Parents can't be forced to "understand" any thing if they aren't comfertable with just because they give birth to people like her.
They have the right to the life they give and if you're not comfertable with it what makes you think they should just embrace you just like that?!!
The blessing is the are in love with one another today. Forget about their past God has blessed them..PERIOD POO
Man that voice that told Dominique to run…oooh! Thank goodness she listened! I’d love to see a movie based on her life (well made). It’s really something that she was really a ballroom kid!
I so appreciate her telling her story so frankly and authentically. She's truly remarkable. I know EXACTLY what's she's talking about growing up in the Caribbean and being LGBTI. That reunion with her brother and mother brought me to tears!!!
What a strong and incredible woman. What a genuine LIGHT. Seeing her with her family is so joyous, despite how hard it is with the years lost.
Love the fact that her and her mom mended their strained relationship and her brother always kept in touch with her.
As someone from Trinidad and Tobago, I'm so proud of how far she has come
POSE is not the only show she's in. I recently saw her in American Gods. And like always she is fabulous in it. Check that out! Thank you for this wonderful documentary on Dominique. Queen!
That’s a different actress who plays bilquis on American gods. But they do have a striking resemblance both very beautiful Black goddesses
@@randlereno9845 Actually she's on 3rd season as Mrs World, one of the facets of Mr. World
Yes! I was watching it literally yesterday and when she stepped out I gasped! She's amazing!
This woman deserves every success that has come her way and I hope I can continue to see her work beyond Pose and I am excited to see what she does next.
“I need you in my life” is one of the most important things a mother can hear. Beautiful family!
I hear her T&T accent peak through when she says "photos" 😊😊 Love from 🇯🇲
As a Trini 🇹🇹 girl I'm proud of her! We ALL have a path we must take. Do you!
She will forever be MOTHER ELEKTRA ABUNDANCE 😭❤️😭
Give her a show, need to see more of her. Perfect actress, perfect person… a star in all the terms… ✨ shine
She gives me so much confidence to believe in yourself and trust your intuition. She's so elegant and regal, a work of art ❤️❤️❤️
My god Dominique is extraordinarily beautiful. I’m sorry. That woman stuns me
Don't apologise for stating facts! ❤
Yes I aspire to be that confident
It’s the side profile for me 😫😫😫😻
Am I the only fan here who think she has similar face to Naomi Campbell?
She gives Naomi vibes/ grace
I see hints of Naomi but I look at Dominique as simply beautiful and I don’t see Naomi , when I look at her. I see Dominique.
She gives me Grace Jones and Cynthia Bailey face vibes
@@iamtheclout1912 Yeah her cheekbones and face structure is very similar to Cynthia Bailey. Naomi has a smaller head
Don't.
I need her to write a book and name it RUN
YES
Excellent! I would read it!
I Agree!
She wrote an autobiography. It would be amazing if it was called run
YESS
she's got a point, she's an icon, she's a legend and she's the moment
She ok
Its almost like she wasn’t even acting in pose. The Series is the best thing i have ever watched
She’s in American gods too! She dominates every role she play she was made to be an actress!
That’s a different actress
@@DivinityDivyne She is Ms. World in season 3
@@DivinityDivyne clearly you haven’t watched the new season
@@desireeb374 I checked the casting before commenting because I heard absolutely nothing about it. I have not seen season 3 but I’m glad to know she’s on there. It was that simple to say but clearly you needed an edgy response.
@@Vincent-rq2hy thank you I was unaware after checking the casting and all. Definitely going to watch the show now that I know she’s in it!
Dominique is shedding light for lots of ignorant folk... especially those in the Caribbean!! Fighting for equality, and a non judge-mental mindset...
Religion- a traditional crutch... I’m so glad that I realized that being spiritual, feeling and being close with God; your personal relationship is what’s important!!! Not religion, not the show, hypocrisy, judgement! I can relate... being brought up in the “church”...
From one West Indian to the next; Dominique you are Magic 🪄 I commend you for rising like the Phoenix that you are!!! 💋
The mother struggles but she loves her son and is trying to reconcile her daughter. They have both suffered. Both of them need to be loved.
The mother doesn't deserve her
Period.
@@muffincandle1413 exactly if you can’t love and support your child WHO SIMPLY just wants to live life as who they truly are. YOU ARE NOT A PARENT.
Loved her walk on Christian Louboutin heels… nobody can do that with such a style! Love her
The tears, the hope, the love.... i am always grateful to rewatch this.
I love how her mother and brother eventually came around and accepted her in the end!! She is such an inspiration to us all❤
But can i just say, Elektra still has that dead body in her closet (pose s2) OK I KNOW AS OF EDITING, S3 is out, DONT SPOIIL ANYTHING FOR US. PLEASE.
UPDATE YA'LL: I FEEL SEEN AND HEARD BY THE WRITERS OF THE SHOW IN S3. I WONT SAY HOW THEY HANDLED IT.🧡🧡🧡
😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂
Good for her lol
That’s actually a true story. This drag Queen actually had a dead body in her closet wrapped up in a similar way they wrapped it on the show.
SCENTED CANDLES
@@tennillec8635 and they only discovered it after her death
She's beautiful inside and out. She's so strong having gone through the things she has and remaining the beautiful person she is, working so hard to help others. I'm glad her and her mother could get to a point of telling each other they love each other, hugging, spending holidays together. It's so very sad that some people don't get that even after so much time. No one should suffer like she has suffered.
Dominique is Elektra but even kinder. i love her softness and how open up she is after all she endured. i am glad she had her surgery and reconciled with her mom.
This woman is an inspiration to me. The struggles she has had to overcome and the pain she has been through have made her a stronger and fiercer woman. Absolutely amazing.
For someone that easily distracted, this documentary glued my eyes to the screen with no pause. Great great and very well put together documentary. I felt like I know her thoroughly and felt like she is my sister. Great story and great take on that story.
she makes me so happy to be black and trans! i love her
You and me both it takes courage to come out and live ur life on full display
Im so inspired
Wish you nothing but success, happiness, and health! Also, you’re not a trashcan. No human is💗
Flourish in life queen!
I love how she always hits the T in her pronunciations. So precise.
MajoriTy lol
This makes pose so much more understandable. It was already so powerful but to know the story behind this actress was incredible.
She is the definition of perseverance and persistance and self-love... a true inspiration! R-E-S-P-E-C-T
That is where I met my first husband... I should have left him there. Yes ma’am 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hahaha it got me too
That's inner Elektra speaking ... 😅
Understood!
It’s every time she enunciates her “t’s” for me ~ her strength is so beautiful ~ I hope this serves as inspiration to everyone holding themselves back.
She is a beautiful, wonderful woman who has been a true inspiration to others as well as teaching those who don't know what it's like to be on the outside looking in. I pray only for good to come to this great lady!
This woman is fearless.. I salute you for standing up in what you believe in..and in POSE u were phenomenal.. Lots of love.. All the way from Zimbabwe..
31:39 "we are the majority because if we come together we are the majority"
The way she is being happy and excited about telling her mom every piece in her appartment 😩💖 i love her so inspiring
I already loved her, but after watching this I love her even more if possible. 😍😁🏳️🌈
I know right. Lol
@ Me too, I love the cast and the show. Everyone is brilliant. 🥰
Me tooooo
I luv how she’s from Baltimore!!!!
Same here. 💖
I fell in LOVE w/ Dominique the moment I saw her in *POSE* ---- as a _hetero_ woman, I wasnt able to tell that she was *Trans* ---- I believed she was a _hetero woman_ ACTING as a "trans woman". She is ICONIC and the type of WOMAN I wish I were!
I have so much LOVE + RESPECT for her. I was in tears for her, through her struggles and pain, and through her TRIUMPHS!!!
I am so happy she has Edwin in her life, who truly loves + supports her in everything she does! I hope that her dream of *adopting* children becomes a reality --- she will be such a great mother! Give this woman her CROWN --- cause she is a *QUEEN* !!!! 🙋❤
