It might be interesting at the end of the Precon Power-Ups to give a rating (on the patented Nitpicking Nerds power scale) of what power you consider the upgraded deck to be. Maybe even a before and after power rating.

Even though it’s 7 months later, y’all convinced me to make this deck, and I got my first commander win today with a nearly complete version! Still need a few more cards, but this deck is stupidly fun and fast and can spiral out of control very quickly. Thanks guys!!

It’s so fascinating to see neglected cards in the past serve a practical purpose in newer stuff. If I saw these cards a year or two ago, I’d tell you that they’re pretty bad in EDH. But with a commander like this, they’re quite nice for a budget build

Predator's Hour isn't Impulse draw. It's for as long as they remain exiled. You can also play lands. It's close to drawing, worse cards, but always awaylable. I name it now: Exile Draw. Otherwise: I'm getting hooked on your content, great work. Subsribe, people!

True but I think exiled cards that can always be played is better than cards in hand. Don't you?They can't be targeted by opponents unless they use some strange eldrazi ability and you don't have to worry about hand size.
@@blaze556922 Yeah but those are really miniscule upsides. The downside is that the cards you draw won't synergize with your deck, which is pretty disappointing.
I do think the card is actually pretty good, though. Menace isn't bad and the card advantage is pretty good.
Vampire nighthawk is one of the best uncommons of all time imo

I love nighthawk. There’s just no way to come out ahead on board; either it chips away at you because blocking it is a miserable experience or it blocks your biggest threat and gains some life

I play against someone in my pod that regularly gets this guy out turn 2-3 and it is a fucking PAIN when Im piloting my voltron if I dont get the right draw.
I love this being more of a blood deck and less of a tribal deck, tribal decks tend to get stale quickly for me. Great video guys!

Nadier's night blade is another great add for this deck. Gives more damage and healing for free on blood sacrifice. Could potentially add mayhem devil and disciple of the vault as well.
Another good add would be underhanded designs, pings each opponent for 1 when you make blood tokens 👍🏽
I find out upgrades on this deck very interesting. What I did with mine personally was lean a bit more into the artifacts matter and the pain triggers. Squee to sack to the blood tokens for free card draw, Inspiring Statuary as a good way to cheat out other stuff and use blood tokens as Mana, as well as DarkSteel Juggernaut for a big hitter. Also Mirage Pharalax and Combat Celebrant for a nice infinite combo.
I remember when Bloodline Keeper was $2, because I bought a bunch of them. Really glad I did!
You forgot how good Ghirapur aether grid is with all these blood tokens!

Surprised no Voldaren Estate. Its only $2 and churns out a cheap to free blood token every turn. Plus, its flood protection.
Damn you nitpicking nerds! I thought that I don't like the commander decks according to VOW, but man I love this deck. So I guess, I have to built it. Keep on with your great work
With the leftover budget, maybe include an access tunnel? Could be useful if your opponents have blockers for Strefan. Also if you happen to upgrade your deck with the new Olivia it helps her get into combat unscathed.
Also wanted to ask, what do you guys think of Tibalt's Trickery in this deck, seems like such a fun card to put into any nonblue, red decks.

You overlooked Idol of Oblivion! Draw a card every time you create a blood token.
Well, not quite. You have to tap it so you can only draw once per turn
Vicious conquistador, pulse tracker and cryptghast seem like the most obvious 3 cards to be added to this deck
Necropolis Regent is soo good. It's a 12 right after you cheat it in, it's a 24 after next turn. Everything else that gets through gets the same effect.

There were so many cards replaced, I kinda feel like it it's a totally different deck. But the blood token synergies seem pretty strong!

Seeing how expensive an vampire tribal would be, I am amazed at how relatively cheap a Goblin deck is. The most expensive cards that I have in my Goblin tribal deck are around 7€.

What cards would you swap out to put in bloodline keeper and Olivia Crimson Bride?
Are untapped colorless two mana rocks really head and shoulders above a tapped color producing 2 drop rock?
Arterial Alchemy to equip your Westgate Regent could get to a win con level of power fairly fast.
I love my Edgar vampires deck, so I’ll just loot some cards out of this deck. I don’t need another Rakdos commander and I’m not a fan of Blood Tokens. My other option is to just keep it as a Pre-con so I have a lower power deck on hand.
Edit: Stromkirk Captain is really good in a Edgar Markov deck that has a bunch of 1/1’s, IMO.
Yeah Edgar is a go wide commander so he likes lords.
Strefan seems to be a vampire version of Kaalia/Winota

I found falkenrath forebear with reckless fireweaver is so good. Create a blood pings everyone get 3 more. Pings for 3 more. So 1 person takes 7 others take 4. So good.
Can i ask if you plan to extend the 50 $ upgrades with maybe 100$ or 150$ upgrades? My friends and i played with every of your upgrades and now it's time to upgrade the decks a little bit more :D

Long time player, this deck is way overpowered out of the box, not cedh powerful, but it's the most powerful precon I have ever played.

Am I missing something? I see a link for a list of added cards, but not a link/list of what you removed from the precon to make room for the added cards. Could you provide that as linked list?
You've probably addressed this by now, but if not you can submit the original precon decklist and the upgraded decklist to Moxfield. Then use their compare feature to show which cards are unique to each deck.

You can. A token creature may be PUT into the graveyard, but when it does, it vanishes away once it reaches the graveyard. 111.6, 111.7

Cranial plating might be a good blood token payoff as well since you can attach to the the big vampire just brought into play at instant speed and any extra blood tokens around boost the effect.

ok, its no budget upgrade, but sorin imperious bloodlord and Bloodline Keeper would be a great addition to this Deck also. According to Vampire Nighthawk, i dont think, it is that bad. you cant cheat every vampire in, so you need also some vampires, you can play. and this card have so much value. deathtouch can work to make the opponent dont want to attack or to kill a nasty creature. an when i play this deck, my creatures become very fast, very strong (vampire socialite for example) so flying and lifelink is a thing too. But yeah, ofcourse Nighthawk Scavenger is better ;)

💯 disagree with your take on Unclaimed Territory. Maybe in this deck you have a point. But in like 3+ color tribal, I'm playing a ton of creatures of that type. Having a land that taps for any color to play those cards with no downside is good. So what if it taps for colorless for spells. Other mana exists. It's just one card.
I love the video and I think the deck is medium level for sure, but I think that anthem vampire Stromkirk Captain is good.
Agreed, and the Necropolis Regent is a easy-to-use finisher if your blood token stuff doesn't pan out perfectly

I just want to comment on the title. If I were a new player that just bought this deck for 50 USD, spending that amount of money again on an upgrade seems crazy. I could just buy a whole new deck. How is this budget?
$100 is still considered fairly "budget" in mtg tbh considering the prices which some decks can get too. Some of my decks have singular cards which are $50 -$100 now. Dont feel forced into upgrading immediately though, I slowly upgrade decks overtime by trading and when I have the money. Grab some cheap stuff for $10-20 then go from there. Even my competitive deck worth like $700 started life as a $50 deck which I've slowly worked on for about 3 years now.

Sounds like you want a different Commander then, because that’s what he does. (I am not a fan of Blood Tokens, but that’s what this Commander is built around.)

As someone who has a vampire tribal deck without Edgar at the helm (dislike eminence too much philosophically to play the card) I really had high hopes for this set. Unfortunately it feels like a total letdown. Even the new Olivia is just kind of meh to me. Blood tokens are also tough to get excited about. There is the odd card here and there I'll find a home for but I was really hoping for one or two interesting legendary vampires to try to build around.
First upgrade, change the commander to Edgar
