Thank you. My son is autistic and I’m proud to be his father. Lil dude caught a couple sturgeon and tons of stripers throughout the years. Hope to get one on video
I’m using blood worms. Bought at local bait shops around Sacramento. The specific bait shop is called Ghost bait & tackle. Call ahead of time to confirm if there are any worms available
When you see videos of fishermen’s using big surf rods, that’s because they are throwing further out with heavy weights in that 6-10 oz range. I prefer a smaller rod that is 8-9’ length med-heavy action. Rod should be able to handle up to a 4oz weight. Reel should be able to hold at least a 17 lb test line (monofilament). Cast out 20-30’ and adjust weight size so the current does not take it to the bank 😅. Need to be in that strike zone
@@FishingWithAlexS appreciate it man I was just out there in Sacramento River but couldn’t catch anything not sure what bait to use or recommend but I’ll give this a try !
@@ohxtony_69 depends on the location and if you can keep your bait in the strike zone with enough weight. Stripers are close to the bank hugging that 10-20’ range and in water as shallow as 5’
😳 did you say your brother's place?! Sheeeesh.. lol. Man i went out yesterday too. Think cause of the rain and cold temp, fish weren't biting. 2 nibbles that's it. Must've been a big frog🤣. That fish look fire. I noticed you got the thunnus. I just ordered one yesterday. I don't know what to pair it with. It's the 6000. Saw Tony sold his phenix cicadas. What rods you using😂. Not that I'm gonna get the same one.
My uncle’s place but the rain messed up the bite for sure. I paired the thunnus with the power stick from bass pro shop. Cheaper rod but match the color ($130). Tons of bullfrogs out here 😂
Hey, nephew, where's the Thai chili pepper? Gotta have that. Next time add Sprinkle some laab seasoning & rub it all into the suits & inside cavity. Good job!
Same here. I usually see them with parasites around the hotter months. A bit concerning and I’m wondering if the nasty bum creeks that runs through the city is causing it. The rain did flush those areas out into the sac river 🤮
nice catch and cook bro. great video!
Appreciate it! Thank you 🙏
loved the video but the ending with your son got me to subscribe. Proud dad moment!

What rod and reel setup do you suggest for Sac stripers?

@@FishingWithAlexS this explains a lot. Thank you!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I don’t mind it at all
After eating that the frogs comes out and play lol
Too many frogs 😂
What bait do you use ?
Blood worms ($28 a dozen). Night crawlers and sardines will work too but I haven’t made a video on it yet

@stixxxrixx already have that in the seasoning mix with a lot of dry peppers. My son can’t eat if it’s too spicy

Live caught over 10+ keepers this season and they all have some parasites. Not sure why. Last season didn’t have any for me.
