This has to be one of my favorite Vlogs. Every zombie film that has come along since owes it's existence to this movie, the one that started it all. Even though the farmhouse is long gone, it was great seeing the land where it once stood, and must have been cool standing on the spot where they made film history 53 years ago. Good to see Scott along to see this.
I remember seeing this movie in the early 80's. When VHS became more available, or they showed it on the late movie, we watched this movie every Halloween. Thanks for the tour of the filming locations. Very well done as always.
Weren't you?!? LOL I really really enjoyed your documentary on Helter skelter and I think you seem like a genuine person I'd love to meet. When I get my shuttle bus and turn it into a camper, can I come buy you lunch and chat?
A appreciate the respect of this team to put some flowers for the deaths name at key events in the cemetery, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by families behinds those names in this documentary.
Great trip down memory lane, love this movie. I never tire of this classic and I feel still holds up after 53 year's, definitely passed the test of time which is very rare for low budget movies.
My older brother David that passed in 2017 introduced me to this movie in the early 80's. I owe my love of zombie movies to him. This one brought up many memories. Thanks Jordan!
Gosh Jordon, Thank you so much. Again brilliant research. Great match ups too. So much work & effort goes I too making these episodes. Always fabulous to see our Jah. I noted Jordon that you read Jah's body language perfectly. At the bugging of the episode when you two were in the car, Jah gives his drink bowl a subtle lick. You automatically one he was thirsty. Beautiful. Good to see Scott. Scott is so knowledgeable. Thank you again. Your work is so very much appreciated.
I really enjoyed this Vlog, It sure looked like a lot of fun to be in the Cemetery where they made the great horror movie Night of the Living Dead. I understand how you feel about your Dad. Every time I go to a White Sox game I think of how my Dad used to take me as a little boy.
Good piece. An interesting fact about this movie. For some reason NLD was never registered for copyright or ownership. As a result it was a public domain movie, which can be shown anywhere with no permission, So, sadly little money was made for all involved in the movie.
I have watched several videos on your channel and I just want you to know your work, style of videos, and all the genre of topics are wonderful!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Back in 2005, and again in 2006, I met the Cemetery Ghoul Bill Hinzman. He was a regular down to earth guy, had his Pennsylvania accent, he was drinking a Snapple Iced tea while we chatted about the movie. I did ask him what one of his favorite Horror was that he wasn't affiliated with.. He told me the Original Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis 1978... Nice guy... The first time I met him, he was in regular street clothes, the 2nd time, he was dressed as the Zombie, looked pretty authentic from the movie with some age.. Another side note....He told me when he broke the car window with the Rock, it flew out of his hand.. The window was harder to break than he anticipated, it was not in the script to let go of the rock... Nice video, thank you!
This was a very interesting video, we are not into the Night of the Living Dead but it was very interesting to see where it was filmed and how it was made. So glad to see Jah and Mr. Scott Michaels again. You all have so much fun. We do love seeing how these movies are made and what locations are used for them. Glad you and your Dad got to see it together
awesome job ! I met several cast members at the Chiller Theatre convention in New Jersey about 15 years ago....Russell Streiner, John Russo, Chilly Billy (the first zombie from that scene) and Kyra Schon. I have a VHS tape with all their signatures. My most prized possession.
Always wanted to know where this was filmed! My best friend and I made a blanket tent outside. We dragged a TV with a wire hanger antenna and watched this in 1970 !!
This movie freaked me out too ! I couldn't watch till the end but years later I watched it DURNING THE DAY !!! I still had night mares for a while . I ended up buying the CD from a video store and have it to this day . I play it every Halloween . The second movie was even good but funny. Thanks for sharing .
Hi Jordan & Jah, what an iconic film. I think you have done a brilliant job of matching up the locations here as usual. Such a shame the original farmhouse has gone but at least you got to go where it was. It will be nice seeing the Museum tomorrow and it's lovely that Scott has come along aswell. Great vlog Jordan.
I was at the Monroeville Mall, the little airport and the Evans City cemetery at the end of June. Unfortunately the Living Dead museum wasnt open the day I was there. Looks like I'll have to make another trip. 🙂 This video was excellent!!!!!
I saw this as a kid on KTLA channel 5 in Los Angeles in the late 70's. It was terrifying ! The fact that it was in Black & White made it extra creepy. Classic film & the sequel was awesome as well.
Ok, zombie movies aren't really my thing. But you did an awesome job on this vlog, Jordan. Your match-up shots are perfect and you did a great job telling the story!
That movie freaked me out too so it was pretty awesome that you did the filming locations. So sad the house is gone, that would of been good to see too. Hi Jah! Pets, kisses to the little rascal! Keep on being you! 🦴🐾❤️
I just knew your "mystery guest" was Scott! Who else could you possibly take on an adventure with a classic movie such as this? You two are like the classic dynamic duo.
Wow!!! So cool Jordan! Night of the Living Dead! I love Jah’s drinking bottle too. I gotta get one like that for my fur baby. Lol….thanks for another cool vlog. 👍🏽😁♥️💯
Awesome 👍 vlog buddy I wonder if that Pontiac lemans is still around..my brother had one just like it years ago I drove it I remember the power steering was so easy to steer.
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out. I think we were all freaked out watching this. It took me years to get over it. I'm going to watch it this week. Thanks for the video
I use to go to the Midnight movies all the time 1978 and 79 mostly, the theater was walking distance from our House. I was 18 in 1979 Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, so many more too! Thanks for taking me back to a Great time in my Life, this was Great! I knew that was Scott as your Mystery Guest ha ha! Thanks! Oh yeah Remember the Horrible Gas pump scene, the pretty Girl says My Jacket's caught in the Truck door then it Blows up Zonbies come have a Barbecue Gross!!
E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T as Mr. Burns of The Simpsons would say I'm sure! Thank You Jordan for a wonderful reveal of this movie which I have watched over and over again since I was a teenager. It came out the same year I entered active service in the Army. And ever so often when it pops up on RUclips I'll watch it again! It is a great combination of Spook and Humor. Hats off to George Romero!
Excellent vlog Jordan as usual! I enjoyed seeing where Night Of The Living Dead locations was filmed at. A lot of interesting information that you gave about the film. What George A. Romero did is pretty classic in doing a film because if you know people who want to do a film they will do it. I was offered this Saturday to be in a independent film, but because I was so dead tired from working the night before and I was going through some training for my Conceal Carry I did not do the role in the film.
I had heard that the house they used was going to be torn down soon. That allowed them to tear the place up like they did in the film. You can even see a calendar with the year 1966 on it, so it was probably abandoned for those two years.
If I'm not mistaken, the basement scenes were not filmed in a farmhouse. this is quite common. I studied at a stunt school myself and studied acting in courses. and quite often it happened that the outer house was rented and what was happening could be filmed, say, in another place. it would be interesting to see the place where the basement itself was filmed. They showed the building on one channel, but they couldn't get into the basement itself.
Jordan you’re amazing. I have lived in PA 67 years and haven’t been to as many places as you have !!!! I am enjoying every one of them and you have inspired me to start getting around the sites in Pennsylvania!!!!
This is such a great video Jordan. I am enjoying the filming locations of this movie so much. This movie scared me to no end when I finally got to see it as a kid. A side note: Where did you get that ingenious water bottle for Jah or did you put it together yourself? Great idea. I've never seen one before. Can't wait for part 2. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵
I was 14 when this movie came out, loved it then and still do. Best horror movie ever made in my opinion. :) Carnival of Souls my second fav horror movie.
There was a show in the 80's called "Mad Movies" that did funny voice overs of low budget films, and none of them were as funny as the Night of the Living Dead. Cool video man! Keep up the good work! And I MUST get one of those water things for my dog!! lol
This movie was the first and only movie my parents said I couldn’t watch because it would give me nightmares. (I was still in onesies sleepware) They were absolutely right. I had re-occurring nightmares until I saw Dawn of the Dead in 7th grade and started to like the idea of the ultimate weapons for killing zombies. When they killed Glen I had enough of zombie movies.
HEY, JORDAN & JAH And friend Scott the ( Death Hag ) That was such a awesome frightening scary movie when it was released back in 1968 I did see the movie some years later at the Drive-In with my brother and his girlfriend after seeing that movie I had nightmares for days after that Well OK take care stay safe and will see you on the next adventure
I have the 30th anniversary of the original Night of the Living Dead on DVD. This 1 has new scene added to it and it shows were the cemetery Zombie came from
Location Location Location I love this movie 🎬 we used to play zombies as a child because of the movie. And now I get to see through your eyes 👀 where it all began thanks Jordan 🧡💛💚it.
Totally was taken aback by this movie It was dry, black and white, creepy zombies. Scene when they attack the guy in the burned up truck was disturbing.
Cool video! I'm going there 1 week from today! Out of curiosity, are there any places to eat close to the entrance to the cemetery? I'm debating just uber-ing the trip (getting there from the Pittsburgh airport should be ok I think) but getting to my next destination...Monroeville!...might be a little tricky. If there's a business a half mile or so (or less!) then I think I'd be ok. Otherwise, maybe I should rent a car?
Great vlog, Jordan. NOTLD has been one of my favorite horror flicks since I was a kid, when I saw it on late night TV in the early 70s, and didn't get a minute's sleep that night.
I saw this and I could've sweared that in the scene where she first walks up to the cemetery zombie and a front shot of him with his eyes rolled up exposing just the whites of his eyes. Maybe that scene was removed later I do not know.
I love filming locations then and now. Extremely interesting how much landscape has changed over the years.

Love when you and Scott film together. You did a great job matching up photos. Give Jah a hug. He is adorable 💙
My older brother David that passed in 2017 introduced me to this movie in the early 80's. I owe my love of zombie movies to him. This one brought up many memories. Thanks Jordan!
Awesome video! I love the shot by shot where you're comparing everything from the movie to present day.
Gosh Jordon, Thank you so much. Again brilliant research. Great match ups too.

Surely enjoyed u taking us along with you guys-a classic journey with excellent interpretation
The black and white film adds a lot to the creepiness of the original. Must be tough finding all those headstones from the film. Good job!
I love this film! Thanks Jordan and Scott!
my friend, thanks so much for bringing us the info as to where filming took place..I
must've seen this movie..10/12 times..one great movie..
Great job matching up the old film images with the new landscape. That takes attention to detail 💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, they’ve built a beautiful home on the property the old farm house sat on. So lovely 😁👍🏽♥️♥️
I saw this as a kid on KTLA channel 5 in Los Angeles in the late 70's. It was terrifying ! The fact that it was in Black & White made it extra creepy. Classic film & the sequel was awesome as well.

I am going to the Pittsburgh area for living dead weekend this week. Going to the cemetery for the second time while I am there
OMG one of my all time favorite movies ! well done guys.... more more of you two
Wonder if any of the people involved in the making of the film, are actually buried in the cemetery? That would be cool to know.
Dick Heckard is my sister-in- law’s brother. Also the trees are gone because a tornado went through in 1995 took them all out.
Loved this movie. Was so scared when I first watched it as a kid
Loved watching,thank you!
My granddad told me he used to drive by the farmhouse every day on his way to work.
Love that movie, great job man- thank you !
Jordan you’re amazing. I have lived in PA 67 years and haven’t been to as many places as you have !!!! I am enjoying every one of them and you have inspired me to start getting around the sites in Pennsylvania!!!!
How far away was the cemetery and the farmhouse from each other?
my husband is a living dead fanatic, i’ve seen so many versions of this, lol
Fantastic!!! Thank you!!!
This is such a great video Jordan. I am enjoying the filming locations of this movie so much. This movie scared me to no end when I finally got to see it as a kid. George Romero inspired all of these zombie films we have today. Its amazing how he did everything on a shoe string budget
Don't forget John Russo who gets almost no credit but had a large hand in it's creation. Love you 💕
Most excellent vlog

No, it's kind of secluded, as far as restaurants or anything like that...
I'd rent a car... youll be miserable if you try to uber it all...
Ok, thanks! I love your videos by the way. They've been very helpful watches before my recent trips to Texas Chainsaw stuff & the Motown Museum!
@@DazewithJordantheLion I rented a car & am ever so glad I did! It was an awesome weekend & much easier to navigate. Not too spendy either!
Great job matching up film to locations! Loved it, thank you!
This movie freaked me out when I was a kid as well. LOL‼️
Masterpiece 👏🏼🔝🧟♀️
So happy you all got to finally visit this together. 😇
Great vlog, Jordan. NOTLD has been one of my favorite horror flicks since I was a kid, when I saw it on late night TV in the early 70s, and didn't get a minute's sleep that night.
The cellar is the safest place!!
I live in Butler not far from there.
Great video! You were only an hour south of me!
The 1980s remake return of the living dead is a fave
My shih tzu Dottie Jean beauty queen has your dogs bed! She LOVES IT!

Outdoors with the Morgan’s live just down from the cemetery

One of my favorite old B&W low budget horror films, along with House On Haunted Hill
I love the Tingler also
