FINALLY someone invited one of the girls from Pose on a talk show. I love myself some Billy Porter but I wish I saw more recognition for the ladies.
They get tons of life outside of the show though, they’re everyones stylist and makeup artist and hairstylist, allow black trans women a chance to shine without being jealous the spotlight isn’t on your for a millisecond.

Let’s be real, it’s not a competition but gay men are more accepted than transwomen. The show depicts that in many ways. The point is that many transwomen of color opened doors but still weren’t as accepted as gay men were in straight spaces. They didn’t tour with Madonna like gay men after vogue blew up or have many opportunities in the industry period. Have we not been watching the same show with the multiple storylines that highlight this. I feel like the show reclaims their time and influence that has been ignored by mainstream.

And please don't give family members, lovers, and "allege friends" a pass to hurt or disrespect you in any way that makes you feel unworthy or less than. I just started watching Season 1 on Monday and now I'm halfway thru Season 2 and it's only Wednesday! Lots of laughter and tears went along with watching. And the Soundtrack and sites of the 80's & early 90's NYC brought back memories!

As a _straight_ woman, I will never be able to understand nor accept as to WHY people feel the need to use *labels* in defining others. I dont care about someones _color or sexual preference + identity_ ; I treat everyone with *respect* + I accept them as they are and for who they are - unless they decide to treat me differently. I think that people will always *hate* what they cant accept, understand, or is different than they are - and this defines THEM and not the person they project their hatred towards.
I hope there will come a day when we will see + accept each other AS we are, and for WHO we are - without the *labels* - where we can all just be ... _human beings_ behaving within a _humane_ manner.

*POSE* is one of the most revolutionary + courageous shows to air on television within the last decade, featuring a stellar cast of talented actors. I hope this show will help pave the way for more LGBT actors in the future to be portrayed as _themselves_ in films, instead of casting "famous hetero actors" to play _gay + transgender_ roles, which is an INSULT to the viewer's intelligence, but moreover a slap in the face to he multitude of super-talented LGBT actors who are constantly deprived + denied the right and the opportunity to be WHO they are.
Finally, yes Blanca all the way, it’s my fav show and I am rewatching season 1 makes me feel some kind of way, nostalgic for those times

First time I saw it, I thought I'd hate it. I was hooked right away. I won't bother to say why I thought that; will take away from this amazing woman MJ. I saw everything twice, and now that someone mentioned Netflix, I will look for it there and bookmark the series. It took me back, too, for I was on the West Coast when all that was happening on the East Coast. I did my part for the community, but it was a far cry different than New York City. I was in the Bay Area, and if anything like this was going on, it would've been Los Angeles.

Most of all they are so happy and kind hearted people,my 14 yr old granddaughter loving all the outfits and makeup,we cant wait for series 3,wishing our lives away ha! My son is a graduate of Arts High but he graduated back in 1995. I was raised in Newark and East Orange. I absolutely love. POSE I not too long ago watched the second season and I love it. I think MjRodriguez is perfection. She is so good in her part and I love all the cast, wonderful show!
I have to confess honestly that when I saw the clips of this series I felt like I was committing a sin and felt bad...I questioned myself Why.I was afraid of these people.Always felt they would only harm others .Now I think differently.I cried so much.Society can be very cruel.
