Did he ever do anything very great? Why is he & his wife so wealthy now? I’ve heard they have 5 homes. So President Trump was already wealthy when he became president. However, the Obama’s BECAME very wealthy during his presidency. Just one of so many things that doesn’t sit well me.

These misguided policies prevented the economy from recovering earlier.

every country has its own interests and agenda, however there is common ground to be explored. rather than prolonging dangerous hostility, engage in friendly and co-equal diplomacy, not bullying. america cannot expect to have continuing world influence if it continues to look down and talk down to other world leaders, irregardless of how radical they are or may seem to be.

    Hi, 2020 here:
Can this guy please come back? It's so nice to hear the president talk in cohesive sentences and who understands what he is talking about. Besides he wouldn't ignore scientists if they don't agree with him and ignore a f***ing pandemic for months until it's to late and then brag about how "well" he handles the mess. What a time to be alive...

Are you serious? How can I, as a concerned citizen, criticize a sitting president when I couldn't possibly understand how difficult his job is? Are you really suggesting we apply that standard - reserving criticism - to all presidents? By that logic, why stop at the U.S.? Why not apply it to Chavez in Venezuela? Zimbabwe's Mugabe? For that matter, we're now in a good position to understand just how difficult it was for Saddam to keep his disparate country together. But withhold judgment of him??

Watching this 14 years later, I think that the people in this room severely underestimated the amount of deficit spending that this bill would cost and subsequent programs would cost in the next 8 years. Something had to be done about the recession, no doubt, and I applaud Obama for that, but the deficit would later balloon upwards of 15 trillion in the next 8 years, something that I think working class Americans and their families will be struggling with for probably the next 50 years.

Let me explain what "change" is for those that dont understand. Change is seeing a Black man win a presidential election and inspiring ANYONE, to want to follow their dreams. But for a young black teen to turn on the TV and see a man that looks like him succeed by gaining the ultimate position of the American Presidency, is very powerful and does inspire "change". Change can happen outside the white house. It is happening to people all across this nation to want to do something positve in life.

The difference is like water and fire. Obama's eloquent narrative flows smoothly and sensibly, addressing all issues with equanimity and insight. Trump's narrative is Quixotic, just a tirade of whining complaints and threats mixed with wild promises. Trump has equally serious issues to deal with now he's in the hot seat... Is he equipped to deal with these issues? Obviously he is not endowed with the character or knowledge or experience necessary to deal with politics, economics, or any other key issue, and he has gathered a team of dangerously ignorant and misguided people around him, however; some good appointees are coming into key positions in government, and many key positions continue across administration changes to provide necessary continuity in government and the checks and balances provided by the Senate, Congress and the Judiciary will hopefully carry Trump's presidency through without too much damage.

if usa govt wants to save money, let it pass a stimulus package of about say 1 to 2 billion dollars and send 1 million dollar checks as rebates to families, small businesses and or individuals that pay taxes. let the banks and auto industry sort out thier own mess with limited govt intervention. i submit housing problem would be solved, small businesses would get some relief and would have funds to stay afloat, 800, 8000 and the 400 in the current stimulus pork bill is a disgrace

with all due respect metalica547, please check out your history of the 1929 crash and its subsequent Depression. The president at the time of the crash and the first years of the depression was Hoover (Republicn) and he refused to put into play the idea of government injection of activity to keep the economy moving. Keynes' thinking only came in with FDR, in 1933.
And, I hope you are getting some relief from being laid off. Take care of yourself.
