I am a 60 year old straight white woman who has the utmost respect and admiration for this woman. She has a phenomenal message about living her truth. My 35 year old son came out as gay when he was 15 and I've always admired his bravery in doing so. It's still scary for me to know that he is navigating this world with the hate that exists for people who dare to live an honest existence rather than what may seem like a safer existence, but I wouldn't want him to do anything different. I've known of and heard the stories of a lot of people with gender identification struggles but Dominique's story has given me the greatest understanding of how important living the truth is because of the lengths she has taken to be the person she was born to be. I realize that the greatest truth I can live is to have faith in and support other people who live their truth, without question.
Let me reassure you that the fact that your son came out at 15 is part of the reason it is safer for him to be out at 35. Every one of us who stood up and said we are here, we are queer, get used to it added one more voice to a symphony that couldn't be ignored. We turned out to be more than just a joke on late night tv. It was easier to hate when there were less visibly out people. There are still people who disown their kids or hate their family members for being gay but it's not socially acceptable to do that any longer. It's a stunning reversal, but it's a great evolution, if that makes sense. You used to be encouraged to hate queer and trans folk, but now that has changed. The country is changing so quickly that some want to pump the brakes but it's too late. They lost the cultural war and they're losing the legal wars now. The act of identification was a courageous act of resistance. We have to remember to stay visible and stay vigilant because hate still stalks us, but every person like your son helps hold the door open to love. The majority walk through it, which is a wonderful thing.
I 💜 the character she plays! Definitely an iconic character up there with the best of them. She can be a hot mess but she will keep rising...and she can read people for filth when she has to!

I just discovered the series Pose and it motivated me to learn a whole lot more about the struggles of transgender women. A lot of the subjects displayed in the series I had never given a second thought to as a cis gendered woman. I must say, that it has opened my eyes to the reality that although cis gendered women face dificulties in today's society, our fellow transgender women face a whole other level of difficulties that I had never even dreamed of. I am so proud of the actors/actresses who portrayed their talents on this show and opened my eyes to different realities. My favorite character was Elektra and I must say Dominique hs tremendous acting talent! I will always follow and support her from now on. @@mariahyohannes yes trinidad is a homophobic place. And gays are bullied and belittled. There are open minded people and they are very supportive of the LGBT community in trinidad but in general the answer to your question is yes.
you must live for your self and not for your mom or dad
Barry Rosen I like that you say that. Everyone tells me that also. I can’t help but to impress them and live for them and represent them. I know I have to be me and live my life but I always want there approval
Amen! It is not easy living your own truth but it is the sweetest felling in the world once you accomplish that freedom for life.
She’s so intelligent and elegant. Gave me such a different perspective on the struggles of trans women :/
Trans no Trans We are all WOMAN 🙏🏻 ❤️
I absolutely love Dominique's view on "Acceptance". Truly inspirational! Pose is one of the best shows ever produced!

To Save My Family's Name By Taking My Life
That's Eye Opening
And Shocking
It's an island thing. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
People who complain about her acting should watch this. She's playing a CHARACTER most know in the "scene"
Ms Dominique's legs reach to the damned heavens!!!! I love her character. Seems the real person is even better.
(Please excuse any mis types as I am writing from a celular phone)
...but you're not an abomination. You're a gift, a lovely, wonderful, perfect gift to this world exactly as you are. No one is an abomination. God created us in its image, which is multifaceted, undefined and glorious. Never ever ever feel your family or the world would be better off without you. The world suffers a great loss when amazing brilliant shining souls are dimmed because of others ignorance. I may not know your struggles, but I love your spirit.
you worded this very beautiful. I appreciate this post a lot. while I am not apart of the LGBTQ community a lot of my friends are.. i tell them all the time not to be ashamed of who they are. God has the final say, so live you’re truth while you’re here.
God said it is an abomination then it is you ain't talking about nothing this world is going to hell in a hand basket.
Jerry Collins oop
The bible says nothing about transitioning..... Just putting that out there. Not that I am remotely religious. She is stunning and the most amazing role model.
@@jerrycollins8260 God did not say she was an abomination...an interpreter from the Bible said that homosexuals are an abomination...u don't know what she does in the bedroom...and I'm 100 % sure you never pick up the Bible and read yourself....God did not say that...your grandma said that🤣
"I don't live in frustration, I'm too beautiful for that" WERK!
A remarkable and courageous woman. Pose introduced me to her, I'm working backwards here to educate myself more about her personal story. She is helping to open doors for other trans women. All power to her, firstly for sharing her truth and secondly for just living her life with grace and dignity and showing other people that they don't need to hide or feel ashamed.
" I don't live in frustration, I'm too beautiful for that".....There is so much class in this QUEEN!
She is amazing! Smart, beautiful, talented, and strength in the face of such adversity. Her acting skills are mesmerizing. Appreciate her so much.
I'm trans proud and deeply proud of Dominiques candor and well earned wisdom.. beautiful inside and out..xo
Big up Dominique. Trini 🇹🇹 to the bone
Such a pleasure to listen to her. I love her authenticity, sharpness and humility.
Dominique Jackson is one of the most stunningly beautiful women I've ever seen. I'm happy to see she is such a powerful woman! #translivesmatter
Love this video. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago myself. I'm not trans but I am gay, you yourself knows the judgemental place here is. My not out to the world but I'm starting to get more comfortable with myself and starting to come out to selective friends and it was love across the board. As recent as last week. Thanks for sharing

What a beautiful, dynamic individual she is!!!!
She's so pretty. I'm glad she chose to live her life in a way that makes her happy.
Im so happy for watching Pose. I’m inspired by all the cast 💕 been doing a lot of research on the trans people situation and looking of ways of being an ally on their fight. We need to embrace each other’s fight.

Can we please have Ms.Jackson teach us all how to be ourselves and give us all strength, to give us the permission to shine. Thank you Goddess Dominique Jackson!!!
I love her etiquette and just her whole demeanor in general😭😍😍
I seriously need "Pose" to come back asap. I am so tired of the dumb shows on television. What a lovely fuckin soul.
I love that she still sounds like Elektra Abundance
No, Elektra abundance sounds like her
I love the show pose ! My parents are from 🇹🇹 and now I will love this actress more 👌🏾
I just cannot with her... the regality, the voice, her story, her power, just F***ing her as a being, is just awe-inspiring.
I am so sad that your struggle was so difficult and that others oppressed you . I am glad you had the inner strength to become the person you are. You have me respect and admiration. Brava.
She's gorgeous! I love her in Pose!
could listen to her for hours. So well spoken
I absolutely love ❤️ her. Especially in season two. “Cocoon him” lol 😂 She’s gorgeous on the inside as well as outside!
