and thursday the whole weekly one for those points for shop and head to crew motorfest just saying cause we have got alot to do on that game Period right.
Test drive I'm waiting when you agree all is clear bro same page but yea let's see what their upto soon
But crew Motorfest next season year 2 is why I'm happy to attempt to catch up. Still don't know what I'm doing to be honest but im happy. 6 playlist I have done so far. And yap yap as I type typed. Respect and spud laters and sorry it's a big one
Keep it real stay safe and test drive I'm waiting for to iron the probs whatever ok. Gamer gamer. I've seen enough content on yt to say yes but oh my days sort it out then I'll get it honestly.
I like ivory tower awesome on my xbox 1 too a bit jumpy jumping in car zooming in from sky. And cross gen is a thing!
Worse optimization ever and also feels bland. I dream of a mash of Crew original {huge map} but with Forza elements and maybe some elements of TDU2
No game is perfect, and that's that
Well said.
Dude so many people created their entire YT channels on TDU SC. Now their are just coping that a half assed buggy POS got released. SAD
I’m not the biggest fan of Forza quite honestly I think it’s very boring, repetitive and not much change/innovation happens between the games, BUT at least the fucking game actually works.
This sounds like people comparing those random ass unnecessary details from rdr2 to other games as if it matters what so ever 💀 BRO THE WATER PARTICLES WHEN YOU SHOOT THE WATER ITS THE BEST GAME EVER
before someone takes it the wrong way, rdr2 is a great game
test drive is not even in the discussion ive seen people trying to defend the game with the budget size but like c'mon yall f-up a fan favorite franchise for some live service battlepass bs
Very true facts
Whoever said solar crown is better than forza is braindead
Just opinions, you’re the brain dead one.
Tdusc is not deserving tdu title, tons of interesting stuff is removed that used to be in older tdu games like cops, car salons...
would rather play horizon 1 than tdu sc
looks better runs better
people need to stop comparing test drive and forza, or forza and any other racing game. test drive is an AA game while forza is an AAA game; for some reason people act like they can't enjoy two things at once, the more games, the better.
I think it's a problem with social media in general;
but especially short-form platforms.
FH5 started giving rare and HW cars on seasonal challenges...it is the final stretch showing
I would say that TDU: SC and Forza Horizon 5 are very different games apart of being a racing game. So the complaints are unfair from that reason.
I can play Forza offline
I like FH but I'll always prefer TDU
Good luck with the servers ❤
I honestly don't understand how
@@DUBSmb probably nostalgia tbh. I’ve had better experiences racing/cruising in TDU, especially the 2nd game and I’ve met many friendlier people thru the games than Horizon.
I also believe the less forgiving progression & economy plays a part in it. Purchasing a car in TDU felt special since I could spec out paint/interior/wheels with factory options & felt as if I really earned that specific vehicle whereas in FH I do appreciate the sounds, physics, etc but cars just feel like toys with how easy it is to get rewarded every 2 secs (esp wheelspins in 4/5)
Solar crown is complete broken garbage, carstreetx Soo much better and cheaper
NFS also sucks and thats next gen only
That’s because it is better hate how people dislike this game but then when they fix the stuff y’all either bitch and complain more or just get told you so
Finally another yap video
It's not even comparable IMO. Solar Crown is shit
Yeah test drive looks like boots cheeks 😂 🤮 no other racing game will come close to forza, maybe a need for speed remaster that's about it.
Forza is as much a brainrot game as Tik Tok. You drove 100 meters straigh? OmG yOu ChAd, HeRe leT mE gIvE yOu coOl Points! It's such a damn pampering game it's rediculous. Rides the OMG you are such a special person.
Cry harder
@@MelvinThe123 Congratulations, you replied. You deserve a free spin! You absolute chad.
whaha.
@@XCougar85X you're the only one acting like a child crying about a game, Forza is good there's no denying that
@@Nightboyvq Oh the base game is not all that bad, The driving physics for example are quite enjoying.
@@Nightboyvq No it bloody isn't.
Forza is trash and sucks
Youre VERY wrong! TDU SC is MUCH better than Forza! Forza is boring as hell - there is no progression, you already start with super fast cars, cars have no sentimental value because youre getting gifted a car every few minutes, there is nothing to do besides customizing cars, doing boring races, doing minigames and playing EventLab, and the map is boring and trash! And don't forget that there isn't any cool intro that makes you pumped up to race!
TDU did much better!
rage baiting at it's finest
@@DUBSmb Different opinion ≠ Rage bait
it's impossible for someone to read your comment and think you're being serious with what you wronte
@@DUBSmb Im fully serious! The thing I wrote are FACTS about FH5! Forza Horizon is boring! (Except the first 3 games).
I'm only going to pick 1 part of your statement. "there is nothing to do besides customizing cars, doing boring races, doing minigames and playing EventLab". As opposed to what? What more can you do in TDU apart from race to get money and buy other cars?
test drive is not a patch on Forza the controls on test drive and the way it feels is rubbish it's so basic
