Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*
Thank you for this video. I was just quoted 14k to replace just the membrane on my roof the plywood and foam is all in perfect condition. They made it sound much more difficult than your video shows. I work professionally in the commercial construction industry so I am more than capable to do this and honestly I trust my work more than someone at a local dealer.
They probably did have some hyped up sales pitch but everyone is basically paying for the high insurance. Asphalt shingles are more brutal to work with, especially since rubber is used on low pitches. Big rubber jobs can get fucked up if you're not focused. It sucks to pull back up, or spilling glue, etc. 14 grand for what size exactly? On a friggin' camper?!
I was just told yesterday that the roof on the camper we baught last year is going to need the roof done and he said we'd be looking at probably $10k to replace it , I said I ain't Daddy Warbucks .. lol so here I am checking out videos because I know I can do the work , just need to educate myself first .👍
Right on man. Way good. I've been in the construction industry for 20 years. You are a born teacher. No BS. Right to the point. No "RUclips " fluff. It's about time that I see a show that's about the topic. Keep on, keeping on. Subscribed
I am an RV tech and do roofs all the time, takes me the better part of an 8 hour day and maybe an hour in the morning. It's really not a hard job unless you have severe water damage. However if you do it yourself you will save tons of money.
It is probably worth the trial and error following a tutorial by learning a new trade but you'll spend 30-40 hours of tedious, frustrating labor learning the ropes while trying to stay under 2k in materials in order to save ~4k vs paying a pro to do the whole thing for 6k.
FINALLY a video actually SHOWING the procedure instead of just pointing out what you will be doing. THANK YOU for this., for speaking clearly, for showing the products you use, and for not skipping any steps!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I think this is the best 'How To' video I've seen on the subject. You are clear and concise and don't waste the viewers time with irrelevant B.S.. I'll be doing my 1990 Ford/Fleetwood later this summer.
keeping the water out is the life of the home, you did it about as good as i have ever seen, thank you,the way you explained and showed it,i can do this,i can see right now that in the middle of the country i'm gonna need a large tarp to back up this work as it rains here often, thank you
Excellent work dude. It's always great seeing guys and gals taking their time and doing everything correctly. No cutting corners or making modifications to the product, process, or installation. There are so many out there filming their shoddy work and uploading it as the "best way" to complete the project because "the way they say to do it isn't necessary and takes too long. Not only can save money to buy beer with, but you'll save a lot of time to drink your beer with if you just use this or do it this way....... ". A few years later those types of people are dealing with a failed roof and extensive water damage. Again, great work man. Thank you for uploading. Cheers!
I appreciate the time and effort you made in order to explain and show this in detail. The way you do your videos actually makes me think I can really do this. Thank you.
This was the best and most beneficial video on replacing a motorhome roof that I could find. Great Job and thank you for the assistance in replacing my roof!
This is one of the best roof replacement vids that I have seen. Quick, yet very thorough. My overhead cab was rebuilt by an RV repair shop. But they did NOT replace the decking under it! Which sucks. The rest of my roof is good except for that part. Now I have a better understanding on what needs to be done. I am grateful for this vid! 👍
This was helpful for me today because I was concerned I did not have scaffolding to apply the roof with. Now I see walking on it is not a problem so THANK YOU for your thorough project video and the great resources.
One of the best instructional videos I have watched. Thanks for taking the time to describe the products you are using such as the plywood, adhesive, seam tape, and bonding adhesive.
There is a motorhome for sale with roof work that needs to be done that I want to get and it looks like a huge job but with your step by step explanation I told myself that I can do that myself!!! Thank you soo much for the video!! FANTASTIC VIDEO!!
you all prolly dont care but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Luke Kobe Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

You explained all the procedures pretty well. Got me thinking you're not an amature. You and the wife did a very professional job. Thanks for posting such informative video.
Great video! I’m in sales at a RV dealership and I wanted to know a little better how the process of replacing a roof works and this video was extremely helpful!
Thank you for this great video, I have been hesitating for the past 3.5 years. I was given a price this summer tax not included$5500 he said it would take him two days. I being retired blew me away , now going on my 4th winter no RV to go south.Seeing your video has inspired me I wish it would be summer now, I would start today. thank you.I need a friend like you to be near by for support. THANK YOU
This was so helpful! I’m looking for a motorhome and to stay within my budget am looking at home 20+ years old. And more than likely will need some TLC. Thank you so much for all the extra tips and advice!
Great Job! One suggestion for anyone doing this in the future; go ahead an Eternabond the front and rear caps as well as the vents. That will provide the extra bit of protection from water intrusion and Eternabond tape last much longer then the tube sealant.
I just got a used 35ft 5th wheel with lots of roofing issues, thank you so much for this video, cut my stress down a lot, now to find a video of slide outs, have 3 of those to fix also!
Wow what a great tutorial and for the life of me i cant understand how anyone could give this a thumbas down, if I owned a company that did this I'd hire you and let you teach every new hire and watching this would be mandatory. I'm looking at buying a camper that needs roof repair and when I searched youtube this one was the first one I seen and the last one I need to do this......................thankyou For taking the time to show the entire process
Excellent video. Detailed, complete....Anyone who didn't like it probably wanted it to be super easy I guess. Thanks for the links. The RV shop wanted 6k to replace. I will let you know how it goes.
Dude this was well put together man. It was easy to follow and you make a good host for the video. Talking about all the little details others skim over. Props man, now I feel confident I cam do this on my RV. Thanks!
Excellent, now you need a roof , that is the only thing that preserves the RV when parked . My 1984 is still running strong and that's stronger than me at 72. SUN is the big problem then rain . Keep up the good work and keep your helper happy.
I really liked this video! It was very well put together, the narration was was well spoken, easily understood, and has lots of great tips. Thanks for posting this!!!
Excellent video!! I just bought and RV and the roof has leaks and the vents are cracked and it's just needing so much work. I'll watch your videos for sure!
This guy either installs roofs for a living or he's the best handyman I've ever seen ,my guess is that he's a roofer because no handyman would know about using a punch to stop tearing at penetrations ,you did a nice job man ,on my 5th wheel I installed 60 mil fleece backed fully adhered Trocal PVC roof , i got lucky on my deck having no rott so i chose a 1/4 OSB and glued it to the existing deck using yellow glue on the deck amd the bottom of the new deck because i didnt want fasteners on my deck ,i taped my seams as well ,I chose PVC over rubber or TPO so I could heat weld the roof to the edge metal I custom bent into a one piece drip edge/gutter channel, I also made 8 inch high roof curbs for my vents and A.C. units that I wrapped with PVC coated metal so I could heat weld the roof sheet to the curbs and be water tight without any flashing ,I used Tech 5 fasteners for my gutter channel that have rubber washers ,once tight I covered every fastener with a blob of white Vulkem polyurethane caulking and tooled it in , I have 4 slide outs I waterproofer using White Firestone 60 mil EPDM that worked out well too .
Thanks man. Lets just say I'm definitely not a "roofer" but that being said I also installed a metal roof on my house. I have the footage maybe some day I will make a how to video with it. Sounds like you did an amazing job with your roof as well!
This is an awesome and very informative video. I like how you are informative but you dont waste time talking about stuff that is not necessary and wastes time. Thank you so much. i will be doing my Prowler roof in a week or two.
This video was very well done! I just watched it in case I need to do this at a later time. I now know what's under the rubber and how it all goes together. Thanks for doing this! God bless!
Way better video than the rest. saved for reference when I do mine next month. This video took away some fears I was having about doing it myself. And answered some questions why I have a problem with my roof now.
Nice video and great quality install! I'm renovating a 1993 fleetwood bounder Class C RV myself and this is a huge project to do by myself. I'm sharing my journey that I'm in the process of doing with anyone who wants to watch. I'm replacing my roofing with 45 mil TPO, now I'm trying to figure how to get that roofing on the roof by myself ( over 100 lbs!! ). Thanks for sharing
Thanks!! I have this job coming up this month. First video I’ve seen with the plywood/styrofoam/metal structure like have!! I’ll get my putty knives ready!
Instead of using roofing screws on the side termination bars, I'd use longer pan head screws like you used to screw the roofing to the edges of the vent openings. You can get the rubber washers separate to add to those pan head screws. You'll have a smoother line, and less wind noise. I'd also put a tiny dab of sealant on the screw threads as I installed them
Kickass video and super informative. Thank you for putting this together cause my roof just peeled up last night on my way home. Now I have to figure out which direction I’m going to go.
Man you ROCK I was going to give up my 93 pace arrow 38 footer. The inside is nice still but the roof is very bad, But thanks to you and your helper I'm getting my RV back.!! Thank you sir great video
Great and informative video. Thank you !!! I am just starting this project on my own 1995 Flair 30-foot RV. The dealer wants $5000 to do this job ! With your instruction and my own materials, this will cost me about $500. Thanks again. - Captain Carburetor in Colorado. 2017
$5000 is crazy!! I actually have an extra 10 x 30 roof kit that is the exact same as the one in the video it was 488 new I would sell it for $300 shipped if interested let me know thanks. I was going to reroof 2 motorhomes but sold the other one so now I don't need the extra kit.
C.L.S. Allinone did you sell it yet ? Your video got me also :), going to do this on my fathers 5th wheel. If you still have that kit I’d buy it off of you. Thanks rather way. Great instructional video !
I like the details of the difference in the screws. The best roof replacement video I’ve seen because I’m a detail person. I’m going to be replacing the roof on an 84 Winnebago project so this will be the way I’ll do it. Im not good at heights but I’ll give it a try. Thanks
I need to do this to my roof and I like most was dreading it! Sincerely thank you for your informative and descriptive hard-working video. You covered everything perfectly!
Very well done.Im in the middle of doing mine. Its a 30 class c.Inthuoght I was getting a bargain. But it ended up being so water damaged that I had to replace the front and rear caps.Loved your video.wish I had seen it earlier.
This video was very well made and I really appreciate it. I look forward to watching more of your content. I would have never considered doing this roof replacement, but this video makes me think I can do it. Thank you!
Absolutely the best rv roofing I’ve seen. You explained every detail and show everything. Congratulations on your Rv. I’m planing on buying one, but I can’t afford an expense one. Most Rv have roofing issues some are just horrible mess. Flooring is another big issue. I will save your video for future references. Thank you so very much :0)
This video was extremely helpful thank you for taking the time to make it and put it up! I just recently purchased a travel trailer to full time live in and when we got to the roof found a huge half done patch that LEAKS. Dang it lol. But I feel more confident now about it! Thanks!!
Very well done video. Great detail provided. We have signs of a roof leak in the front of our 2000 TT and I'm about to remove the ceiling to see how much damage is involved. Pros want at least $5k to fix and redo the entire roof. Trailer's not worth that, so I may need to try it myself. Your video showed me it can be done........maybe.
This is one of the best videos for RV roofing I have ever seem here. Thank you for this video. I will be using it as a guide to do the roof of my RV soon.
Beautiful job and great tutorial video. I have a older Class C that surprisingly has a decent looking roof with no soft spots and no leaks, as if yet..But I know it’s coming and will replace it before it is a problem. I’ll use your vid as a guide..
Best presentation on this subjects I have seen. It was well presented and clear and understandable to a novice person such as I I have the same unit but its a 90 28 foot long On a FORD Chassis and 460 CI engine which I an restoring for future use I have estimates of around $1500. to do this. We even had a person pitch me at a R,V. SHOW for $4500 for a thick coating system,
Its me again...I started about a week ago. Took everything off the roof and removed the EPDM. I had a lot of rotten wood so I decided to replace all of 1/4" plywood decking. I'm about half done with that. The weather has not been kind. Thanks to this video I'm saving a ton of money and I'll have a new roof when done.
@@danielkofman4592 I just finished replacing all the 1/4" plywood. I I had some rotten sub structure as well and repaired that as well. Next week end my son and I will start laying down the EPDM.
Nice Job. A lot of work. One thing......make sure to check your roofing screws once a year. They have a habit of coming loose with movement such as a mobile camper will have.
Video very well done you make this look fun and easy.My trailer is only 4 years old and after watching your video i would like to replace my roof just you made it look easy. Thanks for sharing.
Great video!! I also decided I can do this because of this video. This guy had more work to do than I did! That said, this is still a long ass job! Its all labor. The local rv service center told me $3-5000.00 for a 35ft rv. Depending on what they find under the old rubber. $515 for a kit. I'll probably end spending $8-900 with all the new stainless screws and new moldings/trim. Again, awesome video and thank you so much for making it!
I think I've spent so far about $1,200 and I'll probably end up spending about the $1,500 to replace the entire roof on my 33-footer eternal blonde tape screws new vents and adding an antenna for the stereo which could be important and a small little roof vent with a fan on it just for the kitchen it's not one of those 14-in square vents it's a small round one that actually takes the humidity and the smoke out of your kitchen it looks like the vents for the water tanks but it has a fan in the middle which is pretty cool. anyway I hope it all went well and if you have any advice for me I'd appreciate it I'm still trying to find an underlayment for the front phylon fiberglass that I have removed in order to repair the front.
This Lottes TPO roofing material and install appears to be of the best i've seen on youtube. Also, you're the only one I've seen install that Dicor stuff sparingly. I like sparingly. But, I don't trust that Dicor stuff to last. I think the one thing I would do is apply Eternabond tape stuff to all the edges. Maybe in a couple years you'll apply the Eternabond, right over what you have now. You won't have to remove the Dicor because you applied it thin. Note, I've never done an RV roof. . . Just my two shingles....
That is far and away the best video I have seen on how to replace a roof on an RV! Takes a bit (albeit a small bit) of the worry I'm feeling about the project!
Had to make sure its pretty much the same as a residential epdm roof. Installed a few of those and im a contractor so i am Definitely doing this with some friends😂. Thanks a bunch for the clarification and info as well!
This was a very well explained video. That should be easy for anyone to follow. Thanks for taking the time to create this. Can't even understand the dislikes. I will be tackling this project next week, referring back to this video as I go.
Hey man, thank you for doing this great video, I was worried about picking up an rv with water damage cause I thought repairs would be a nightmare but this makes it look so easy even I could fix it! Great video!
My boyfriend and I getting an small 1977 rv for $1000 the roof desperately needs fixed the lady were buying it from wants to use Tarr to seal it it that a good idea thank you you so much for the video
This is a fantastic video ! ! ! It could have been titled the anatomy of an RV roof, because it explains it all. My only suggestion is to put sealant on the threads of all screws, so that they seal to every layer on the way in. I can see saving a lot buying an RV that is cheap because it is in need of a roof and putting one on myself.
Wow! Has to be the best video on this I’ve seen. You did an awesome job! Thanks for documenting the little details and tips on what tools and screws worked best. I’m about to do my roof, of course mine won’t be as good as yours since I don’t have a helper like yours lol. But hey maybe I’ll meet one once I start lol You did a fantastic job and again thank you for posting it. Cheers mate and happy trails

The tip about using a hole punch is noted in the Dicor factory produced instructional video for replacing a rubber roof.
About how much did all the materials cost for all the materials? Thanks ! Great Job, Better than New !
Hey Micheail, do you have pics or video with the heat weld bonds
Did you show all the damage to the inside?
I know it’s been a long time ago but I’m needing to do this to my 5th wheel and I appreciate you.
This is an awesome and very informative video. I like how you are informative but you dont waste time talking about stuff that is not necessary and wastes time. Thank you so much. i will be doing my Prowler roof in a week or two.
That was oddly very satisfying to watch. Thank you
This video was very well done! I just watched it in case I need to do this at a later time. I now know what's under the rubber and how it all goes together. Thanks for doing this! God bless!
PlowHand thank you
Best video I seen out here on the tube very detailed on things, noticed the link is no longer active?
Way better video than the rest. saved for reference when I do mine next month. This video took away some fears I was having about doing it myself. And answered some questions why I have a problem with my roof now.
Im reroofing an 85 trailer. Myself. I found your video helpful.
Great job! Wow. Way to do it right! This is a very helpful video and well done. It is nice to see that you didn't cut any corners on this project.
Nice job! Very nice detail for those who have never attempted this project.
What's the material that's being rolled on the roof
Nice video and great quality install! I'm renovating a 1993 fleetwood bounder Class C RV myself and this is a huge project to do by myself. I'm sharing my journey that I'm in the process of doing with anyone who wants to watch. I'm replacing my roofing with 45 mil TPO, now I'm trying to figure how to get that roofing on the roof by myself
( over 100 lbs!! ). Thanks for sharing
Thank you
How has your tpo held up? Need to do mine trying to decide on epdm or tpo.
Man, really well done video. I love your pacing and narration. You got skills!
Thanks!! I have this job coming up this month. First video I’ve seen with the plywood/styrofoam/metal structure like have!! I’ll get my putty knives ready!
Wow! This is best step by step replacing of your RV roof I've seen thus far. Oh, and he does have a beautiful assistant here in his video. 👌👍
Thanks. She says thank you.
Instead of using roofing screws on the side termination bars, I'd use longer pan head screws like you used to screw the roofing to the edges of the vent openings. You can get the rubber washers separate to add to those pan head screws. You'll have a smoother line, and less wind noise. I'd also put a tiny dab of sealant on the screw threads as I installed them
Nice job on both the RV and the video. Took a lot of extra time to put it together and record each stop. Well done my friend.
Thank you sir great video
thanks man
Jay Allen Do you really think that she will ever be in Prison, hell these people work for making is ra El great again!
we can only hope my friend. we only got 7 years left to take the whole thing down
I am doing a 15 foot roof on a 76 Taurus, after a complete rebuild. Thanks for video and info.
Do you still have the kit?
Thanks
Good luck man
C.L.S. Allinone
Thanks! Hope you do more rv repair and products test.
Not dealing with an RV, but the tip about the spray foam gun made my day.
Great job! One of the better DIY vids I’ve seen on any subject. Thanks for taking the time.
DA H thank you
it realy was , wasnt it ??
I need to do this to my roof and I like most was dreading it! Sincerely thank you for your informative and descriptive hard-working video. You covered everything perfectly!
thank you
Very well done.Im in the middle of doing mine. Its a 30 class c.Inthuoght I was getting a bargain. But it ended up being so water damaged that I had to replace the front and rear caps.Loved your video.wish I had seen it earlier.
Yea water can cause so much damage its crazy.
Thank u
This is one of the best videos for RV roofing I have ever seem here. Thank you for this video. I will be using it as a guide to do the roof of my RV soon.
That is a really smart ides to use seam tape, just in case a corner ever pulls up or anything
Beautiful job and great tutorial video. I have a older Class C that surprisingly has a decent looking roof with no soft spots and no leaks, as if yet..But I know it’s coming and will replace it before it is a problem. I’ll use your vid as a guide..
Thank you
Best presentation on this subjects I have seen. It was well presented and clear and understandable to a novice person such as I I have the same unit but its a 90 28 foot long On a FORD Chassis and 460 CI engine which I an restoring for future use I have estimates of around $1500. to do this. We even had a person pitch me at a R,V. SHOW for $4500 for a thick coating system,
Nice
This is an amazing video🎉🎉 Clearly explained as a easy to follow. Liked and subscribed. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Oh hell yes I can do this. This is one of the best how to videos I've watched. I'll start ordering my materials today.
@@davidgarrett4207 Did you finish it?
@@danielkofman4592 I just finished replacing all the 1/4" plywood. I I had some rotten sub structure as well and repaired that as well. Next week end my son and I will start laying down the EPDM.
@@davidgarrett4207 how'd it go David?
@@jacobburns9343 Perfect...does not leak and looks great.
You guys did an amazing job and you are very clear and easy to follow along with!!
Thank you
Nice Job. A lot of work. One thing......make sure to check your roofing screws once a year. They have a habit of coming loose with movement such as a mobile camper will have.
John Benz thanks man
Video very well done you make this look fun and easy.My trailer is only 4 years old and after watching your video i would like to replace my roof just you made it look easy. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Its a little harder then it looks though but don't let that stop from doing it your self and saving yourself 1000's of dollars.
Thanks to you, I'll now be buying a trailer on the cheap because owner doesn't want to pay for roof. 👍🏻
Excellent video. Outstanding job. Thank you for taking the time to go over all the steps and show everyone how its done.
That's a detailed demo. I now know how to replace my own motorhome roof. Thanks greatly!
Just wanted to say a big thank you for this. Helped us a huge amount, especially with our confidence.
Thanks, Your welcome
Tar will not work well and has solvent in it which will melt/damage any existing tpo or tpu roof much more.
Fantastic tutorial! Great detail, and extra attention to critical areas! Thanks so much!!!
Excellent video my friend...lm an old retired contractor...have a 23' flair& lm doing my complete roof as you...thanks for heads up!!!😎👍
Great step by step You are great at helping us rookies
Best tutorial I've seen! Thank You
Wow! Has to be the best video on this I’ve seen. You did an awesome job! Thanks for documenting the little details and tips on what tools and screws worked best. I’m about to do my roof, of course mine won’t be as good as yours since I don’t have a helper like yours lol. But hey maybe I’ll meet one once I start lol
You did a fantastic job and again thank you for posting it.
Cheers mate and happy trails
Agree, and I watched **a lot of videos on this subject**
Has to be one of the best HOW TO's on youtube!!! Thank you!!
Uh....Wow! This is a impressive video! Thanks for taking time to make this thorough instructional!!!
