Yep :) There's 2 servers depending on who and what you were for. SWGEmu and SWGLegends. This game was the first truly large-scale multiplayer experience of my life as a 13/14 year old (at launch, I'm 31 now). Its hard to express the impact my countless hours on SWG had on my life. Some of my closest friends to this day I met running missions out of the Dantooine Mining Outpost.
I couldn't agree with you more. I played Lowca server back in the day and enjoyed the Crafting and mining so much. Hanging out at Cantina's before raids and exploring the depths of all the open worlds had to offer. Enjoying the lore and story of Star wars. Pure Bliss. This game had a huge impact on my life and it makes me so sad to this very day that I can't relive that joy and friendship I had back then. I'm 52 now and I fear I will never have this kind of joy in my life ever again.
Well said. Could not agree more. It was my first large open world MMO as well. From triple ace-ing all three pilot factions, to the amazing crafting system with all of the intricate min maxing of the starship components, creature handling and droid crafting, to the insane amount of imp vs reb pvp battles that made my screen look like a slideshow at 10fps, to the bols, crickets, and jedi grind like someone mentioned already lol. Such great times with the community as well. Great times on Corbantis server
I still think about this game. I miss it. I know there are private servers, but it just isn't the same as back in the time period I played this game + having a large population of players.
No MMO will ever come close to this game, I spent so much time in this doing RP and space combat. The community was amazing. So many feels right now. If this came back not the emu, I would play the shit out of it.

@@moochannel523 Well hey there's a couple private servers out there now lol. They are fun to try out and there are still a decent amount of people playing the main ones. Nothing like the live servers back in the day, but the game still lives on in its own way.
@@hajsh67 I made it to padawan few years ago on swgemu server, haven't played since. It's not the samee anymore when you're 33 haha. Finalixer population is only 200 atm, it's dead soon again.
@@moochannel523 Yeah I feel you. I'm in the same boat. 33 as well and I played a couple of the private servers (emu and legends) but dropped it a while ago. There are still a decent chunk of hardcore devoted players there, but it's a ghost town compared to what it was on live servers back in the day. I've been toying around with the idea of going back one day soon just to mess with the jump to lightspeed space content again. Space was never too crowded and I never got good at space pvp anyway lol. Last time I played legends I found a few people who were grinding up the same space faction on the discord and we ran a bunch of those grindy duty missions together.
Ahhh Star Wars Galaxies, I will never forget you. Endless hours of pleasure. The memories I will cherish forever. How many good friends I have made there. I hope that a day comes, when a new Star Wars MMORPG like this one surfaces and where we can all reunite.
I don’t care what anybody says, this was the best Star Wars game ever made, for me. To think they did that with no Jedi at the beginning is amazing, it really felt like you were living in the Star Wars Galaxy. I was an Imperial Master Doctor in Bria. Saved many lives as a master doctor, it paid well. Having Master Pistoleer traits helped in back alley shootouts with Rebellion mercenaries. To think this all functioned without handholding or even rules was amazing. It totally felt real. I’ll miss SWG.
2:01 hearing this gives me Goosebumps. It always played when I logged into to a character on Tat. I played vanilla at a time when I understood very little about MMO mechanics, endgame meant nothing to me, before the holocron grind. I'd just quest around small towns on Tat for months and be totally happy. Naivety that can never be recaptured.
THe game of my life, without any doubt. Thank you for uploading this. Brings back so many memories, good times. How I miss this game. One server up for free was too much SOE?
The closing of SWG wasn't Sony's fault. LucasArts did not renew their license to the Star Wars IP around the release of SWTOR, so they were legally forced to shut down.
+vincentpol It's just not the same.... Too few people... And my Elder Jedi is gone... a part of me is gone... Just like I know a part of all of you is lost as well.
+Iffy Samcasm The population and community is what made it so good. I am also a pre pub 9 Jedi. So the village is too much of a shortcut. Also the player run towns with automated vendors. The scripts people ran. So clever. It will never be the same again.
The starting music... is what makes SW epic to me. It brings the thoughts of an epic adventure unlike any other. And SWG... I miss you, forever in my heart of epic gameplay.
I got such a big lump in my throat listening to this. This game was a huge part of my early teens and my first experience with MMOs. So many incredible memories.
After playing the SWG EMU I figured out something I miss ... the noobs. I miss people creating groups to go clear the Squill cave on tatooine or hunting groups on dantooine. Most people solo now with op buffs because that is way more effective.
Think the CU or NGE made the Squill caves easier... basically whenever SOE decided to 'level' the planets/mobs on planets and thus Tatooine became 'starter' planet where the best players could solo pretty much anything. But yes I remember back in the day pre-CU when Squill cave groups were formed and it was a proper adventure, good times... gooood times.
For so long I have avoided coming back to SWG videos as I know the friends I made, the places I visited, the experiences I had are no longer there. No game will ever compare to the beauty of this and it helped me, a struggling teenager, so much at the time. I miss my home in Mos Tarkinas, my best friend who'd always accompany me to the Squill Caves or help me fight Rancors on Dathomir. Damn, those were some great times.
Have no idea mate. I mean I reside in the UK, but I am a Kiwi, well I am only supportive of NZL when the All-Blacks play, haha, nothing else. The game is as I remember it. The community is amazing as well, I mean truly amazing. Proper gamers, all ages, actually having fun. The way it should be.
No probs, if you are looking for a guild, we are rebuilding -WHO- guild who were once one of the games powerhouse guilds back when Sony SOE ran it. Amazing that a few people kept -WHO- running after 5 years since its prolific leader was banned due to massive corruption, haha, all good fun days. Man this shit brings tears to my eyes, such great memories. Epic pvp battles from 1v1 in the middle of nowhere to 50v50 madness. And being hunted constantly by bounty hunters, sometimes 2 and 3 together. Love that game
God i miss this game. Sometimes it really hurts. I vote for a redesigned SWG with reworked combat (not CU) and Battlefront 2 graphics. My heart would sing of joy if this ever happened. ^^ 22:12 is my personal favorite. I loved the dawn of a new day and this used to play at that point.
Klezzy Hey, as long as you have the original game, check out a few of the more popular emulator projects like SWGEmu or ProjectSWG. They're both bringing back SWG legally! :) SWGEmu.com www.projectswg.com/
Cody Hatten I found out about it 2 days after the comment, I now have a stormtrooper full set and 2 homes but thanks for recommending it and projectswg is kinda broken for me nothing loads no missions and etc
Klezzy Ahh I hear ya! I play on both, I love SWGEmu with how far they've gotten. ProjectSWG is doing pretty well too lately. They threw out their old code and have started brand new coding, ensuring that it's not buggy in the slightest. So they''re definitely different than they were 6 months ago lol
Why hasn't ANYONE ever posted the Naboo Sunrise music? That to me was the best piece of all the music. Every time I heard I truly felt that I was in the Stars Wars galaxies.
*sigh* I miss this game so much. I haven't checked out SWGemu in a long time. I guess I should take a peek and see how it's progressed. No other MMO in history has captured me like this game did. The original EQ was close, but that's also because it was my first.
For those that miss swg, look up SWG Legends. I have some sort of bug preventing me from logging in but you should be able to play just fine. it's exactly the game you remember! (NGE)
Oh my Emperor... the first song... I almost died of nostalgia. :'( Why did it have to end? *cries* Yes... I know about the emulators. It's just not the same. I lost everything! :'(
I know how you feel m8, but the state of the emulators today is near perfect, I suggest you grab a few friends and go on one hell of a nostalgia trip, trust me, it's completely worth it.
I can never recreate what I once had. My character and his outfit and personal story, my ships and their interior decorations, my house and the many hours I put into making it look awesome and unique, or the people I used to play with. Because none of this can be regained I won't bother with the emulators. I prefer to hold on to the excellent memories I already have. :)
To this day no MMORPG let alone game has taken this away from my #1 spot for Original Release of SWG pre cu publish 9 era. This game gave me my love for mmo genre let alone fullfilled my Star Wars fandom inside me. The community the player base nothing ever compares and its hard to describe to someone who never got to experience it. My first time logging in on release week I came into Moenia on Naboo and started walking around to see a player running into town being chased by a rancor and what did I do I started running away as well only to find it was his pet as a Creature Handler. Good Times.
Has there been a game with such production focused on the soundtrack? What makes this one so special is that you would hardly ever focus on it as it meshed so well in its area . That was one thing that made this game so memorable.
God this was hard to listen to without tears welling up. Best times and best gaming friends of my life from launch to the end of the CU. Simply couldnt do the nge thing - wasnt even close to being the same game. I miss you so much all my fellow Bria server friends. The force will be with you all forever , one day , we will all meet again in a different life.
Thanks for the songs man. SWG is alive and well everyone! SWG legends for nge, SWGemu for precu or SWG sentinels republic for an altered precu experience with new planets and species!
Going to Rori, the moon of Naboo. Meeting other people there because we all disliked populated planets. Then creating one of the biggest cities on Rori. Massive amounts of shops. Protecting Jedi friends who were training. A huge cantina that had people there 24/7. 10,000 clicks north of Narmle and 10,000 clicks west of Restuss. My character name was Bleex back then. Lived by the Naboo waterfall originally.
Words cannot express the feel of loss when this game ended. This was my alternate life. Joy and pain I feel as I listen to this nostalgic soundtrack! SWG forever!
Will never forget the glory days of PRE-CU SWG. This music brings me all the feels back. Had an awesome community that really wanted to help you start and get along. Aisov Abiwe / / EU-Chimaera
I swear, it's like I can see it as I listen to the music. I can see the spaceport on Tatooine and the constant mob in front of it. The trade hub on Corellia. The beautiful landscapes of Naboo. The forest on Kashyyyk. All of it, like it was yesterday.
Great compilation, and thanks for the shout-out in the description! I'm glad you liked the names for the songs, haha. I totally made those up as I went. The actual track names on the game files were like...mus_tat_01 and stuff.
If we could just get track 1 on a loop, that'd be awesome! The music involved in this game was and is still the best. Would play SWG again in a heartbeat if it was unchanged!
"Pastel Sunsets" is one of my favs. The soundtrack in this game really was something special. Really sets the mood of the game. Pre-Cu Kauri/Bria player here. I'm still supporting the SWGemu team and I suggest everyone else who isn't to do so if you miss the game. Something I've been following for a while now. It's good to be able to go back and play again.
Shawkorrr from Wanderhome here. I will always remember Star Wars Galaxies. Proud member of the "SancTuarY of Wanderhome" guild since Friday 18th March 2005 08:05:35.
Oh my gosh...so much memories. I miss this time so much. Especially the beginning 2003. Everything was new. So much to discover. I miss the dragon lizard hunting partys with pets and AT-ST's on Dantooine
My first MMO...Flurry server. I met one of my best friends there and we gamed for almost 20 years. He passed away a few months ago. What I wouldn't give to be back in 2003, going on adventures together.
This weekend I found the original box of the game on my attic with the limited dual side poster of galaxies. I played from dec 2003 until they pulled the plug (with some breaks). Best mmo experience I ever had.
Holy crap I miss this game. I just want to cry that they haven't made another like it in 20 years. I miss you Zaphite (the white wookie) my best friend who I lost contact with after shutdown. I also miss Hsiri and hsitocs, Laprun and all my old pals from Lowca. God bless and God jump to lightspeed my friends :)
There will never be a game, experience or community like SWG...it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Still I hold this game close to my heart.
I miss this game so very much. Pre-CU SWG is the best game I’ve ever played. So many memories made in this game. Man…. I really wish we had this game back in its original state.
People say SWGEmu and ProjectSWG, but those two will never come close to comparing to SWG itself. I know, samething, same game, but its still a clone of IMO greatest MMO ever created, and it just doesnt have the same feel. 10 yrs later I still miss this game.
They are both incomplete versions of the game. I played them for a while but nothing compares to the magic of the original SWG. I remember dropping in tatooine spaceport on day one, not knowing what the hell to do. A guy was just standing out there and spent hours helping me along. Joined his guild and stuck with them for years until I stopped playing. You don't see that happen in many MMO's anymore. They all have their daily quests or other incentives for ignoring their community in game, except for objectives that require big groups.
The destruction of this game was a tragedy, 2016 and I still have a hole in my heart that never will be filled.
You can actually still play it on The SWGEMU.
info link?
You don't exactly need a link. Just type in SWGEmu in your search engine and it'll probably be the first response.

***** i was in that same guild it was on shadowfire wasnt it?
Dream still lives in the EMU!!
Pour one out for my homies on Starsider. DAMN THE NGE.
Oh my Emperor... the first song... I almost died of nostalgia. :'( Why did it have to end? *cries*
Yes... I know about the emulators. It's just not the same. I lost everything! :'(
i understand u so much dude
same :/
I know how you feel m8, but the state of the emulators today is near perfect, I suggest you grab a few friends and go on one hell of a nostalgia trip, trust me, it's completely worth it.
Don't you lose everything on server restart?
Wow..SO many memories came flooding back as I listened!
I miss this game so much, damn CU and NGE, especially NGE!
So... get back! :-) You can play Star Wars Galaxies, pre-CU, on SWGEmu (.com) server (Basilisk), 100% free!!!
Rip starsider. Never forget ._.
That was my server too. and to me, PRE-CU was the best!
I think you mean Ahazi
Starsider in the house
Wow, that is awesome. I got to track 4 and I got a tear in my eye. So many happy memories. Here's to you Snowlove, where ever you are. :)
Wish I had the opportunity to play this back in it’s prime days
To this day no MMORPG let alone game has taken this away from my #1 spot for Original Release of SWG pre cu publish 9 era. This game gave me my love for mmo genre let alone fullfilled my Star Wars fandom inside me. The community the player base nothing ever compares and its hard to describe to someone who never got to experience it. My first time logging in on release week I came into Moenia on Naboo and started walking around to see a player running into town being chased by a rancor and what did I do I started running away as well only to find it was his pet as a Creature Handler. Good Times.
ty 4 this. tears dont = enough pleasure
Has there been a game with such production focused on the soundtrack? What makes this one so special is that you would hardly ever focus on it as it meshed so well in its area . That was one thing that made this game so memorable.
only game i ever just left the ost playing in the backgroumd
I used to do that as well. Just let it play while doing things amongst the house 😊😊😊 Great memories!
So... get back! :-) You can play Star Wars Galaxies, pre-CU, on SWGEmu (.com) server (Basilisk), 100% free!!!
"Nym's Property" =Nostalgia overload!
15:10 is money...come and join me in game. Live the nostalgia on SWGEmu and stop dreaming already
Perfect background music for our May the Fourth be with You party! Thank you!
Thanks for the songs man. SWG is alive and well everyone! SWG legends for nge, SWGemu for precu or SWG sentinels republic for an altered precu experience with new planets and species!
Brings back lots of memories of playing the game for along time, then the NGE hit ... a sad time for all of us
This game will live in my heart and soul forever ❤
Going to Rori, the moon of Naboo. Meeting other people there because we all disliked populated planets. Then creating one of the biggest cities on Rori. Massive amounts of shops. Protecting Jedi friends who were training. A huge cantina that had people there 24/7. 10,000 clicks north of Narmle and 10,000 clicks west of Restuss. My character name was Bleex back then. Lived by the Naboo waterfall originally.
Oh yeah, Naboo waterfall was the prime real-estate.
Damn that music really brings back so many good memories.
Words cannot express the feel of loss when this game ended. This was my alternate life. Joy and pain I feel as I listen to this nostalgic soundtrack! SWG forever!
Cheers from Ahazi. Many years out and I still remember the good times in this game with friends I'll never see again.
Also from Ahazi. Was part of a small guild called Black Suns Militia or something like that before the NGE hit and everything fell apart lol.
Will never forget the glory days of PRE-CU SWG. This music brings me all the feels back. Had an awesome community that really wanted to help you start and get along.
Aisov Abiwe / / EU-Chimaera
Kaalo SWGEMU.com pre cu goodness
I swear, it's like I can see it as I listen to the music. I can see the spaceport on Tatooine and the constant mob in front of it. The trade hub on Corellia. The beautiful landscapes of Naboo. The forest on Kashyyyk. All of it, like it was yesterday.
RIP my love...
Great compilation, and thanks for the shout-out in the description!
I'm glad you liked the names for the songs, haha. I totally made those up as I went. The actual track names on the game files were like...mus_tat_01 and stuff.
I've been coming back to this same video year after year. SWG - gone but not forgotten ;(
If we could just get track 1 on a loop, that'd be awesome! The music involved in this game was and is still the best. Would play SWG again in a heartbeat if it was unchanged!
Yeah if they could get the graphics to today's standards and yet keep the game play the same that'd be heaven sent
SWG and Minecraft were the happiest gaming experiences of my life. What an achievement this was.
I miss running out for miles checking on my field of harvesters. RIP
Shadowfire RIP. Never forget.
Shadowfire was the best and only server i stayed on untell the end:/
Me as well!
Scylla.
2020, still feeling the pain. It never stops.
Wanderhome represent.
My birthplace! Until moving to Shadowfire when they compressed the servers.
'salute'
This game was life. When it died it felt like a part of me died too... Now I'm stuck in the nightmare that is TOR...
in the year 2020, Star wars galaxies is still, by far the best MMORPG I have ever played and actually kept music ingame on.
Shawkorrr from Wanderhome here. I will always remember Star Wars Galaxies.
Proud member of the "SancTuarY of Wanderhome" guild since Friday 18th March 2005 08:05:35.
/logs into SWG Legends to help keep the game alive
first MMO I ever played. still miss it
This still hurts
Best MMO ever
Oh my gosh...so much memories. I miss this time so much. Especially the beginning 2003. Everything was new. So much to discover. I miss the dragon lizard hunting partys with pets and AT-ST's on Dantooine
gets very nostalgic, then very scary, then calming
My first MMO...Flurry server. I met one of my best friends there and we gamed for almost 20 years. He passed away a few months ago. What I wouldn't give to be back in 2003, going on adventures together.
This weekend I found the original box of the game on my attic with the limited dual side poster of galaxies.
I played from dec 2003 until they pulled the plug (with some breaks).
Best mmo experience I ever had.
SWG and a good friend I had there were a big part of who I became as a person.
Love this soundtrack. star wars universe is my home.
Man, the music takes me right back!
You sir are amazing, so many memories hitting me from back in the day, miss SWG so much :(
I miss this game so very much. Pre-CU SWG is the best game I’ve ever played. So many memories made in this game. Man…. I really wish we had this game back in its original state.
I MISSED MY FLIGHT! GOTTA WAIT HERE FOR 10 MINUTES NOW!!!
The first time my group went to Lok, the music blew us away. They picked the perfect piece for that place.
I wish I had the chance to play this game but sadly I will never be able to because I heard it was quite good
Clashing Images Productions
Can you link me the site or something?
+Clashing Images Productions lack of combat ruins it for me. it'll be awhile at the rate they are going.
SWGLegends is the complete NGE. SWGEmu is complete Pre CU.
Me commenting on this seven years ago and still listening to it to this day. The best Star Wars game ever.
theres tons of lore in star wars almost impossible to know it all and thats what makes me appreciate it
That game had so much potential, the original devs built a lot of future into it, they got screwed over.
