I know this is a weird comparison but I feel that it's his body type and the way he capitalizes on his reach and leverage, amongst other things obviously, is what makes him so dangerous. Abe Lincoln, oddly enough, was a monster when it came to wrestling bouts (it was one of his favorite past times) and due to his body type (crazy reach/lanky yet strong/understood leverage) he went virtually undefeated for hundreds of matches (299 and 1). Granted these weren't Olympic cards or "Pro" wrestling like WWE or what not, they were really unregulated and slightly shady yet some rules were enforced. It makes sense when you figure they (Bones and Abe) had relatively the same stature and body type. The most important variable is the ability to apply leverage using their fight I.Q.'s as well.

It makes me insanely happy that people are still putting out content and just saying how it is what it is, regardless of his lifestyle choices hes an animalistic fighter
To this day i've never seen an MMA fighter do the Roy Jones hands behind the back peekaboo punches like Jon Jones did to Glover. And he did to Glover while Glover was in his prime on a 21 fight win streak, to Glover who is a power punching boxer, and he did it in a championship fight. Jones is once in a generation.
What's even crazier is that he had to be juiced up to do it. If you fail for steroids, you fail to be the greatest. He could have been but he likes steroids and crack too much.
He's a modern day Samson. Another example that even though being the best is glorious, it will always fail when pride causes the person to forget who they are, from whom they owe their strength, and to whom they should hold themselves responsible towards. No man is an island and choosing to remember who we are is always the path from weakness to strength.

If Jones was to fight the Ngannou before Stipe 2 fight i would say it would be a flawless victory, but this current Ngannou, man thats a diff case. The way he handled Gane was just brutal
@Oodles of Noodles This isn't about his morals, it's about his fighting ability. Being a possible raging sociopath doesn't take away from his fighting talent.
He is undeniably one of the greatest fighters of all time but also one of the dirtiest fighters of all time. The seemingly intentional eye pokes, the nasty kicks to knees, looking back at many of his finishes he lands strikes to the back of opponents heads (that shit can kill people) along with all the questionable acts outside the cage. Great video and accurate title.
Thats a BIG part of what makes him so good. He doesn't just have the perfect BODY for combat sports, he also has the perfect MIND, a borderline sociopath, knows what he has to do to win at all times and will execute those actions with no remorse.
All controversy aside… If ur just talking about fighting ability… Jon Jones is the best fighter ever. His physical attributes in combination with his creativity and fight I.Q are unmatched.
Clearly you don’t know what the hell your talking about. The greatest of all time in the ufc is clearly George Saint Pierre. He made the sport incredibly popular before fucking mcgregor and had incredible skills.
Nothing to do with life choices you never know if he could beat DC with out stiroids, apparently he himself didn't believe that he could that's why he doped😂😂😂😂😂
The greatest MMA fighter if all time, unrivaled talent so much so that he handicapped himself in every fight and still put up wins every time. I am not a fan of his antics outside the cage, but as not only a fan, but a fighter who had dreams and promise with the bad luck of breaking my femur and getting permanent spinal cord damage just before my debut, I made sure to watch Jones because I wanted to be better than him in the cage. Not happening BTW, not where I was at 8 years ago or now especially since 30 and need a cane on good days lol. The man has the perfect fighting body and is the most perfect fighter. Unfortunately Jones didn't suffer those hard issues and got slaps on the wrist for had behavior outside the cage. If he has lost legitimately to anyone, Jon wouldn't be the way he is today. He's so good the only person who can beat Jon Jones is Jon Jones, both impressive and depressing
Jon Jones is probably the most disrespected GOAT in the GOATs conversation. Think about it. Anytime you mention Jon Jones, you get “Peds” “Wife beater” “Terrible human being” etc. And this is all irrelevant considering the fact that individual character aren’t a measurement for fighting prowess. And that everybody uses PEDS. However, when it comes to ACTUALLY trying to make an argument against Jones, you won’t see much at all. Or even a little. Because Jones is one of the GOATS, and people hate that fact. They deny it, they rebel against that idea. But deep down inside, they know that Jon Jones is one of the GOATS. It’s kind of like saying the sun doesn’t exist while looking directly at it, Jones greatness is too bright to genuinely think that he’s NOT one of the GOATS.
@@Uuyrijies1123 exactly correct, in terms of goat conversation you must separate the art from the artist. Too many people struggle with that and I'm happy to see you have no issue on it. Personally I don't think he is a good person, I'd like to see him lose, but he is the best. Goat of p4p and overall career
How did he handicap himself? By going out to do some coke on the weekend before his fight? That's not handicap, that's just a potential excuse Incase he loses, he can then blame it on the partying. but in reality it is not any real handicap to party for a nite or coke and you have a day or two to recover.
@@Uuyrijies1123Sure he’s a great fighter, but he used PED’s, like is it really that hard to wrap your head around? he cheated so he can’t be the GOAT, PED’s are banned from the sport and are illegal and tested regularly, so you can’t be the best at a sport if you can’t even follow the rules. I would have agreed with you if he didn’t use them, 100%, he is a gifted and talented fighter but he physically can not be the goat bc he can’t follow the rules of the sport
@@lpxile441 The fact you have the temerity to say this when its proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Jones tested positive for anabolic steroids is astounding. Jones is a proven cheat, multiple times, JBJ fans are in no position to accuse anyone of PED usage when their boy used them himself.
@@madgavin7568 who is not popping peds...again with this......izzy is in trouble now "don't tell me you believed him when he said he got that titty from smoking weed lol ......so this makes just about every champ a ped popper......how can his legacy be affected after we all know 90 percent of everyone there uses them and knows how to pass the test. How many more fighters have to blast the ufc or how many more testing companies have to blast the ufc for all the loopholes fighters use to pass the test have to come out. come on I know you have common sense use it.
I'm not much of an MMA fan but I've heard that Jones is one of the best fighters ever. I just checked his size. Being 6'4" is an advantage but his real advantage is having a 7'1" wingspan. That's super elite, even in the NBA.
Agree that Mazzagatti should have stopped the fight earlier but God damn those elbows are 100% DQ worthy too. I mean Jones knew the dude was barely conscious and decided "ok, guess I'll shatter his skull if no one is going to stop me". Like kicking a grounded opponent in the head there's just no reason for it ever.
The crazy thing to think of, is how good Jon is and could have been. If he didn't take 25% of his MMA career off cause of PEDs, Arrests, and other things. Than on top lay off the drugs, the drinking and all of that. This man wouldn't have just been the GOAT for MMA but maybe one of the great overall fighters of all time as well.

You're a bit of an arrogant narcissist but thanks for watching
Jones was arrested by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers in the early morning hours of Sept. 24, per the arrest report. When he was taken into custody, Jones "became irate and smashed his head onto the front hood" of a police vehicle, causing a medium-sized dent and paint chipping, according to the report. That led to the initial felony charge of injuring or tampering with a vehicle.
The police were called by a security guard at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino who encountered a crying woman inside the hotel. The woman told the security guard she was afraid to go back to her room and was taken to the security office. The woman told police that Jones was a "little" physical with her, touching the back of her head and pulling her hair. She said Jones didn't hit her, though officers saw blood on the women's clothing and a bump on her lip with dried blood. The woman said her lips were very dry. Police also observed blood on the bed sheets inside the hotel room, according to the report.
It makes me insanely happy that people are still putting out content and just saying how it is what it is, regardless of his lifestyle choices hes an animalistic fighter
This video's production work is amazing!
Mcgregor did it to alvarez
@@pr0fess0rbadass McGregor didn't connect a punch while doing it though like RJJ and JJ did.
About time someone made a good video like this on bones
Its crazy that he would have a 22 win streak in the ufc with all the legends that he has faced if it wasn't for the DQ
It is a 22 fight win streak. Undisputed goat
What's even crazier is that he had to be juiced up to do it. If you fail for steroids, you fail to be the greatest. He could have been but he likes steroids and crack too much.
@@youngshiner1834 you are goddamn right
@@vinm3630 they’re all on steroids
he would not even be in the UFC if not for the PED's that gave him that streak...
He'll always be the Goat in my eyes. He was unbeatable and his fight IQ was second to none
@Josh R Seriously, people are way too blind and in doubt of what kinda person jones is
Great documentary!! I'm going down the CLENCHED TEETH rabbit hole. Here we go
Let’s go!!!
Say what you want but as a fighter he's the best to ever do it.
He's a modern day Samson. Another example that even though being the best is glorious, it will always fail when pride causes the person to forget who they are, from whom they owe their strength, and to whom they should hold themselves responsible towards. No man is an island and choosing to remember who we are is always the path from weakness to strength.
I'm not anyone's fan I don't like the sport but I can say one thing about Jones ..he can withstand great pressure and pain and that's the key to win.
really good video thank you for making it those 30 minutes felt so fast
less than 3
Great research, and editing! Hope you gain subscribers soon, you provide a lot from both sides of the cage
The best UFC fighter ever. Can't wait till he comes back.
pretty sure he’s a heavy weight now, he can run the class if he stayed out of trouble
Now he did
Heavyweight Champ at his first comeback fight

This was very well made and a great watch. Thumbs up.
jones added a new fan in his belt, that arm bar and broken toe stories were so badass.
If Jones was to fight the Ngannou before Stipe 2 fight i would say it would be a flawless victory, but this current Ngannou, man thats a diff case. The way he handled Gane was just brutal
22:32 is hilarious. Herb Dean's reaction was like "You can't do that!" 😂💀
Thats the problem of being young with gifted talent. I wont judge you Bones, you are still a GOAT! STAY OUT OF TROUBLE FFS! Hehe
Skilled, a tough sob, and can take a punch. That’s why he’s the man.
he is aa pussy actually more of a female tbh ... sneaky and pussy assed behavior
@Oodles of Noodles still the goat
@Oodles of Noodles he can hit your girl and you can do nothing so keep quit
@Oodles of Noodles top g
@Oodles of Noodles This isn't about his morals, it's about his fighting ability. Being a possible raging sociopath doesn't take away from his fighting talent.
Nice documentary, top notch work here Sir. Keep doing it
It it wasn't for his out of ring behavior or his sometimes dirty fighting tactics he'd be the undisputed 🐐. The man is a MMA machine.
This is one Superb Documentary, Well done sir.
Simply the best to ever do it, what a 🐐!
He is the best fighter to ever step into that octagon.
@@ericsmith6677 Prides legitimacy is very questionable due to fixing, and I still think Jon is better tbh.
@@ericsmith6677 nobody beats jones at LHW. we dont know about HW yet.
WOW, what a documentary! Phenomenal work on this story; you kept my attention the ENTIRE time. Keep up the great work! Subbed 😎👍
Great video and accurate title.
oblique kicks are perfectly legal
@@MichellBollinger was about to comment that too
@AJ they should be illegal but its not his fault
The greatest. Prove me wrong
Thats a BIG part of what makes him so good. He doesn't just have the perfect BODY for combat sports, he also has the perfect MIND, a borderline sociopath, knows what he has to do to win at all times and will execute those actions with no remorse.
Awesome documentary man. Keep the good work. Thank you!
He’s an inspiration for all upcoming fighters. He proved you can get caught cheating and still be considered one of the GOATs of MMA
Just like kobe bryant bro
i just wanna see the goat return
Extremely high quality stuff man, keep up the good work.
One of the best john bones biographies I’ve seen
I really hope he's coming back!! I miss his fights and stunts pulled
I'll beat the breaks off Jon Jones
All controversy aside… If ur just talking about fighting ability… Jon Jones is the best fighter ever. His physical attributes in combination with his creativity and fight I.Q are unmatched.
GOAT. Flawed genius. No human is perfect. So many geniuses of all different crafts have had Flawes and demons.
Having a habit of talking over people is a flaw. Beating your wife regularly is something else entirely.
His fight against Gustafson was one of the best fights I've ever seen!!
Video needs way more likes I really like the way you put this together. Thank you for this
Imagine if he put a little angle on those elbows, he'd still be undefeated
he is undefeated
Dude beat TRT Vitor, enough said.
This is a masterpiece. Holy shit
The amount of work you put in these videos is absolutely amazing ❤
loved the choice of backing music. well made. good job keep it up
He's the greatest fighter to ever live.
Imagine someone saying that about you and it actually being true.
If he was the greatest, he wouldn't need steroids.
The greatest wouldn't fail piss tests.
Dude was juiced to the tits, that means not the greatest lol
One of the greatest cheaters of all time as well lol
With some help from old uncle Roy
Clearly you don’t know what the hell your talking about. The greatest of all time in the ufc is clearly George Saint Pierre. He made the sport incredibly popular before fucking mcgregor and had incredible skills.
One of the most tarnished legacies in MMA history in no small part due to his cheating.
Probably the best fighter to ever walk on earth 🔥🔥
man it sucks to see such a talented fighter tarnish his own career with poor life choices 🙁
Nothing to do with life choices you never know if he could beat DC with out stiroids, apparently he himself didn't believe that he could that's why he doped😂😂😂😂😂
@@nartali9683 i don't think thats the problem he's talking about
The greatest MMA fighter if all time, unrivaled talent so much so that he handicapped himself in every fight and still put up wins every time.
Even uncle chael (undefeated, never lost a round) acknowledges that jones is a force to be reckoned with
could careless what he did outside He will always be the true Goat
What about popping thrice for PEDs? One of which was after one of the best performances of his career in DC. That's a tarnished legacy.
The only things he did outside that affects his GOAT status is the PEDs, all the rest has nothing to do with him as a fighter.
@@madgavin7568 DC was also on juice for that fight and still got his ass kicked
@@lpxile441 The fact you have the temerity to say this when its proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Jones tested positive for anabolic steroids is astounding. Jones is a proven cheat, multiple times, JBJ fans are in no position to accuse anyone of PED usage when their boy used them himself.
@@madgavin7568 who is not popping peds...again with this......izzy is in trouble now "don't tell me you believed him when he said he got that titty from smoking weed lol
......so this makes just about every champ a ped popper......how can his legacy be affected after we all know 90 percent of everyone there uses them and knows how to pass the test.
That's super elite, even in the NBA.
he is the goat and is exceptionally gifted in that area yeah
I never knew that's ridiculous.
Remember when all the "gen-Z" fans (who wasn't around for any of this ) thought that izzy could actually do something with Bones ??
🤦♂️😂
Still is
He literally still Is my guy,.
No bias, just facts, great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Who else is here after he won the championship again
Love your work great job 👏🏼
I just realized that shogun tapped after he hit the mat before the red stopped the fight
FANTASTIC thumbnail
As great as jones is now with everything on his head,
His legacy would've been undeniable if he just maintained discipline
Best fighter in MMA
To regain the title 4 times without ever losing it in the octagon is some real GOAT type of 💩. Love him or hate him he's the king of the sport, 🐐.
Now he's back again. Can't wait ❤🔥
Wasn't expecting a documentary, stayed tuned in though!

Such a good video. Earned a sub. Crazy doc bro wtf 😹
I had never notice shogun actually tapped out after the he drops
