President Obama Holds End-Of-Year News Conference of 2016 | President Obama today used his year-end news conference to rebuke the ongoing civil war in Syria, saying the regime there “cannot slaughter their way to legitimacy.”
The president also condemned what he said was the role of foreign governments, including Russia and Iran, in prompting the violence in Syria.

But thanks to Obama that's now pretty much history. Competition on the insurance market is at an all time low, premiums are skyrocketing, deductibles are so high, you'd be better off paying for your medication yourself, quality of medication and service is falling rapidly, many free clinics are going out of business and so on and so on.
And don't get me started on "but muh Europe". I from Germany and it is a huge mess here right now. The system is collapsing in the very same way it collapsed in an instant in the US, just a bit slower because it's not as messed up as is Obamacare. Doesn't make it any better in the long run, tho.
Mm, nope. My husband owns his business and before Obamacare I could not get coverage because of preexisting conditions. Interestingly, the insurance company sent us new plans. The deductible was much less and the total out of pocket was much less so the premiums were higher. I am thinking they want us to think it went up when they changed the plan. Funny, huh?

These statistics do not match reality in everyday life! My daughter pays 1,200 a month for insurance for a family of 4 with 1,000.00 deductible for each one of them. Another family member paid 10,000.00 for necessary dental work.. People I know that do not work get monthly spend all day at the gym since free gym membership is given to them. My husband and I have been in the place where we made to much to get a break yet not enough to afford medical without being strapped. We are still in that place.

High insurance costs did not start with the ACA nor did they end. The inflation has slowed somewhat but not to the amount projected during the passage of the bill.
That being said, repealing the ACA will only make it worse as it will remove healthy/younger people (who are currently required to have insurance) from the risk pool, leaving only the people that actually cost the insurance companies money.

I watched the entire speech on television. What really bothered me is on he handled a woman passing out during his speech. Right around 1:11:00, he states, where was I, after a woman in the crowd has problems, and someone in the crowd stops him again. He was going to continue talking until someone in crowd stops him again. After they get the doctor, he just picks up where he left off, without saying anything to the woman, to show concern. As for the rest of the speech, he lies throughout the speech, and one of his worst speeches he has ever given.
The part that struck me funny, is around 1:22:00, Obama states that more than 1/3 of the GOP approve of Vladimir Putin, like that is a bad thing. :D I think it is higher than that, and there are Democrats that also have respect for Vladimir Putin, for stopping WWIII, that Obama almost got us into. Vladimir Putin should get the Peace Prize, not the one who admits we have gone to war with these 7 other countries.

I'm having a hard time buying this: 1) People are signing up for health insurance because they HAVE to, not bc they want to. It is expensive and almost mandatory, unless you'd rather pay an ugly tax bill. 2) Unemployment figures don't cover UNDEREMPLOYMENT: you could be a CPA who works as a part-time babysitter and still be considered *Employed* by the BLS. 3) Wages might be rising, but the rent and cost of living are rising even faster. You can't even find a decent apartment in most cities for less than $1100/month, unless you want to live in the ghetto. In which case, Dems are making too hard for you to protect yourself from rape and murder using a gun. 4) We caught Bin Laden. Whoopdiedoo, now we have ISIL. 5) threat of terror from overs ease has not been reduced. Ask Europe. 6) if in fact it was reduced, how do we know it wasn't due to GW Bush's wars and infiltration of the enemy?

Regardless of how we all feel about Barack Obama and what he did/didn't accomplish while as President, can we at least all agree that OVERALL (cause every President does have some failures) the United States of America is in a better place because of his presidency?
I am a democrat but I will put political bias aside for this critique (for the most part). Yes, ObamaCare did have its problems, the national debt nearly doubled, Guantanamo Bay has still not been closed, ISIS became a military problem, North Korea is a bigger threat than ever, and shootings are seen as a bigger/more common problem in our society today. Also, he pledged to bring the political parties in Congress together and be a unifier President, but (whether it was his policies or the decisions by the Congress) that didn't happen. There were plenty of failures during the last 8 years, even his biggest supporters won't deny that.
With that said, he does have many accomplishments, even with these failures; millions of people now have healthcare, Osama Bin Laden and many terrorist leaders are dead, the wars started by George W. Bush ended, Guantanamo Bay's prison population has been reduced to only a handful, and race-issues can't just be ignored like they used to be in our society. The unemployment rate is lower than it was during George W. Bush's 2nd term, the auto, banking, and housing industries have recovered from the greatest crisis since the 1930s, we have begun re-establishing relations with Cuba and Iran for the 1st time in decades, and the U. S. brought the whole world together on global climate change agreements. Furthermore, every LGBT citizen can legally marry, more states have legalized medicinal marijuana, women's pay wage gaps have decreased, he put 2 women on the Supreme Court, and millions of Hispanic and Islamic immigrants have become citizens. These were a lot of difficult issues to deal with in just 8 years, and even when the majority of politicians and citizens disagreed with this man he never gave up trying to make our country better despite many setbacks.
Overall, was Barack Obama a perfect President? No, I will admit that he did have some failures, though he shouldn't be blamed for every bad thing that happened during his Presidency. Is the country as a whole better off now than it was in January of 2009? Yes, but we still have more we need to come together on (Democrats, Republicans, and Independents) to keep making progress to improve the lives of every American. Finally, in terms of being the 1st African-American President, he did the best he could despite the prejudice and racism he faced. Plus, regardless whether you personally liked this man or not, he leaves office with a decent approval rating with more people liking him than those that don't.
While we don't know how many of his accomplishments or failures will be remembered in the near future, as a whole Barack Obama will be seen as the 1st African-American President that made this country better than it was when he started despite opposition and uncertainty; that (in my opinion) will be his legacy!
No one know who Obama is or where he came from. I am a US citizen, and before he was ever elected president no one I knew had ever heard of him or his name. Where did He come from? I do not know the President, nor do any of my friends or family. I do not trust in strangers, and Obama is a stranger to me. But I do wish he would leave quietly. He is making things worse for all America, he is a shameful man in my eyes. Love to see him get out of the White House.

Because the US government is run democratically and when no one wants to pay for keeping the internet based in the USA or under US companies (Microsoft or Google) then it goes wherever it goes.
If you want the US government to do whatever it wants with private entities, then you can look at China and how that works out.
