    Reading the directions helped me alot when I stalling the winch on my son's 250 recon. The blue, yellow wires were too short and the red, black wires from warn were wayyyyy to long so I swapped them.

    The solenoid goes under the gas tank, using a ubolt type of mount to one of the frame tubes going down

    You know there is a sub harness for the hand grips and winch on that model yeah?

      Is that the leads in the clear tubes?

    What is the brand and part # for the winch mount you used?

    How did you splice the 12v connection? Did you use a sub harness

    Can you link the winch mount and the winch from Fortnine website ?

    I cannot believe you drilled the frame. 😖

      If it ever causes a problem I will report back. I’m currently not worried about it and it still looks great.

    Did the winch come with the switch and everything needed? Besides the mounting plate.

    • @dr.dansgarage
      @dr.dansgarage  Год назад

      Yes, it came with it all.
      Still looking and working great after over a year now.

    Did you have to trim the plastic at all for the winch to fit. Others have mentioned that trimming is required with the kfi mount. Just curious.

      No, it didn’t require trimming. Once in, it fits well.

      @5:20 I think those might be positive and negative whips to splice onto if needed

    How many pound winches is that? is that enough if this vehicle gets buried

    • @dr.dansgarage
      @dr.dansgarage  2 года назад

      It’s 2500 lb. If it’s stuck enough to need more than that, then block and tackle style pulleys can be used.

    I must have missed how you mounted the solenoid. Zip ties?

      I used those 1/4" grade 8 bolts through the frame. Overkill I'm sure; but it's secure.

    Bad move on the holes in the frame. Storage area would have been better

      I’m keeping an eye on it. A year later and it still looks pristine. If it ever causes problems I will repair it. I doubt it will ever cause problems.

    Holy shit you just voided your warranty by drilling through the frame. 3-4" from the hot exhaust..?? Yikes. Good luck

      I checked on it a month or two ago. It still looks totally fine. If it ever causes trouble I’ll fix it; but I doubt it will ever need it. Would nylon straps have sufficed and been better? Perhaps.
