My all-time favorite actor and human being. Every time we heard Jimmy recite his poem "Beau", also known as "I’ll Never Forget a Dog Named Beau" it tore our hearts out! Heaven gained a precious soul when Jimmy died. Thank you for this Gem of a video Jordan.
Jimmy was my all-time favorite actor as well and I will never forget his tribute to his dog Beau on the Johnny Carson show (at 14:00 in Jordan's video you can see a plaque on the wall for Beau). On the Tonight Show Jimmy recited a poem "to his dog named Beau". At first the poem was filled with lots of levity: "He never came to me when I would call Unless I had a tennis ball, Or he felt like it, But mostly he didn't come at all. When he was young He never learned to heel Or sit or stay, He did things his way. Discipline was not his bag But when you were with him things sure didn't drag. He'd dig up a rosebush just to spite me, And when I'd grab him, he'd turn and bite me. He bit lots of folks from day to day, The delivery boy was his favorite prey. The gas man wouldn't read our meter, He said we owned a real man-eater. He set the house on fire But the story's long to tell. Suffice it to say that he survived And the house survived as well" Of course at this point in the poem , Johnny, Ed and the audience were laughing along uproariously not knowing where the poem was headed. And then it hit.......... "We are early-to-bedders at our house -- I guess I'm the first to retire. And as I'd leave the room he'd look at me And get up from his place by the fire. He knew where the tennis balls were upstairs, And I'd give him one for a while. He would push it under the bed with his nose And I'd fish it out with a smile. And before very long He'd tire of the ball And be asleep in his corner In no time at all. And there were nights when I'd feel him Climb upon our bed And lie between us, And I'd pat his head. And there were nights when I'd feel this stare And I'd wake up and he'd be sitting there And I reach out my hand and stroke his hair. And sometimes I'd feel him sigh and I think I know the reason why. He would wake up at night And he would have this fear Of the dark, of life, of lots of things, And he'd be glad to have me near. And now he's dead. And there are nights when I think I feel him Climb upon our bed and lie between us, And I pat his head. And there are nights when I think I feel that stare And I reach out my hand to stroke his hair, But he's not there. Oh, how I wish that wasn't so, I'll always love a dog named Beau." Needless to say during the second part of the poem the studio went completely silent and by the time Jimmy said "I'll always love a dog name Beau" there was not a dry eye in the studio. You can watch Jimmy's tribute to Beau at this link (Kleenex recommend) ruclips.net/video/mwGnCIdHQH0/видео.html
@@kevinkeswick1243 I remember that program. I'm a lifelong animal lover and member of several animal charities. I've had dogs and cats, and they've all been rescues. I had tears welling in my eyes reading this poem. My two current cats were both rescued as kittens from the Atlanta Humane Society and are 15 years old now. They are snuggling with me now, one right next to me and the other on my lap. They follow me all over the house, they keep me company dozing on the bathroom rug while I take my bath. I thought when my children grew up and moved out, I could finally close the bathroom door...but that doesn't seem to be the case. 😉 They much prefer to sleep with me than in their pricey, fluffy "marshmallow" beds. When Tia is ready to go to sleep, she snuggles into the curve of my arm and uses my hand as her pillow. I've had many dogs through the years as well, strays that I picked up off the street or adopted through the Atlanta Humane Society. I just love animals, always have, and they seem to love me as I seem to be some kind of stray magnet. 😄 Thank you for publishing this endearing and heartfelt poem. I'm going to watch that video now.
Jimmy's favorite co-star was Pie, the horse he rode in 17 westerns. Their relationship was legendary. Tom Hanks talks about visiting Jimmy at his home and noticed the only movie memorabilia in the home was a painting of Pie. After he won the Oscar for "The Philadelphia Story" in 1941, the statuette was displayed at his father's hardware store.
I had the honor of meeting Jimmy Stewart in 1993. He was very kind to my mother and my self. I didnt want to bother him by asking for his autograph. He offered and I have kept his signature in a very safe place. My all time favorite movie is It's a wonderful life ❤ Great vlog Jordan thank you.
One of my Favorites ! The GLENN MILLER STORY is probably one of my Favorite movies. Jimmy and June Allyson were great together in the movie. Loved all of his films. Great Vlog, Jordan !
The horse you saw in the photo/painting in Jimmy Stewart's office...was "Pie" the red sorrel horse that he rode in 17 of his western movies....a time span of quite a few years..."Pie" passed away in 1970 and was buried on Stewart's California ranch....Stewart always said he was a great movie horse...easy to ride and even took cues from the trainer...one of "Pie's" last movies was 1968's Bandolero with Stewart, Dean Martin and Raquel Welch....a great western 🤠
Hi Jordan probably the greatest actor and American this country has produced! A true legend !!!! A credit his outstanding roles are endless !! Ty loved it
Anyone that’s a huge Jimmy Stewart fan, as I am, should go to RUclips and look up the poem he read on Johnny Carson about his dog Beau. No one could’ve done such a tender and heartwarming read of the poem better than Jimmy Stewart. It was very touching and well worth seeing. You’ll never forget it.
Jimmy Stewart is my favorite "old Hollywood" actor. He was an absolute genius as you said in your vlog. When he was on the screen, you couldn't take your eyes off him. Marilyn Monroe was probably the female equivalent in that regard. That was one hell of a museum and tribute to Jimmy. You could tell they put a lot of love and respect into it. This is one of your best vlogs thus far. 👏👍❤
Cary Grant, Bob Hope and Jimmy Stewart. Classic Hollywood. Jimmy should have won his Best Actor Oscar for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington the year before. Great performance. Unfortunately a movie named Gone With the Wind got in his way that year.
Jimmy Stewart has always been by far one of my favorite actors, along with John Wayne. I have watched many, many of his movies and love them all. There was something about his personality that would draw you in. His stammer in his voice was part of the charm. If anyone has not seen "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" I would highly recommend it. I would def. like to visit this museum. Very cool Jordan!
Great video!! The one thing I like so much and appreciate about your videos is you take your time and you let us look at and enjoy what it is you’re showing us. You don’t hurry through. And what I also appreciate is how you take the time to read the plaques. There’s so much information on them and most people don’t take the time to read them but I’ve always enjoyed them. Thank you for all you do and the opportunity for us to see things that we might not get to..
I loved Jimmy Stewart. I remember him best in the movie Spirit of St Louis. I have roots in this town. My 4 times great grandfather lived and is buried there in Memorial park. I was surprised to see in John Wayne's and Jimmies lineage that their ancestors came from Antrim Ireland which is where my ancestor came from! I wonder if they all knew each other.?
I'm From Indiana, County Pennsylvania, It's a True Honor to have been born and raised in The exact same Town as Actor James Stewart. Thank You Jordan for taking back to my Hometown.
Thank you, Jordan for this wonderful vlog on Jimmy Stewart. Never knew about his life growing up and everything outside of watching his movies. He’s one of my top favorite actors from the years of old Hollywood. Love learning new things everyday. He was all American, patriot among many great things. Super enjoyed the museum and seeing his childhood home. He and the other actors who fought in WWII are real American heroes. Love learning new things from you . Had no idea that there is a nice town in PA named Indiana. Loving all the travel vlogs you do. You are doing a wonderful job decorating and getting your home in Jordan shape. You have great tastes and ideas of how you want your home to look on the inside and outside. God bless you for all you do in every part of your life. Love you and Jah. ❤️
He was both a fantastic actor and a wonderful human being. I don't think that there was anyone out there who didn't like him. Such a fabulous museum. Thank you.
awesome vlog tour James Stewart memorabilia his home town; I luv all his movies, my fav is Bell Book and Candle he is bewitched to fall in love with Gillian
Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor. He was so amazing in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington especially the part when he’s at the Lincoln Memorial and he’s so discouraged from the politics of Washington. Such a great actor and a nice man. The museum looks amazing! Thanks for vlogging it. Another great video.
I've been to that museum. It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours. He was a remarkable man. Dad put his Oscar in the window of the hardware store. After the war, he flew his plane back to Indiana, PA by himself using railroad tracks as a guide. His sister had quite a career as a nurse. I think it's sad though that none of the houses he lived in are still around. The house in Indiana was torn down as was his house in Beverly Hills which was across the street from Lucille Ball.
Actually, Jimmy's childhood home still stands on North 7th Street in Indiana. The house where he was born, on Philadelphia Street, was torn down long ago. His childhood home is privately owned now.
Hi Jordan, what a brilliant Museum, that giant rabbit by the lamp post made me smile. I think an actor of his stature deserves such a Museum. Great to see his original costumes and Awards, his family really do deserve a big thank you for donating all those items. I love that they have his booth from Chasen's, that iconic place has gone, but another piece saved. They don't make actor's like him anymore. Great vlog Jordan.
Jordan thanks for making this video. I didn’t know so much about James Stewart till you posted this video. On the different note, thanks for making the camera close to eye level! I think i like it better in the angle 👍🏼😊
Rich Little actually did some Jimmy Stewart voice overs for the street crossings in Indiana PA but if my memory serves me correctly it's since been removed!
the Jimmy Stewart Museum is wonderful! who'd have thought all those genuine artifacts would be gathered in one place. your vlog ideas are fantastic...keep bringing us this awesome content, please!! every day it's a new adventure, and i love it!! :)
I got so excited about this, I have wanted to visit here for the last couple of years. Love Jimmy so much, a great actor & a military man (brigadier general?). So excited to watch!!! 🌼
Wonderful vlog about a dear man who was a wonderful actor. He did so many great movies but I have to say my top of all he did was reading his touching poem about his dog Beau on the Tonight Show. I loved his movies but that segment on the show has stuck with me all these years. So very sweet and showed his gentle and loving nature.
What a wonderful tribute to Jimmy. One of Hollywood most charismatic iconic legends of all time . With those debonair good looks , and the voice that makes heads turn .You can see why Hollywood wanted him . For he was born to be a star⭐.
Jordan thank you for the fabulous trip to the Jimmy Stewart Museum, we enjoy this video so much, Jimmy Stewart is one of Mary's favorite actors. All the movies you mentioned we have watched so so many times. He was such a great actor and wonderful person. He accomplished to much in is life time. So so many people loved him. Thank you so much for this wonderful video on this great actor Jimmy Stewart
This was really great to see! I have been a fan for over 20 years but I’ve never had a chance to visit… Your video really gave a good perspective on the layout of everything. Plus I can tell you are a true fan because the first movie that came to mind was Philadelphia Story!
Great video Jordan, The town looked really nice. Jimmy Stewart was a very handsome and graceful man. Lovely looking museum jammed packed with treasures, his house looks stunning. Thank you for sharing Jordan
During the early 90s I drove to the museum on three separate occasions from Philadelphia Pa. it takes five hours one way not sure sure I can do that drive anymore all in one day…lol…when Jimmy won the Academy award…Jimmy’s dad called him and told him to send the statue to him and he would display it in the store window and that’s where it stayed for many year’s. Couple years ago I finally found that issue of Life magazine in an antique store…the one with Jimmy on the cover…that made my day take care…peace.
Thank you for showing this!! I am a big fan of Jimmy Stewart! I'm unable to go anywhere and this is the only way I can see my favorite things. You are the best!!
Thank you for this vlog. Love Jimmy Stewart, he's my favorite actor. Watched Harvey and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington numerous times as a kid and always loved his movies. Thank you for sharing all this info on him.
Thank you so much for sharing the museum with us because I've always wanted to go to that museum I looked here in Pennsylvania my whole life I'm not far from there but I just never was able to get there so I appreciate that you shared it with us hope you have a great day. I grew up watching The Wonderful Life in his movies and I'm going to be 46 in September
This has to be on my tops of videos. It really is hard to pick a favorite but what a treasure of a museum. Jordan your wonderful energy is wonderful. Thank you so very much for all these wonderful tasteful videos.
Hello Jordan! I realized after your video was over that I had been smiling the entire time. That's what Jimmy Stewart meant to me.- all that is good in a person and where talent, hard work and determination and good morals and genuine kindness of spirit can take you. I didn't know this museum existed but now I would love to save up and go there. I especially like the "Harvey" memories. I did a production of it years ago and always thought of Jimmy when we performed it. Thank you so much Jordan for finding this wonderful trip through Jimmy Stewart's life. Have a lovely day, my friend. Blessings-Judith 🎭🎵
Very cool leather directory chair. Wow Jimmy and John were related by marraige. How cool is that. Loved them both. Outstanding actors the both of them. Lovely vlog, Jordan. Thank you so much!! He was very deserving to have his name put on objects!
What a fantastic museum! I’m so glad his family allowed so many family items to be placed there. He was just a VERY special actor. Apparently he was a special person as well. I like watching him and Gloria on the ol Jack Benny show. They seemed to fit perfectly together. Thanks Jordan, I appreciate you sharing this with us.
I came back to rewatch this because I wanted to. I still Love Jimmy Stewart. Good video. I always rewatch the things I love.👍💯❤. Thanks Jordan.✌. Love, respect and positivity always 🧘♀️🤸♀️🙌🦋🌠🌞👋. Neita james. 😁🌻🌷🌈🌌🌟.
The museum was extremely kind! They generally don't allow video, but did for me to share this and help let people know how great the museum is. They are extremely knowledgeable about his whole life, and have an extremely well displayed collection.
Jordan sorry late watching latest vlogs had heart procedure Jimmy Stewart what a legend great actor & i learned things i didn't know about him so again Jordan
My father grew up outside of Indiana, Pa. and I still have cousins in town. Great Place. I spent many late nights with my dad watching the greatest western ever made The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, my dad always got excited at the scene when Jimmy Stewart knocked John Wayne on his ass.
I couldn't have said it better myself!
Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor too. Every film I saw him in was great, but my favorite was Its a Wonderful Life.
Yes I remember him talking about his dog named Beau and the poem it totally melted my heart.

Great stuff . Mr Stewart was a gift from God . He indeed had a wonderful life and brought joy to many .

Jordan, really appreciate this one! I am a huge huge Jimmy Stewart fan, you made my Tuesday entirely 😍❤️Watching from New Zealand with love ❤️

What a fantastic museum! I’m so glad his family allowed so many family items to be placed there. He was just a VERY special actor. Apparently he was a special person as well. The museum was extremely kind! They generally don't allow video, but did for me to share this and help let people know how great the museum is. They are extremely knowledgeable about his whole life, and have an extremely well displayed collection.
