CJ I really like your videos man. You’re really engaging in your tone, you have really good pace when you commentate, and the editing is getting better and better. Keep it up man I really enjoy your videos and your work a lot
I love your approach on the Vanguard mechanics, it's nice to have someone who appreciates the positives of the less loved Zombies Games. Definitely subbing, we need more of this positivity in the Zombies community
It wouldn't have had the unique features this version does. Like I said, it's a great map not inspite of it being in vanguard, but BECAUSE of it being in vanguard.
The one thing I'll never forgive vanguard zombies is not allowing me to use my hard earned dark aether camo after pap, I can't even show off my hard work because of how dark the maps are.
Imagine if vanguard launched with verrukt reborn that does the same thing for verrukt, then shi no numa reborn was dlc 1, der reise reborn was dlc 2 and finally kino der toten reborn was dlc 3. People would have still moaned about reused assets for sure but I think overall vanguard would have been viewed so much better especially if the changes were as positive to those maps as they were for shi no. I intentionally left out nacht because die machine already did nacht in Cold War
Honestly i would like to see someone vanguardfied the waw maps and kino on bo3 customs, yes vanguard was bad but you can't lie the art style wss kinda cool
shi no numa had a massive glow up in vanguard, i never liked playing the map in waw or bo3 (never played the bo1 version) but vanguard fixed all my issues with the map, it added a pap machine and it made it so much easier to train zombies, plus the quest to build the wonderwaffel is so fun.
out of all the stuff to come from the dark aether saga of zombies, SNNR is my favorite turning a good map into a fantastic map with the gameplay additions of vanguard, amazing art direction and more avenues for movement with an old school layout is perfect, this is how to remake a zombies map. more of this please treyarch!
It's so good to see people that actually played saying what were their experiences on the map. Shi no numa reborn was def one of the most fun i had in zombies, the rogue like covenant system adds unbelieveble depth to the map and i really think they should have brought it back to BO6 now. The only turn off for me is the perk system. Not the price, i honestly never understood why people heavily complain about it, what i don't like is that it's just percentages increases and not new effects. Would be perfect if it was like that. But anyway, what an amazing video bro! it's so refreshing not seeing parrot people that board the hate train and instead actually plays the game and have their own thoughts. Zombies community is in desperate need of this
I watched this video and I bought Vanguard on sale to try it out, i've only played one game of Shi No Numa but it was fantastic and I feel it's my favourite version of the map I think, I love how you have to keep moving around the map if you want everything. The Vanguard mechanics are so good for round based and a balanced evolution of Cold War's with new mechanics that go really well with the mode too, I would love them to bring the mechanics back but I have a feeling they won't with Gobblegums returning Keep up the great work, I really love your videos
That's awesome, man! My goal with videos like this is to show something that I enjoy to others so they can hopefully see the value that I do. I'm glad I could expose you to a great time like Shi no reborn! It is a shame, though, that we won't be seeing content like this again, most likely.
I’m very surprised, I myself jumped on the bandwagon of hating vanguard but ur vid has inspired me and prolly many others to give it another chance with blood tinted glasses off
One thing I'm glad you did here was mention the vanguard upgrade system, I know many people disagree, but it's way better than the cold war skill trees, it's much more interactive AND rewarding for me because I'm not just trudging through early rounds, it makes me want to survive longer, and I honestly would prefer if the next game's system would be similar, but that's just me
When it comes to the perks however, the upgrades really suck. Jugg for example only gives 50 health at a time. It should give the standard 250 health on first purchase, and then be upgraded from there. The actual upgrades just feel like they're bringing the perks to where they're already supposed to be
Well maybe they could've done more health first then offered more defense options, jug at base was 4 hits so I'd assume 200 health was the standard. Either way, I still feel it's a more interactive system compared to cold war
@Dr.Hans.Volter 4 hits was exclusive to BO4. In every other game, 5 hits was the standard. 50 health per hit, thus it was 250 health with Jugg. In Vanguard, you can go up to 300 on the final upgrade, but it's literally the only upgrade that is an UPGRADE
Yeeeeeeeees, this is my fav version of this map, I hate that it is in vanguard but in my opinion this is how they should do remasters, allow players to play the map as intended like it was back in the day but then add things to pack these old maps cuz they don’t hold up in today game, not saying they r not fun but it’s clear many don’t really play on these for hrs like they would for origins, shadows and much more
I've played Shi no Numa Reborn a fair amount and while I agree with basically all of your points, I have had so many connection issues on this map that have made in impossible to play comfortably. Getting packet bursts and hit detection every play session in solo makes me want to Alt-F4. Genuinely if I didn't have those issues I might like the gameplay loop of this map more than any CW map (And I love CW).
man as i said before you always kill it with these videos. you actualy analize the games before doing a review (you dont just jump into the hate train some people do too). by the way i would love if one day you can talk about the darkest shore its a map i see a lot of hate and in my opinion it isnt perfect but it really isnt as bad as people say (besides the boss fight)
I'm not gonna lie. You made me hyped for this map. So I bought vanguard and tried it out. Honestly I wasn't very impressed with the mechanics. The perks system does balance out the op perks but the packapunch system is awful. You never have to do it unless you got a wonder weapon because the box just gives them to you. And you don't have to worry about aats either. Honestly though it was just as easy as cold war. I beat the ee in the 2 hour mark per steams return policy because I wasn't feeling $60 being drained from me. At the end of the day probably a b tier map. Fairly fun but the ee was very short and the boss fight was underwhelming. But you have some very powerful ability to convince me after all of the people roasting this game. Keep up the good vids.
Had to try it tho. Steam never really gets any good deals on cods and didn't feel like going an hour out to find a gamestop since they closed down here.
Honestly this is one of my favourite maps in the newer zombies games. I'd play it over MW3, Outbreak, Firebase Z and Die Machine. If this was a launch map it would've been well received and Vanguard mechanics would've had a higher chance of returning. If at the mid/end of Vanguards life cycle Treyarch said "We've been developing this new gamemode to try capture the success of Ourbreak, let us know how this is so we can maybe develop it further for our next game" the objective mode probably would've been more accepted
@CJSanta should add on, I'm not opposed to more Outbreak/Objectives based modes (wouldn't like to see MWZ return though). Vanguard did fix my main issue with Outbreak, with the maps being too large and barely anything in them. However Vanguard was missing objectives that made it too repetitive If Bo6 has it, it can't take away from the main content like Outbreak did, maybe have a small team work on the mode on the side, should they decide to tie it in with the story, a main quest could be added between maps (Where ever it fits within the timeline). If Activision wants zombies in every game and insists Treyarch makes it, I don't mind Outbreak/Objective modes returning as long as that's the first thing announced when they say Treyarchs working on it, then the community can decide whether they're going to get it or skip it
I feel like the problem with Outbreak is that it took away content for round based and Outbreak is causing the downfall of Cod Zombies, if Outbreak never happened, Vanguard Zombies would’ve never been on the drawing board, Outbreak is a good mode but it’s like the big guy who hogs the bed, Outbreak took over Cold War and it was so successful, if BO6 zombies is bad, I’m blaming it on Outbreak, Warzone ruined zombies and breaking it more than my mental state, Treyarch has to cook for BO6 or……. I WILL BE DONE!!!!!!!
I have to so agree. Practically everything this map is just better than the original version. The objective based maps in vanguard are just bad, I was literally bored in my first match playing der an fang. Shi no numa reborn though is what I consider to be the best reimagining of any zombies map since no location in the map is useless. There’s always something to go back for in each area, those being things like the wunderwaffe quest, upgrading you perks, doing the main EE and the new area really does help with map flow since you don’t have to run through the centre of the map. I’d say they probably should’ve added a similar area to where PaP is on the other side of the map and would have like a new perk or something there I know I’m just reiterating what you said in the video but I’m just trying to say how everything you said about this map I completely 100% agree with Also there’s a few menus they could’ve removed like pack a punch and the book and the alter of covenants(this could’ve had like 3 skulls which show what they offer then when you get one of the covenants the skull would eat the heart which would be pretty cool)
@@CJSanta Nice. I’ve been considering getting Vanguard for Shi No Numa since I bought the T-800 cosmetic for Warzone (the only reason I even played that game) and now I can’t even use it.
Love your videos and I'll be finishing this one, but if you use other people's clips please try to balance the audio. I turned the player up at the start based on you voice volume and those clips were so loud.
I know, with my editing software, it can be a bit tough to hear. Also because all I have to hear them on is a cheap surface tablet. I can't even plug in headphones 😢
Nah, we treated it just right, Shi No Numa Reborn was the only map I enjoyed on Vanguard, the game bad, but it's fun, unlike the CoD games like MW19 and MW22
@@CJSanta hoenstly I think if they made Der Anfang and Terra Maledicta their own unique maps instead of multiplayer/campaign maps, they would've been conceived better. I didn't mind the mode they were going for, it's just a bland maps that I had a problem with.
Interesting video! If I ever try out vanguard this will be the first map to play. I'm still very skeptical on cod post bo4 (I felt very mixed about it) but I may try out the newest game when it's on a reduced price. The HUD is something I'm not a fan of but I guess it's just the norm now with health bars etc
@@CJSanta ah oh wow, that's interesting. I'm not the biggest fan of the HUD but I'm willing to deal with it. I'll keep checking out some more gameplay but I'll just have to get used to it lol. I'll keep an eye out for some game sales lol
shi no numa is honestly my fav WaW map. It has my favorite WW and a simple but enjoyable layout. If it had paper I honestly would place it above der riese. Vanguards version isn't perfect but its prob the most fun of the 3
I already said something on tag der toten about his opinions being wacky, but I can relate to this, the only downside is that IT WAS IN VANGUARD OF ALL GAMES, VANGUARD
CJ I believe getting rid of dlc packs led to the decline of content and effort in zombies since devs have no obligation to make the maps good to sell them since they’re free I would love to see a video on this I would gladly pay for some actual deep maps
I believe dlc packs should not come back because casual players should keep up with the life cycle of the game, Cold War would be the exact same game if it had dlc packs, if anything it would be WAY WORSE
When you put pap in Shi No, it's hard not to just instantly call it the best version. Waw will always be better than bo1 because of it's gun selection and 24 zombies per round, but the regen on dog round mixed with the lower health of WaW jugg makes the rounds way harder than they should be
That little edit you had of the different RUclipsrs disregarding vanguard zombies without playing the latter maps was so freaking hilarious. Always feels cheap to see people just jumping on the hate train
So I got vangaurd about a month ago and returned it to gamestop in them so I could try it out. I did have fun but I got burned quickly the maps are so generic and bland. My biggest gripe about the shi no Numa is how the guns are pre pack a punched off the wall... that is just ridiculous hand holding.
@DizzyReaper I believe it is every 7 to 10 rounds where the wall guns become packed. But unlike the wall weapons in Cold War where they increase in rarity and barely in price, the wall guns in vanguard that become packed get very VERY expensive. Which does encourage the player to hit the box more.
@@CJSanta Ah yes bc there has never been a penalty for going down in zombies before this perk system was introduced right? Not like dealing with super sprinters at 100 health will be a penalty
@dmdudes2 in bo4 where the super sprinters were introduced, if you went down you lost one perk automatically and slowly would lose the rest if you didn't get revived faster. Each game handles downing differently.
I like it and it’s the only map on vangarbage I truely like the look of but it also suffers from vangarbages faults bad enemies alter of rng awful perk fountains
CJ what do you think of the bo6 leaks? As a story lover I am beside myself that we will be playing as operators for the FOURTH CONSECUTIVE GAME 🤬🤬🤬. If they’re gonna add pay to win gums at least give us some characters.
@@CJSanta there’s a leak of a Brutus skin that will come with the special edition of the game and I doubt they’re adding that for just MP. I hope I’m wrong. The second I hear Nolan North say “Richtofen is not in ze next call of duty, I blame Dempsey” I’m gonna lose it.
@@CJSanta it’s from Mr Rofflewaffles and DK Dynamite. I just took it to mean that it’ll be operators again but I guess I could be wrong since there were technically operators in bo4. God I hope I’m wrong.
Honestly wish chronicles was like this the only maps I really ever play are moon (for the ee) and origins the others are too simple and boring wish they atleast had a main ee that u could do solo
People are so venomous towards Vanguard (which... I don't blame them I absolutely detest the game) they aren't willing to try or admit there is something genuinely good here, great even.
Vanguard Zombeis wasn't that bad it was just hate bandwagoned in my opinion Also i hope they retcon MWIIIZ because the story feels like a disaster, but the gameplay isnt halfbad in my eyes
Again, I made an entire opening chapter to the video to difarinceiate the round based maps from the objective ones, to try and get rid of this notion that just because something is in a game with bad maps, not all of it is bad.
How can you say so many positive things about this map but not mention the fact that the storm Krueger is the worst zombie type cause it’s equipped with a death machine. Zombies should NOT be allowed to shoot at you. Only humans/players. If I wanted to get shot at I would just go play multiplayer or campaign. I shouldn’t have to except to be shot at in a zombies map.
@shipwreck_shark I'm positive because the map is good. And the stormkreigers actually pace their shots unlike the mercs from mwz, they can't get rid of a full armor plate in a second, they're slow moving, and their gun has a wind up which can be avoided. I agree shooting enemies with hitscan weapons shouldn't be in zombies, parasites and their little shots are fine, but the kreiger is the LEAST terrible of the ai that shoot you, that includes the human enemies from exo zombies too. 😬
@@CJSanta ok you got me there. Going off topic I have to admit I like how you reply to a lot of comments you get on your videos. I don’t think I’ve seen another RUclipsr reply as much as much as you. I do respect you for that.
@@shipwreck_shark I genuinely like to talk about zombies, I do my best to read every comment I can. Because talking and sharing opinions is how we keep zombies alive 🥲
Shi No numa Reborn is just a striaght better version than the chronicles and the OG verision. Overall not the greatest map ever but very decent and underappreciated
@@CJSanta I agree SNNR is the best part about the game but all the other maps are mediocre and the core mechanics of vanguard are mehhh at best, the campaign was the worst campaign in the franchise besides maybe BO3 and the MP was easily the worst we have ever gotten lol I mean sledgehammer legit tweeted out that vanguard was going to be a “tactical” experience, and that is the literal antithesis of CoD MP lol

I didn't mind the mode they were going for, it's just a bland maps that I had a problem with.
Another banger
What’s the best weapon in Vanguard Zombies? I know everyone says the revolver shotgun
The EX1, the returning ar from advanced Warfare. Has infinite ammo and with the right attachments can melt. 😊
With how the zombies began to do more damage over time, starting in Cold War, having a health bar is pretty important 😮
@@CJSanta ah oh wow, that's interesting. I'm not the biggest fan of the HUD but I'm willing to deal with it. I'll keep checking out some more gameplay but I'll just have to get used to it lol. I'll keep an eye out for some game sales lol
great vid
shi no numa is honestly my fav WaW map. It has my favorite WW and a simple but enjoyable layout. If it had paper I honestly would place it above der riese. Vanguards version isn't perfect but its prob the most fun of the 3
I always thought that if they just made reborn versions of all the WaW maps, people would have enjoyed it way more and would have been really cool
Absolutely!
Hell fucking no anything with vanguard mechanics makes me sick to look at
I might just buy vanguard just to play this thanks
@@666dandark Be sure to get it on discount 😅
@@CJSanta is 10 dollars a fair price?
@@666dandark 100%
I already said something on tag der toten about his opinions being wacky, but I can relate to this, the only downside is that IT WAS IN VANGUARD OF ALL GAMES, VANGUARD
Ngl I gave up vanguard zombies after Terra Maledicta had released but this might be the best map in vanguard (maybe the best SNN remake as well.)
Vanguard? More like Vansheit
Vanguard could of almost had a leg to stand on if they lauched shi no numa on launch with der anfang
Had me thinking about buying Vanguard. I snapped out of it though.
Again, get it from the bargin bin for 10 bucks
Can I ask when did you start playing zombies?
World at War Nacht 😃
@@CJSanta 2008? Or more recent?
@@ReditTheFerit 2009
CJ I believe getting rid of dlc packs led to the decline of content and effort in zombies since devs have no obligation to make the maps good to sell them since they’re free I would love to see a video on this I would gladly pay for some actual deep maps
This is absolutely something that's happened, and I'll get to make a video about that sometime before BO6 comes out.
I believe dlc packs should not come back because casual players should keep up with the life cycle of the game, Cold War would be the exact same game if it had dlc packs, if anything it would be WAY WORSE
W video
Which does encourage the player to hit the box more.
what if i never liked shi no numa to begin with? still worth checking out this version?
100% because enough new is here to enjoy. Plus, Training in the Dig site is alot of fun 😁
As you buy stronger perks the machine should permanently upgrade. This would stop you from having to buy perks an annoying amount of times on downs
Well if that was the case there'd be no penalty for going down
@@CJSanta Ah yes bc there has never been a penalty for going down in zombies before this perk system was introduced right? Not like dealing with super sprinters at 100 health will be a penalty
@dmdudes2 in bo4 where the super sprinters were introduced, if you went down you lost one perk automatically and slowly would lose the rest if you didn't get revived faster.
Each game handles downing differently.
@@CJSanta Thats still a penalty for going down? So I’m just lost as to how that relates tbh
🔥🔥🔥
Shi no Numa reborn was such a step in the right direction for the game.
(And then they proceeded to fucking fumble the last map😭)
I like it and it’s the only map on vangarbage I truely like the look of but it also suffers from vangarbages faults bad enemies alter of rng awful perk fountains
CJ what do you think of the bo6 leaks? As a story lover I am beside myself that we will be playing as operators for the FOURTH CONSECUTIVE GAME 🤬🤬🤬. If they’re gonna add pay to win gums at least give us some characters.
Have they confirmed that they will be bringing back operators again?!
@jackpot2223 good God of they still refuse to listen to the community the we're doomed.
I much prefer reamking maps aka. Adding new content to them, rather than just porting them.
People are so venomous towards Vanguard (which... I don't blame them I absolutely detest the game) they aren't willing to try or admit there is something genuinely good here, great even.
if it wasnt shitty it still would be shitty. The main color of this version is black. It has no personality.
me trying to justify a stupid purchase
"I don't do regrets." -Live action One Piece Luffy
Vanguard Zombeis wasn't that bad it was just hate bandwagoned in my opinion
Also i hope they retcon MWIIIZ because the story feels like a disaster, but the gameplay isnt halfbad in my eyes
same guy who said de is worse than a vanguard map
Again, I made an entire opening chapter to the video to difarinceiate the round based maps from the objective ones, to try and get rid of this notion that just because something is in a game with bad maps, not all of it is bad.
I would agree the Vanguard version was the best version. Visually it was really good! And just how it played felt soo good
How can you say so many positive things about this map but not mention the fact that the storm Krueger is the worst zombie type cause it’s equipped with a death machine.
Vanguard isn’t just the worst zombies mode it’s the worst call of duty period lol there isn’t a single thing about the game that’s “good”
Well, I disagree, I think the devs made something work with Shi no numa reborn
@@CJSanta I agree SNNR is the best part about the game but all the other maps are mediocre and the core mechanics of vanguard are mehhh at best, the campaign was the worst campaign in the franchise besides maybe BO3 and the MP was easily the worst we have ever gotten lol I mean sledgehammer legit tweeted out that vanguard was going to be a “tactical” experience, and that is the literal antithesis of CoD MP lol
Best version? Sure
A good map? Absolutely not
What's bad about it?
What's your beef with Shi No Numa?
Well, I always thought shi no was good, Vanguard’s just added more to an already great map
