      Bob sanders and SugarGamingTY 234, every country produces pollution. Don't forget China and India have such bad pollution because they are manufacturing products that will be shipped primarily to the U.S. Their pollution will inevitably effect everyone and contribute to climate change.

      yeah, from what I remember reading a month or so ago China has actually switched from being one of the most polluted places on the planet to being the greenest. Is it still perfect? No. But its a sharp drastic change from where it was.
      If only India would get on the same bandwagon. Perhaps when alternate forms of transportation become available that use magnetic pull instead of fuel we might stand a chance.

      Learn more dude. The largest industry in India is tertiary industry, but India is still far more polluted than China who has the largest secondary industry. The deserts in China are gradually being reduced and the natural water storage is being restored at a relatively high rate and the vegetation coverage is increasing year by year.

      the guy in the video says its diesel fuel thats doing most of this but thats not entirely true, around this time in india, the farmers burn the leftover waste from farming wheat over the winter season, this produces a lot of soot/smoke which mixes with the fog and makes smog. that is what you see in the video, if that much smoke was being produces by diesel engines it would almost be catastrophic for the region. this doesnt only affect india tho, the smog rolls over to pakistan and rolls further into india, but not south india as those regions are too far and dont produce a lot of wheat. this doesnt happen in summer because they dont farm wheat in the summer.

    India is a large country and that's the pollution in Delhi. Not India's air. Also, when you said "you can you see pollution" because that's Smog. Don't act like Americans don't know what smog is. There are Visible and Invisible Pollutants. The pollution in Delhi is caused by the crop burning by the farmers in farmlands surrounding the city. This mixed with the dust from construction and fog is
    creating this smog in winter. It is a visible pollutant and it will only affect the people in the affected area and don't contribute much to the global air pollution. Invisible Pollutants like Nitrogen dioxide, Carbon-di oxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur oxides are worse than this. And USA is one of the biggest producers of this. Just because they are invisible doesn't mean that it's not a problem.
    See the map from European Space agency: esamultimedia.esa.int/images/EarthObservation/pollution_global_hires.jpg

    • @98ma
      @98ma 6 лет назад +8

      is there some invisible barrier surrounding Delhi? obviously it has a global effect
      PS: Your source is so bad.
      1. it's from Wikipedia
      2. it's from 2011
      3. not specific enough, what they mean by "air pollution"
      This tells me that you don't know what is a reliable resource and I cannot trust your opinion.

    • @BinoyJS
      @BinoyJS 6 лет назад +4

      Masan
      1: You clearly don't know how to use Wikipedia. Wikipedia is reliable if it cite a reliable source. The above map is made from data collected from European Space Agency. And the map is about Invisible Pollutants like nitrogen dioxide. Here is the actual map from ESA: esamultimedia.esa.int/images/EarthObservation/pollution_global_hires.jpg
      2: As I said before, Delhi's air pollution is mainly particulate matters (PM2.5), which is common in hot dry areas and in sandy dessert areas. It is small particles (dust) thrown into the atmosphere. In Delhi, before winter, farmers around Delhi burn their crops and small particles fly into the atmosphere. This is so bad for the health as it can cause lung diseases. But it do not contribute much to global problems like Global warming. ie, if they stop crop burning, the air will get clear within a few years as dust will settle. But you cannot revere the pollution done by invisible pollutants.
      3: This News Media is not "specific enough" that this is only about a City in India and not the entire country and they are talking about the particulate matter pollution and not about pollutants like nitrogen oxides or carbon oxides. They just said "India’s Toxic Air". The correct title would be "Delhi's Toxic air".
      And if you don't like European Space agency's map, Here is NASA's nitrogen dioxide map. www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/thumbnails/image/15-233-global.jpg
      Here is the levels of Carbon di oxide: www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/styles/full_width_feature/public/thumbnails/image/mainco2mappia18934.jpg

      If they seal in too well, they need O2 supply and CO2 scrubber.
      I know that the CO2 scrubbers go for a nice low price of at least several grand USD.
      A HEPA filter is cheaper, but still impractical for anyone that doesn't have several hundred lying around, plus a few hundred more for all the filter replacements they're going to need.

      Tanpreet Singh If the condition is as bad as in India than I would consider it, I mean what option is left, the government couls at least offer people electric cars or other transportation methods. I mean its a drastic meassure but we have the health of millions of people on the line.

    • @tanpreetsingh551
      @tanpreetsingh551 6 лет назад

      OP PAI I agree the condition is worst here but from a local perspective I'd say the public transportation system is okay especially Delhi metro but it's already overcrowded right now and other public transport are not enough yet for smoother transportation experience. So banning personal vehicles on weekends would cause chaos here for sure. I think govt should plant more trees, focus on making India electric especially cars and toughen up the rules for manufacturing industry to go green and not produce waste and pollution and alot of other ways Aswell to fight the pollution and I am pretty sure our govt could change the situation here if they want to Aswell but I think because of corruption and other factors it's not happening ASAP.

      No. Packs.
      Packs.
      Every day of their lives, every day, every single second they breathe this without a break.
      How do they survive? U won't die either from smoking that much, your life expectancy would be shortened by alot and u would be a little adapted like we are
      Children are usually more sensitive than adults in these cases
      What can we do? Move out? Do u know what a developing country means? If the usa can't pay their rent and is a developed country imagine a country that earns 100 times less on average? What do we do if our kids breathe it? Do a perpetual lockdown as that's all we can do with our money? What do we do with their life then?

    I was born and raised in the united states and I have been fortunate to enjoy a life with almost no pollution. I went to india for the first time ever in 2017 and OMG as soon as I got off the plane, by head started hurting. We landed in New Delhi. My headache didn't go away untill we got back on the plane and officially left the country and started flying over international waters. If you are thinking of travelling to India, be careful as the pollution will be a constant bother for your head and lungs. Aside from that, it's still a very beautiful country and the people are nice. Food taste good as well...if you like spicy stuff :-). People say to go in November and December, however the air is actually most polluted at that time, because Farmers like to set off fireworks for Diwali, which creates more smog in the air. Best time is early September, when monsoon season has JUST ended and the skys are clear.

We admit our capital city and few other major cities are badly polluted because people tend to move there increasing the population of such cities. DIngbat donedon it's not that south India is less polluted. It's just we have more big cities to spread out the population. For many states in the North, Delhi is the only where opportunities are plentiful leading to insane population growth. People from Bihar, UP, Punjab, Jharkhand, North East, Uttaranchal, Uttarakhand, MP all come and crowd up Delhi. In the south in addition to many big metro cities, there's a language barrier which acts as a hindrance for immigrants among the southern states as well as those coming from the North. The results is lower pollution levels.

    Traffic and diesel are used across the world, but the reason for the pollution in delhi is the cold winds converge here, Punjab farmers burning their farm waste and the wind drifts towards Delhi that is the main reason and then the pollution that is caused within delhi obviously adds to it. But the situation will be much better if Punjab and Haryana farmers were banned from burning their farm waste and some other way to clear our the farms after harvest can be devised.

    People just need to stop having so many children. One or two maybe even three sure. But having like 7+ children really has a big impact on a heavy populated area

    I could taste sulphur in the air where I lived in Canada. Waste prod. From nickel refinery. I worked in a running shoe factory and for the first week I had a constant headache. After that, I guess the brain cells were dead no more headache. I don’t know if that’s what happened but most probably I’m right.
