- Part 2 starts with some steel prep followed by the last of the basement framing and continues on to show more of the steel prep before finishing up with the setting of the first beam at the street side of the house.
There will be a little jumping around from task to task but the beginning of bigger jobs can be like that as you work to get all the material and equipment on site.
I didn't shoot a lot of the steel fabrication process but I'll include more when I start the steel for the next level.
I'm in awe of the one man build crew. That's just awesome.
Ok, I've watched two of your vids so far and not once did I see plans being used. How you can memorize the placement of things is awesome. You are like a mini superman with a saw and hammer. I marvel at your efficiency. 👍
Hey Jake really enjoyed the video.
Amazing progress considering your on your own.
YOU ROCK MATE!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your knowledge! Well done - NEW SUB 🙏🏻
Glad it's not just me when you said STAY while putting up the framing 😂😂😂😂
A one man show!
Well Jake I need to echo the comments below. I've seen a few one man show's in my career but you are the only force of nature man! Great Job! Be safe with that big iron! Can't wait to see the next post!!m PS, You do have a handle on the concept..Economy of Motion!!
Wow that was a lot of work single-handedly! Good job
GOOD JOB .
haven't seen finished project but think some architect has overengineered or had unlimited budget constraints
Awesome Job!!
My muscles hurt just watching 😂
First time seeing your video and I am at awe on you doing the framing yourself. I could learn more from you coming from construction industry myself. Thanks.
Awesome rigging brother. Take care.
You have got a new subscriber! Very impressive! Great to learn a thing or two! Greetings from Germany!
Great video, awesome and informative to watch and see your skills & techniques. Mic'd up is the way to go if you can swing it.
Were these beams pre-drilled or do you shoot the screws right through them?
As a Dane, its funny to se how much wood and nails there is in the american modern house. Here in Denmark we use blocks, precast concrete forms (not superior walls ect) and bricks as the main materials. And the concrete ant blocks is the inner shell, and typically bricks as outer shell and in between we use mineral wool as insulation. And when we use wood, we usually use screws. And of course a lot of nice sturdy steel.
Do you shoot your slab with a transit level to ensure it's flat? Asking because I've watched other videos where folks will pull a string across the top of the concrete walls and then cut each stud separately to take up any variation in the slab elevation. You obviously are flush on top of your concrete walls with your basement framing so curious how you achieved that without having to cut studs individually.
