- In this video, I'm doing some restoration work on an NES/Nintendo Entertainment System. Repairing and retrobrighting the case and recapping the electronics.
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console produced by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan in 1983 as the Family Computer
(Retrobrighting)To return the yellow color of the plastic to its true white color
What was used in this video?
1- Hair color-lightening cream contains 9% Hydrogen peroxide
2- Sodium bicarbonate
3- OXI Action
4- Isopropyl Alcohol
5- Sunlight was used as a natural source of ultraviolet rays.
How to Remove Yellow Stains from Plastic
Whether they're from foods, sunlight, or chemical reactions, yellow stains often show up on plastic. There are many ways you can try to tackle these stains, such as soaking the plastic in bleach, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide
Thank you all so much for supporting this growing channel I hope this video helps some of you, make sure to leave a like and share to keep the retro scene alive!
I went back to my childhood :( Sometimes, all I wish is to go back to the past to experience life as a child again. Quite often I find myself lost in the past traveling through the times when I just rejoiced every single moment without thinking of what lies ahead. I just wish I had some superpower to do the time travel.
What a blast from the past. Next and modern day gaming is awesome, but it's not THIS. I was 11 boy again watching excite bike and Mario bros.
I must just say thank you. I've been watching a good few channels and videos over the last few weeks cleaning and restoring consoles (Xbox 360 more specifically) and having discovered your channel, I finally decided to take the plunge and open up my console for the first time after 12 years. What a personal achievement it was for me, considering that it all panned out well.
Watching your videos inspired the confidence I needed to do it. So thank you. 👍🏻
For those who don't understand why MANY people prefer the original console to modern emulators, its nostalgia. If you have fond memories playing this console as a child, nothing but an original console will do. It's a great feeling to relive happier times.🥰🥰🥰
I really agree with you, thanks for watching❤️
Sa mo balak mahal way na
Also accuracy too! Not all emulators are accurate even though they have come a long way nothing beats playing it on the original console for its designed purpose. Pure nostalgia👌 💯🙌
@Derrick Finzer Agreed! Same here
Nothing beats the NES & SNES game consoles in quality.
I love your restoration. I want to watch when you repair the NES gun, if you want to play Duck Hunt. And where is the doctor duck ?
I got the one that came with Gyromite. It had the robot with the gyros. Wish I still had it. But at least I still have my Atari 2600.
Nice job bro
Thanks for the visit
How can you have a nes end up like that? ;(
How much does it cost to replace the motherboard?
It’s amazing how nintendo used to make their consoles to last a lifetime, products for kids that won’t handle them with care; from the wiiu, it all went downfall :/
Dram the yes
I guarantee this guy splatters things on the console before he makes the videos.
Why have a fake restoration video when you have basically covered an old console in mud?
Click bait BS.

I’ve never own that gaming system but watching you restore it and seeing those graphics brought back memories that will last a lifetime.Awesome display of talent.Thank you.
That looks awful. Try taking a bit of pride in your work. The vents on the top of the case looks like tipex has been used.
Watching them put that nice clean Excitebike cartridge in that filthy console made my hair stand on end
Once again, I highly suspect this is a fake
Great restoration, old school can be fun. Can you do a restoration about the Sega Megadrive, that's the one I had back in the day.
the most impressive part of this video is finding out this dude has a third arm!! @12:18
Gonna have to cry foul on that ending. The whole thing screams faked. Sure the restoration looks great minus the crap he left on the whole right side of the top, but he's clearly not playing from that console. Purposefully keeping not only the power LED, but also the controller port out of sight? Not to mention buttons pressed not matching up with the video played. Come on man. Everyone knows A button to jump and B to run... A- for cleanup, but gotta fail you for not repairing the console.
L'une des meilleures consoles, elle devait passer entre tes mains, un résultat super comme toujours 👍👍👍👍
Something is off in this video, Console which he restore is PAL, in the end he tested with NTSC games cause PAL console suppose to run slower also have black bars on top and bottom
Yeah it was a bad restoration and faked gameplay of NTSC machine. Looks like emulated gameplay it's so clear.
The box says NES on the identification sticker underneath. I don't see PAL on the identifier.
@@gamedoutgamer It was almost certainly emulation. I'm sure he had his reasons, but it was played off as the NES he just restored. I suspect the final product had a power issue since the LED was cut off from the frame.
you should get a ultrasonic cleaner man, it makes things wayyyyyy faster.
Next time, when you show the final product, make sure to get the console's power light on the shot (like the chord to the controller). Looks totally faked (not even showing SMB boot, just straight up at the beggining of the level, lol). Good job cleaning the shit tho, I hope it worths the work for the views :|
You marbled the plastic case with the peroxide cream treatment. It looked bad after you de-yellowed it. You're supposed to massage the peroxide cream every 15 minutes or so and also make sure it doesn't dry out. It looked dried at the end. Even better just put it out in strong sunlight to remove yellowing. The broken plastic 'toothpick' fix looked bad. The gameplay at the end looked very emulated and not real. Like how you used power tools to clean the rust off the metal parts but it would have looked nicer if those surfaces were polished to a 'like new' finish. Now the rust will return because of how the metal brushes scratch the surface. 2/10 restoration.
Bro it's a restoration parody
It looked emulated because it was a PAL set.
Put your own restoration up.
I was born in 86 and this was my childhood. Nothing beats an original nes.
are you a dinosaur
87, same.
Great restoration, old school can be fun. Can you do a restoration about the Sega Megadrive, that's the one I had back in the day.
That’s my NES that got stolen from my storage unit
Saludos amigo gracias a ti he aprendido mucho acerca de darle mantenimiento a mis consolas y a reparar algunas que compre usadas saludos 🎮🇲🇽
Gracias realmente te aprecio! 🙏, ¡Me alegra que lo hayas disfrutado! ❤️
You really need to build yourself a 'bath' of hydrogen peroxide fluid that can be reused and reused, many times. The amount of money you must be spending on single-use-only h/p cream must be insane.
I have one of these in very very good condition with 2 controllers and the gun for shooting the with the duck game. Don’t know what to do with it.
Ricky from IBM, Ret
I wish I was around in the eighties to see The Nintendo entertainment system it would have been cool
One seriously has to question the intelligence of the idiots in the comment section who actually think this is real. Humanity is regressing before our very eyes.
It was almost 100 percent but I seen some flaws like the bottom grill on the one side and u left some salon care in the grates on top u should have cleaned out also u could have made the top grated inside but over all good job on the motherboard
Why is this so relaxing to watch ? Grew up with the NES. It was my babysitter , my best friend. I need another
I really agree with you it is relaxing to watch
Interesting!! I don’t think I ever noticed the edge finger contacts as HASL (hot air solder level). I thought they were always hard gold to withstand inserting multiple times.
Appliance voltage? 110 or 220 Volts?
Did it really need to be pushed down or they did that for theatrics
Love your restorations. I just wish you put a description of the proceedure and/or the stuff you use for restoration. Thanks. Great vids by the way.
Then everyone else will be doing it, I'm sure he doesn't want that...
@@ami2evil there are millions of consoles… this guy cant fix them all. The product to remove the yellow tint isn’t a secret. There are many products that will do it. Retro-brite is probably the most popular.
@@fatkat311 Good point, I think I want to try, seems easy enough...
@@ami2evil I’ve done it before. Not really hateful. It really does work well and doesn’t require much prep will take the yellow right out of any plastic and bring it back to New. If you don’t have access to UV lights You can leave it out in the sun for four hours or so it works just as well.
I love you nostalgia nitendo 😁🥰😘😍
Can somobody tell my from where HE buy that consoles bcs i want to do repair to 😀
I've never seen any old console in that bad of a shape
theres a few other methods that i would have done to fix this vs sand paper a dremel retro brighting and replacing the front loader. but over all not a bad restoration.
Wow,i am really surprise for this restoration, good job 🙂👍
XD
Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@resEG link to screw driver kit plz? :3
Erikrobi he is surprised XD
Cool! Got two PAL NES consoles, one in cosmetic bad-shape and the other one broken. Thinking of using the best parts for the project. Brand new connector will be installed aswell. Never thought about the yellowing of the plastic until I saw your video...but yep that is definitely an issue on both of the consoles. Need to learn more about this, seems to be a elaborate process? Great video and thank you for the inspiration to bring back this beast from the past!
The internal memory affected?
16:20 , what happened?
Control contacts are faulty.
very good👍👍
Muhteşem çalşma ! Elinize sağlık. 👍👏
🇹🇷
Why aren't you taping up the non grey parts? The solution WILL take out some of the black color. Also, the way the plastic is wrapped will cause "zebra" stripe patterns on it. You should set the plastic in a much more flat manner.
You could have protected the stickers as well.
For the parts where you are sanding, why not just use a magic eraser anyway?
I had a really rough week. Things are finally calming down.
What could be better than this console on this channel. Thank you for the perfect timing
Thanks a lot for the comment and kind words! Glad to help! 🙏
this console on odd tinkerings channel
@@TheAbandonedAccount7 I'd rather hear this from a different Brandon.
You know.. better brandon's than you. I'm not hating on you I swear. There is just better Brandons than you. I don't know why I took the time to write this typically I'm not a hater... I'm sorry Brandon what was your point?
Sorry to break it to you, but reddit exposed this guy as a fraud.
@@Th3Gam3925 yeah you're right I heard those weren't really his hands.. It was just a manifestation of idiotic thoughts.. You must have contributed like 90%
Meh, kinda cringy watching this. From sticking a clean cartridge into that system off the bat to using a sanding drum on the RCA outputs to the clearly faked finale…These types of copycat channels are always disappointing. Same thing with all the Primitive Technology knockoffs from Thailand and Cambodia- Trying to ride the coattails for the views.
20:21 Fake as hell, he's pressing the B button to jump. Also, even on composite, the NES isn't that clear.
😂 that's actually a normal functioning 8 bit NES right from the box after 2 yrs of nonstop use.
Ocean damage? Lol
real man you are a great repair artist, I am your fan and I want to learn a lot from you
Esse rapaz faz o conserto com muita dedicação e carinho!😊
I've just taken my NES apart and found a black stain on the circuit board. Do you know what it is?
I can take a pic of it, if you need it.
Was I the only person who noticed that the writing on the front of the game was damaged?
These kinds of videos are better at 1.5 speed
Hola, que tipo de herramienta usas para quitarle el oxido a la parte de aluminio metalico de la consola?
never EVER sand anything but as a last resort, always polish and elbow grease. as far as the retro briting there are better techniques just watch The 8-bit guy.
Can you give me a good Amazon site to get the right size Philips screw driver for me to open my old Nintendo to clean the 72 pin thanks
Did you buy the cartridge input thing, or clean up the old one? I think that is where ours has a problem. Sometimes it worked, other times not. Now not working at all.
I dont know what kind of NES my parents bought in 90s, but it had many games already intergrated in console, i didnt had diskettes that need you need to put in console in order to play, so strange.
Hey can you help me with my Ne- (JOKE PLZ DONT MY NES ISNT LIKE THIS)
The console was dirty as hell, yet the 72 pin and the board pins were pristine. Curious.
My cousin have this console from my aunt and he never let me play with it as a kid, I’m not even allowed to touch the controller as well, until to this day it’s still sitting in the shelves on display and no longer working.
Wish i could restore mine like this, have duck hunt/ super mario cassettes everything OG except cables lost those
is it just me who thinks all the things you restore look like they where from the same garbage dump... i cant believe how dirty they all are,,,
I need to get games for my Nes, I have the console but no games, I grow up playing Mario, I need a crtv as well
You were very intentionally avoiding showing that it was a modded nes for some reason. It had a standard nintendo composite or s video jack installed in the rear.
Also, it was pretty cool watching you somehow play it with left and right audio cables installed, and no video cable plugged in. Neat trick. 😂 🧐
I think it should still work. The cable ends are just color coded so you don't cross-wire them. But inside the cable is still the same [probably] stranded aluminum. That said, the gameplay video is still staged.
Ficou todo manchado a parte de baixo velho. E o plástico que vc colou nos quebrados ficou horrível! Mds eu esperava que fosse ficar perfeito.
Could have tested it without popping the game down. Clicking it down actually does nothing lmao
Dónde puedo conseguir la bandeja del cartucho, ya que la mía no lo detiene
It didn’t work the first time because you forgot to blow on the cartridge
That’s in a box somewhere in storage with duck hunt/super Mario
omg. I burned 100s of hours in college playing mario and super mario.
Had a SNES but not a NES, but traded it for a 64 ( got to know , to know , what the hell all that ment ) lol
ive seen a lot of restoration videos but nothing comes close to urs. damm
Takes me back before my kid was a back stabbing prick . Havent seen it since wow time warp
Chique show 👍👍!!!!!
Que bom que você gostou! ❤️
Anyone else hear the screaming in the background at 16:20? 😅
I got a NES at a yard sale a few years ago for 25 cents! . An amazing deal for 25 cents.
What the spray you spraying on the electrical board thing plz
Love your restorations.
I would suggest a wire wheel isntead of a sanding cylinder in the future.
por que los graficos se ven mejor que mi nes?? es un cable diferente?
As someone who repairs electronits fro a living I’m skeptical on how there was 0 PCB damage despite the rusty EMI shield, nor were the bottom screws even slightly rusty, something that happens as the water or humidity is affected by gravity.
I think this video is fake, mainly due to the gameplay demo. There is no way composite looks that clean, alongside the fact that there is integer scaling on an HDTV, which unless using an external upscaler wouldn't be the case normally.
I have teo of these in excellent condition. Wanna buy one? Lol
I use to be the best excite bike player! not really, but i loved playing it.
Thanks for watching
@@resEG Thanks for making the video! Keep em coming!
Eu tinha um desse 😢😢😭 ama esse console parabéns pelo seu canal
Ele é gringo, não entendeu oq tu falou

Posso usare un wd40 sbloccante? Per ripristinare i contatti
This was and will always be the best gaming console ever.
Do you have a link to that screwdriver?
Não e uma restauração e sim uma limpeza
