I just picked up a 1995 30” wilderness camper needing almost the exact repairs as yours. I went outside today and tore the roof off. I’ll be replacing the rotted wood tomorrow, and hopefully a new rubber layer by next week. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without watching your videos. Keep it up man!
@ThatBlackCamaroSS Glad we could share in our efforts. Keep me posted with your progress. It’s a bit of work, but definitely worth the trouble. Good luck.
I will soon be starting ripping out water damage on a 20ft featherlight trailer, it has roof and wall damage. I’m thinking I should first do the wall since the wall hold up the roof. I guess it will be a learning experience
Nice video! I have a forest river 179dbk really Want to gut the walls, spray foam And do a bit of remodeling with the layout Add a mini split AC What you think?
@remodelyourrv I went through a whole role for one piece of trim on the vertical rear corner. Wouldn't a butyl caulking be more efficient? Please share your recommendation. Thanks, love the channel.
Roof and that corners when you have the vertical the horizontal on your rear wall and your horizontal on your sidewall going forward I just replaced the rear wall and you know all I can do is fold it like a napkin would you know and then tuck it underneath the trim roof insert and then lap sealant it. Is there any specific way to fold the extra rubber at the corners? I'm about to do it now I've got about an hour I'm going to do the butylene tape on the roof trim inserts on the passenger side long way front to back before I do the corners so if you can get me up somebody could hit me up ASAP I'd appreciate it
Did you replace the trim on the front corners? Or did you reuse the original. I also have a Dutchman I'm trying to fix and if I could find replacement molding for the front it would make it much easier.
Did you have any issues with that vinyl moulding fitting over those screws? I bought the same ones to use on my roof trim and hopefully the corner trim. Want this thing as water tight as possible! Lol
Do you have any suggestions on how to remove rusty corner trim screws? I just purchased a 1999 Fleetwood Tioga and one of the corner trim pieces needs to be replaced. There are several screws that have the heads sheered off and several others that won't budge under "normal" screw removal techniques (I typically use my clutched drill with appropriate sized bit after a good dowsing of PB Blast). Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Shannon, I believe most of the trim pieces are available in 8' and 16' pieces (at least what I found), but it can be ordered in longer lengths. I used my old trim as a guide, but you can just measure the linear length of what you need and order the appropriate length. If you have excess it can also be cut to fit by you. Thanks for checking in.
U should be fine not covering those washer heads on the termination bar a line a caulking should do just fine on the top of it...... great video though bro 👌🏼

I've seen people do that with a mini split. It takes a little work, but they seem to be happy.
Why a mini split?
Looks good
Thanks for the kind words!
Did u put buytl tape under the trim before screwing it back on?
Yes, I did. I went through tons of butyl tape during this project.

I've been out of town and missed this. How did it go?

I reused my original trim. I haven't searched for that product so I'm not sure the best place to start.
How much was the Cost of Materials? Just for roof?
The roof kit was about $500 (give or take)

Everything fit fine. A little snug in some spots, but no issues!

Is there enough sticking out where you can get a pair of vice grips on it?
@@remodelyourrv I'll have to update you once I get the entire trim piece off.
❤❤❤❤
Thanks.
How do you measure your trim

Did you put butyl tape under the trim?
Yes, I did. Butyl tape was affixed under all the exterior trim.

Thank you sir!
I just took my 1972 Mobile Scout Vaquero down to the frame…yikes
I'm guessing it's bad?
I did same thing built the walls out of plywood 😅
