This was great, I have been researching "how do you test for angioedema?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Miyhloe Wordless Magic - (should be on google have a look )?
It is an awesome one of a kind product for discovering how to eliminate hives and angioedema minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my co-worker got great success with it.

    regarding questions,
    1. C1 esterase INH activity and concentration (less than 50% of normal levels) and C4 concentration.
One single test of the above three is not sufficient for screening.
    2. Urticara is absent in HAE, so does elevation of IgE levels.
    3. FFP has kallikrein-kinin system proteins, meaning that more bradykinin may be produced by these, potentially leading to a worsening of acute attacks. Furthermore, potential presence of viruses in FFP is not deactivated. Thus, FFP shouldn't be used in this regard unless i.v. C1 INH and s.c. Bradykinin receptor B2 blocker are both not available.

Best explanation I've found yet. Using Kalbitor for acute attacks and about to start takhyzyro for preventative meds. It took a decade and a good doctor in an ER to figure out what was was wrong with me

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis After the Kalbitor much better. I had issues since I was a kid with my hands and lips. The attacks disappeared from ages 10-21 but came back worse than ever in adulthood. I'm 31 now so I've been dealing with this for 10 years now, and thanks to that ER doctor I have gotten a good idea what's wrong with me. Now I'm getting the treatment I need and am having my serpin1 gene tested although I believe I need my f12 gene tested since my complement levels are normal. Either way I should be starting takhyzro soon for preventative medication with Kalbitor to treat the acute

I do really appreciate your effort in this series and the others, but I have get so much confused now, exactly in video #25 of Blood&Coagulation series talking about Hereditary Angioedema Treatment between minute 4:30 and minute 4:47. You pointed to that the mechanism of Renin inhibitor-induced Angioedema is that "all of the ACE is busy converting HMWK into ugly Bradikinin […] since renin is history". But being said, and known, that ACE inhibits the conversion of HMWK into Bradikinin and takes the already convertd Bradikinin to the cleaner, so how come that FREE OF OTHER DUTY (angitensin 1 coversion into angiotensin 2, since NO MORE angiotensin 1 is available due to inhibition of renin)-ACE converts HMWK into Bradikinin?!!

I am an HAE patient in South Africa with no Icatibant or Ecallantide available here.. We were told FFP is not recommended in acute attacks because it takes too long (here it takes a minimum of 4 hours to cross match for plasma compatibility and so on), by the time you can receive the FFP the attack is already too far along and may be nearing life threatening.. In acute cases treatment is needed extremely fast

Without HAE we have C1 esterase inhibitor in our body which inhibits C1 enzyme... that means C1 is not converted into active C1...so what happens when a bacteria enters ? Does C1 inhibitory enzyme concentration decreases in body? But that may lead to HAE..... what's the go through?

Good morning, I have HAE. I found out by accident when I swelled after heparin. During my lifetime I had very small seizures, my family had swelling, but no one took care of it because we almost always cut deep submucosa.
Perhaps you can tell why heprayna caused such a large seizure. Whole body seizure. Now I know we are not allowed fibrinolytics, people with hae. I'm just wondering technically how it happens in the cells of the body that I had such a big seizure after heparin.

My lip swells up about ones a year or so. Sometimes upper lip sometimes under lip. It starts with a rice sized little thing deep in the lip and it grows fast and worse every day for three - five days. Eventually it gets so big I look like extreme restylane experiment gone wrong. It always end with the lip open and a crust that is very little solid and easily is pealed off, yellow puss and almost black crust, a bit blood. Last time it went beyond my lip and my face swolled up a bit up til under the eyes.
This isn't herpes, I sometimes have on the mouth corners, and the doctor sent me to the dentist twise, I knew it wasn't because of teeth and the dentist said so too. I searched and I have no allergies except nikkel a bit, but I hadn't done anything unusual or eaten or been out. Clean home, clean bed sheets, I saw many with lips like mine who said they had angio edema. But when I asked the doctor he gave strong antibiotics and thought it was streptococcus or staphylococcus because of the sore and yellow black crust. I just think it's strange since it happens so regularly. Have had anti immune hepatitis before that probably burned out over years of getting better with steroids and imurelle. I struggle very much with fetigue and out of breath, but lungs are fine, liver function is fine now, I just wonder if a doctor like you could say if I can have angio edema or is it something else? I don't dare to mention it to my doctor, if I may be wrong. I just wish I knew why I m so exhausted all the time and this lip thing happens about 7 times now, maby when very stressed and exhausted. Single mom to an autistic youth, so I need my energy and can't spend money on myself, so if a doctor have any suspicions, I would be greatful. I only know if I get a like, but can unlike and I still get notification, I think. Don't expect answers, but hope ;-) :-)

Though yours seems a bit more severe than mine, I was misdiagnosed with this and told to take histamine blockers forever. Unrelated, I started eating clean. Before I ate alot of processed food, I would eat a whole box of salty snacks. I believe it was the amount of sodium in my diet. I eat fairly healthily now, and since doing this it has not happened since. This was 5 or more years ago. Clean up your lifestyle (if you haven't already) and see what happens. Doctors are alot less necessary than we have eaten ourselves into believing.

      1- high bradykinin level.
      2-urticaria, itching not present
3- bradykinin would activate factor xII and coagulation cascade.

You mentioned renin inhibitors will cause angioedema by directing more ACE from angiotensin system towards bradykinin system. But more ACE at that arm will lead to less bradykinin and no angioedema.

1: most cost effective test is C4 level in blood.
2: skin prick test differentiates HAE from Allergic AE
3: because FFP also contains coagulation factors and XIIa is gonna cause increase in kallikerin
